honestly when you look at the 12 tones on the chromatic scale there's only so many permutations that are possible. Something is bound to repeat every now and then
Danophile and Lux - Lux is correct. None of the songs in this video are identical, as far as I can tell. However, that doesn't mean that the video game music wasn't influenced by those particular classical pieces.
I have some weird feeling tha a part of the Castle theme on Super Mario World is somewhat ripped off by a piece of Beethoven's 5th symphony.Forgive me if I'm talking out of my butt.
Super Mario 64's final boss theme (Ultimate Koopa) also derives from a classic melody. I can't recall its name but we heard it at history class the other day.
Also, the Dragon Warrior I overworld theme and the beginning of the 4th movement of Debussy's Suite Bergamasque. Check it out!

@HisRoyalDudeliness For some, definitely, but that hack one had to be straight from that classical song or something because it was exactly the same.

Also, a part of the Blue Danube Waltz sounds sort of like the water theme from Mario Bros.

Wow Sweet find. I need to listen to more of these symphonies. You have any idea where I can download them or something.
Keep finding more similarities this is very interesting :).
