@emkplayboy6 yes, see the video description for the .22lr I've mounted mine on. Due to the recoil and shock of a piston in a 1000fps air rifle, the air rifle is far harder on scopes than a .22lr.
Damn! You live in a shooters paradise! 2nd story shooting position, No nosy neighbors calling the cops.,plenty of land.I want to bring my rifle and move in your spare bedroom..

(i dont mind if its not dual recoil safe) what do you suppose i do?
@grannman i tightened them to the point where the upper and lower half of the rings were touching. i gotta swap them out for better rings with a stop pin. any suggestions for what kind?
@imjustwonderful I've you've got a 30mm objective lens size - get the medium height mount. The high mount will still work, it'll just hold the scope higher above the barrel.
Strange that the screws on the adjustment knobs lock them down. Many scopes they allow you to rotate the knobs without changing the scope adjustment. That was the numbers line up to zero. That way if you are shooting different ranges you and adjust your scope, but always get it back to where it was easily.
I'm very new to scopes, I play airsoft, are the turn nobs easier to help sight in rather than tho old style turners that you have to unscrew the caps and what not? Also could u possibly make a zeroing in tutorial? I'll sub! :) please and thank you
@44Tapout These knobs are not quickly adjustable by design. To sight in draw a dot on a piece of paper, set it out at 20 feet, fire 3 shots, adjust windage and elevation accordingly, fire 3 shots etc. That zeroing method is for rifles that actually shoot accurately but should be fine for airsoft also.
great telescope, I have a 6-24x50 Center Point and use it on my .22 lr Rifle Bolt Action CBC. I do shots at small targets from 100 meters away easily. Take a look at my videos ... Hug!

Great review I just bought a Rossi .243 Wizard single shot and was thinking about this scope any comments would help Also can I use a raised mount so I can still iron sight ? I have that on my SKS and love it Thanks -Jason
I have a diana mod 350 mag 1250fps .I bought this scope but the mounts is my problem .
everyone tell me that i need to get a shock mount but i don't know where to get it, I bought a BKL dovtail mount with 6 screws . The person at BKL told me that this is a shock mount but i am still not sure . What type of mount would you recommend for my gun with that scope.
@britishrashad You need a one-piece mount that utilises a stop pin that fits into the mod 350's stop pin hole. However, some people have found the mod 350's stop pin hole is too shallow and mangles in which case you will want to buy the Leapers weaver base for your air rifle.
@grannman I did. Whenever I adjust it so I can zero it, it doesnt click. I can try as hard as I could and it still wont budge. I have tried everything with the scope and its not working. I use to be able to turn it but now it just wont work. Thankyou
@LongIslandAirsoft5 You have to extend the turrets just the perfect amount, just past the point where they unlock. So long as the turret turns with a bit of resistance after that point it should be working regardless of if it clicks or not. The turrets should click when it reaches that point, but they really don't click very well.
So you have had this scope for a while how is it holding up? A lot of people bash Leapers but it looks like it has everything I want for a good value. From your videos it looks like it can take 22lr no problem. Has it been holding zero for you?
@flyinhighrogerKBTR1 It should be fine by what Leapers say. They had one mounted on some potent rigby rifle for a test. I'd give it a shot keeping in mind it is a fairly budget prices scope.
ive had this scope for a while and i cant for the life of me figure out how to adjust the crosshairs. i know they have alen screws but i cant figure out how to make them move.
@ionrocker95 you might wanna try looking at the locking rings that are on your windage/elevation knobs they are the ones closest to the scope itself. once you loosen those, you can freespin the windage/elevation knobs, they will have audible clicks by the way. once it is zeroed, just tighten the locking rings and you are good to go. the allen screws deal with disassembling the w/e knobs themselves, not zeroing. hopefully this was helpful for you.
@aVEzPz go to "cheaperthandirt . com. They have a variety of Leapers UTG scopes. I believe the one pictured in the video retails through them for $64.
Just got the the 3-9 x 40 version. I mounted it but have yet to take it to the range. Just wondering, to save myself from a future hassle of figuring it out while at the firing line, what way do you turn the turrets for elevation and windage? like in regards to clockwise/counterclockwise? couldnt find that in the manual..
i have a question can anyone answer this? This doesnt come with a mount right? if it doesnt then will the stock mount from the gamo big cat fit this? if not then where can i get a mount that will fit onto this and the big cat?
@peterz193 Did your scope come with the sunshade? I ask just in case the 40 model doesn't have the capability.
If it does come with the shade and you can see the front ring there get some rubber gloves. Hold the objective from turning with one hand and grip the ring with the other and put some oomph into it. Make sure you're turning it counter-clockwise, the same direction I turn it in the video.
@grannman Hi thanks for the help.....I used WD-40 to losen it up and it works fine now.I have a Gamo CFX and I was wondering what would be a good mount for it Medium or high?
Hello friend I wonder if she did not deregulate easy, 'cause I saw it on Ebay and give this to my wanting to nitro rifle CBC 1300 x 1300-feet would she guenta the lock will not be reset every hour or she is good, which you recommend for me, help me please
@Yodaxx42 Yes you have to buy mounts separate because the manufacturer can't read your mind to know if you're mounting on a dovetail or weaver base or how high you want your rings.
see my mounting video description writeup for mount model on an air rifle dovetail.
I have the same scope, but in 3-9x40. It sits atop of my Zastava Arms .22 Hornet with a mauser action. The scope has been brilliant! The 5th Gen Leapers are designed to withstand repeated forward and reverse motion recoil associated with high power springer air rifles. This "magnum" recoil proof design ensures that it can easily live atop a lower power centerfire rifle. Would I mount a Leapers on my 45-70 guide gun or M14 in 308 Winchester? Maybe not, but for the price, it might be worth a try!
@brysonwilliams70 I have mine mounted on my Ruger 10/22. I have the 3-9 x 40 version but the 50 version in this video would work fine as well, i would recommend mounts that are a little higher in order to give the scope clearance.
will this scope withstand air-rifle/spring recoil? ive heard that scopes can fall apart from the backward-forward recoil. can you get this in australia? if so, where and for how much?
@strathyman All I can say is that I broke one on my gamo shadow 1000 air rifle as you can see in the video description. It could have been a lemon, who knows. I mounted the replacement on my .22lr which has virtually non-existent recoil.
@grannman its a bit strange that your rifle broke the leapers scope, because iv reasearched this scope and its apparantly specialised for spring/air rifles... so normally that would give me piece of mind, but since urs broke, im still hesitant about buying one...lol. did you buy yours online off ebay orr?
My question to you guys that have the scope on a .22lr, how is it holding up? It looks like a good buy. I have a marlin with some upgrades and a simmons 3-9x32 and i was looking around for a new scope.
@aj3071 It works very well on my Remington 597. You could put virtually any scope on a .22lr and not have to worry about it. The .22lr doesn't produce enough recoil to worry even the cheapest of the cheap scopes.
@dirtyminded604 .22lr is going to have huge drop at that range and any wind is going to blow your bullet like a leaf regardless of how perfect your rifle or the scope is. That's nearly 200 meters. I'd go for the higher magnification if trying to shoot at that distance.
@grannman I was missing a 7x7" metal plate with a friend's .22lr. SR-22 Ruger by 1 inch @ 650ft. It was witnessed through a spotter scope. Yes, mind you it was very difficult with an ACOG 4x32, as i had to compensate over 6ft. above poi. Which now made me think when i buy my 10/22 i may want the same version of this scope but with the 4-16 x50. Im just wondering will the 4-16 look to big on a Ruger 10/22? especially with the sunshade?
@dirtyminded604 it will look massive on that rifle. Make sure you mount it properly with a weaver base. The 10/22 isn't really known for accuracy, especially at that distance, so with a scope like this you will find you can shoot better than the rifle itself. The rifle will be the limiting factor.
@grannman Thanks, figured it would look to big. Btw i have to humbly disagree, the 10/22 is known for amazing accuracy right out of the box, and even better once dialed in and after market parts applied.
@dirtyminded604 I guess it depends on the benchmark you set for accuracy. 1/2" groups at 50 meters is what I call accurate and if you're 10/22 can do that you've got a special 10/22. My friend has a stainless match bull barrel on his 10/22 and now he can keep up with my Rem 597 at more than 3x the cost. The 10/22 has a name for good dependability and functional accuracy. Truly sharp accuracy out of the box is not a common claim for the standard 10/22.
@grannman A stock 10/22 will hold 1 inch groups at 50 yards. easily. With a high quality scope, with good zoom and the 10/22 can hit a 12 in. x 12 in. target at 1,000ft.
hey does that outer ring you took off when putting on ur sun shade have a protector lens in it, i am just wondering because i play airsoft and i wanted this scope on a sniper rifle and this leapers is pretty expensive and i dont want it to crack if i get hit in the lens.
@slaking08 no there is no 'protector lense'. My advice to you is to get the cheapest bargain bin scope you can. Anything else is a waste on an airsoft gun in my opinion.
@grannman thanks for the advice and reply but buying anything cheap for airsoft isnt worth it. and this is not a waste on airsoft because the lense are soo clear for sniping altho u wont need it any higher than 5x zoom for airsoft. buying a cheap scope for airsoft would be a waste because u cant see well thru blurry lense besides the 3x zoom so u might as well not use it. thanks for the reply tho
yah that is a good thing. i hade a great idea though. say your in a hunting situation. you will only need one pellet so why not load the gun then put it on? then just take it off when you reload? of course thats not true for when you want to screw off in the back yard or at the range. thnx for the reply, hope to hear from you again
@GAMOkid26 Far to much completely unnecessary hassle. I'd be gobsmacked if I saw anyone doing that, to put it politely. I've never found the sunshade necessary, and hunting can often require a quick reload.
i have a question? i have a gamo big cat 1200. if you have the sunshade on, wont the barrel hit the bttom of the sunshade when you cock the gun? this is the only problem i see with buying the scope for my gun plz right back thanx
@fixdeluxe1 I'm thinking about purchasing one for a Ruger 10/22, any probs? zero issues after multiple shots of .22lr? and was this originally built intended for airsoft?
@dirtyminded604 No,it's for Rimfire Rifles. Why even put a scope of this quality on some cheap Airsoft Rifle.Get a $100 buck Norinco Scope, they are much cheaper.
Ask Grannman,he's the expert. It's great for plinking.
@fixdeluxe1 Unfortunately many people do. And some airsoft rifles i've seen are far from cheap. Twice the price of the Ruger 10/22 for some models. I know, it's beyond me. The reason i ask is Leapers has a line called UTG intended for airsoft. and many people have put up vids saying UTG for this scope.
@dirtyminded604 If it's an expensive Airsoft Rifle(which are rare, many not exceeding $200.00) then why not,but still the Air Soft Rifle isn't,well,in much of need since your firing essentially 6mm balls at a muzzle velocity on average of about 450-650 fps, those are going to fall out of the sky at about 25ms.
@fixdeluxe1 most airsoft rifles don't have the range to be able to use this scope. however, a high quality airsoft sniper rifle which shoots about a football field will use one of these scopes quite effectively. only the trash airsoft guns are under $200, while high quality guns are more in the range of $500-800, and are made of high-end materials. remember, an airsoft gun IS a gun, it's just that real-steel fires much deadlier ammunition.
@tombstone312 Alright, but then you would be referring to an Air Rifle, which is a piece of kit that needs a high quality sight and you SHOULDN'T be using those in an Airsoft match. They can penetrate human skin and basic clothing at ranges of up to 100ms.
actually, no. they make airsoft rifles that are capable of shooting about a football field in the right airsofters' hands, and the bb's won't penetrate skin, and the safe distance where it is %100 safe is at least about 50 feet at an airsoft field for a long-range rifle, and that's so they don't get complaints. at 50 feet with a t-shirt, it'll sting and you might get a mark depending on what you're wearing. just because a scope is a quality scope doesn't mean airsofters waste their $ on accuracy
Hey, awesome video. I'm planning on buying a similar scope, a Center Point 3-9x50 and was wondering what scope mount you would recommend. Would I need one with a high profile to compensate for the large 50mm objective lens?
hey nice vid i had a few questions about this scope though, i have a regular 3-9X40 scope on my UTG L6 and it is getting pretty fuzzy, is this scope clear? and also what is the adjustment knob on the front you were talking about do? and one more thing what is a mil dot? im new to these scopes and was wondering thanks.
@bil333336 it is clear. The front adjustment sets the focus of the crosshair to the same distance you wan to shoot so your eye doesn't have to adjust focus between the crosshairs and the target. Mil dots are the little dots on the crosshairs that help when compensating for bullet drop and if you want to use a formula for determining distance to the target.
@bil333336 The mil-dots are really easy to use, an example: I place a bottle at X distance. I know that the bottle is 30 cm long, you have to know how long is the bottle in inches to determine the distance in meters. I know that my bottle has 11.8 inches and when I see throught my mil-dot scope I notice the bottle is covered by 3 dots from the center of the scope, 3 dots down. So apply this formula: 25.4 times 11.8 (long in inches of bottle) divided by 3 (number of mil-dots)=99.90 or 100mts.
@dajayhawks11 you don't need a battery on illumanted scopes. The crosshairs are there regardless of batteries. Since you're in the US just google the scope to see where to get it.
@grannman No, it's not that I wasn't strong enough. I was afraid I was going to break it, and with the windage adjustment, it didn't take much presure at all to unscrew. I finally got it though, after tuging on it for like a hour.
@KainsVison make sure you're unscrewing rather than tightening it and just grit your teeth and unscrew it. If it breaks then you need to return the scope. Currently the scope is useless if you can't use the elevation turret.
thanks for posting, would it be worth buying one of these for my air rifle? i can take rabbits at 40 yards but after that my scope starts to struggle its a 4x32 or would this be over-kill...how much was it btw?

emkplayboy6 2 months ago
@emkplayboy6 yes, see the video description for the .22lr I've mounted mine on. Due to the recoil and shock of a piston in a 1000fps air rifle, the air rifle is far harder on scopes than a .22lr.

(i dont mind if its not dual recoil safe) what do you suppose i do?

@imjustwonderful tighten the rings so the scope doesn't slip.
If the scope is slipping rearward in the rings then either the rings are tightened poorly or the rings are too big for the scope tube.

Strange that the screws on the adjustment knobs lock them down. Many scopes they allow you to rotate the knobs without changing the scope adjustment. That was the numbers line up to zero. That way if you are shooting different ranges you and adjust your scope, but always get it back to where it was easily.

did you have to buy mounts for the scope?
if you did buy mounts what are they?
Yodaxx42 1 year ago

@brysonwilliams70 Leapers 5th Gen TF2 Tactical Optics 3-12x40mm is the one im currently considering but it does not have any ratings yet
brysonwilliams70 1 year ago
@brysonwilliams70 I have mine mounted on my Ruger 10/22. I have the 3-9 x 40 version but the 50 version in this video would work fine as well, i would recommend mounts that are a little higher in order to give the scope clearance.

will this scope withstand air-rifle/spring recoil? ive heard that scopes can fall apart from the backward-forward recoil. can you get this in australia? if so, where and for how much?
strathyman 1 year ago
@strathyman All I can say is that I broke one on my gamo shadow 1000 air rifle as you can see in the video description. It could have been a lemon, who knows. I mounted the replacement on my .22lr which has virtually non-existent recoil.
grannman 1 year ago
@grannman fair enough, say i get this scope for an air rifle and it breaks, will UTG/leapers send a replacement? does warranty cover this?
strathyman 1 year ago
@strathyman I'm not aware of Leaper's return policy but I would wager it would cover a breakage within a specified period.
grannman 1 year ago
@grannman its a bit strange that your rifle broke the leapers scope, because iv reasearched this scope and its apparantly specialised for spring/air rifles... so normally that would give me piece of mind, but since urs broke, im still hesitant about buying one...lol. did you buy yours online off ebay orr?
strathyman 1 year ago
@strathyman bought from the NZ dealer nzhunter.com

help!@ i want to get this scope! but does it need a different rail than the one that came with my AGM l96? and what scope rings are they 1 or 2 inch?
1232coolness 1 year ago
@1232coolness you need 1" high profile weaver rings.
grannman 1 year ago
My question to you guys that have the scope on a .22lr, how is it holding up? It looks like a good buy. I have a marlin with some upgrades and a simmons 3-9x32 and i was looking around for a new scope.
aj3071 1 year ago
@aj3071 It works very well on my Remington 597. You could put virtually any scope on a .22lr and not have to worry about it. The .22lr doesn't produce enough recoil to worry even the cheapest of the cheap scopes.
grannman 1 year ago
Whats the range on this with a .22lr? can it hit accurately past 600ft.? or would i be better to go with the 4-16 x 50?
dirtyminded604 1 year ago
@dirtyminded604 .22lr is going to have huge drop at that range and any wind is going to blow your bullet like a leaf regardless of how perfect your rifle or the scope is. That's nearly 200 meters. I'd go for the higher magnification if trying to shoot at that distance.
grannman 1 year ago
@grannman I was missing a 7x7" metal plate with a friend's .22lr. SR-22 Ruger by 1 inch @ 650ft. It was witnessed through a spotter scope. Yes, mind you it was very difficult with an ACOG 4x32, as i had to compensate over 6ft. above poi. Which now made me think when i buy my 10/22 i may want the same version of this scope but with the 4-16 x50. Im just wondering will the 4-16 look to big on a Ruger 10/22? especially with the sunshade?
dirtyminded604 1 year ago
@dirtyminded604 it will look massive on that rifle. Make sure you mount it properly with a weaver base. The 10/22 isn't really known for accuracy, especially at that distance, so with a scope like this you will find you can shoot better than the rifle itself. The rifle will be the limiting factor.
grannman 1 year ago
@grannman Thanks, figured it would look to big. Btw i have to humbly disagree, the 10/22 is known for amazing accuracy right out of the box, and even better once dialed in and after market parts applied.
dirtyminded604 1 year ago
@dirtyminded604 I guess it depends on the benchmark you set for accuracy. 1/2" groups at 50 meters is what I call accurate and if you're 10/22 can do that you've got a special 10/22. My friend has a stainless match bull barrel on his 10/22 and now he can keep up with my Rem 597 at more than 3x the cost. The 10/22 has a name for good dependability and functional accuracy. Truly sharp accuracy out of the box is not a common claim for the standard 10/22.
grannman 1 year ago
@grannman A stock 10/22 will hold 1 inch groups at 50 yards. easily. With a high quality scope, with good zoom and the 10/22 can hit a 12 in. x 12 in. target at 1,000ft.
I'd say that's pretty damn accurate for a .22lr.

Awsome video, thanks

hey does that outer ring you took off when putting on ur sun shade have a protector lens in it, i am just wondering because i play airsoft and i wanted this scope on a sniper rifle and this leapers is pretty expensive and i dont want it to crack if i get hit in the lens.
slaking08 1 year ago
@slaking08 no there is no 'protector lense'. My advice to you is to get the cheapest bargain bin scope you can. Anything else is a waste on an airsoft gun in my opinion.
grannman 1 year ago
@grannman thanks for the advice and reply but buying anything cheap for airsoft isnt worth it. and this is not a waste on airsoft because the lense are soo clear for sniping altho u wont need it any higher than 5x zoom for airsoft. buying a cheap scope for airsoft would be a waste because u cant see well thru blurry lense besides the 3x zoom so u might as well not use it. thanks for the reply tho
slaking08 1 year ago
What is the longest distance you can accurately hit a target with on this scope?
edwardwills 1 year ago
@edwardwills clearly it depends on what you have the scope mounted on.
grannman 1 year ago
8:13 ===> magnification (zoom)
chilidress 1 year ago
yah that is a good thing. i hade a great idea though. say your in a hunting situation. you will only need one pellet so why not load the gun then put it on? then just take it off when you reload? of course thats not true for when you want to screw off in the back yard or at the range. thnx for the reply, hope to hear from you again
GAMOkid26 1 year ago
@GAMOkid26 Far to much completely unnecessary hassle. I'd be gobsmacked if I saw anyone doing that, to put it politely. I've never found the sunshade necessary, and hunting can often require a quick reload.
grannman 1 year ago
i have a question? i have a gamo big cat 1200. if you have the sunshade on, wont the barrel hit the bttom of the sunshade when you cock the gun? this is the only problem i see with buying the scope for my gun plz right back thanx
GAMOkid26 1 year ago
@GAMOkid26 If you choose to screw on the sun shade then, yes, the barrel will hit it when cocking. Good thing sun shades are optional.

I personally use a 3-9x40 but this is a very good piece of optical hardware.
So you would mount this to your Remington 597?

@fixdeluxe1 It's currently on my 597. Suits it well.
grannman 1 year ago
@grannman That's good,glad to hear it.I mount mine on my 10/22.
fixdeluxe1 1 year ago
@fixdeluxe1 I'm thinking about purchasing one for a Ruger 10/22, any probs? zero issues after multiple shots of .22lr? and was this originally built intended for airsoft?
dirtyminded604 1 year ago
@dirtyminded604 No,it's for Rimfire Rifles. Why even put a scope of this quality on some cheap Airsoft Rifle.Get a $100 buck Norinco Scope, they are much cheaper.
Ask Grannman,he's the expert. It's great for plinking.
fixdeluxe1 1 year ago
@fixdeluxe1 Unfortunately many people do. And some airsoft rifles i've seen are far from cheap. Twice the price of the Ruger 10/22 for some models. I know, it's beyond me. The reason i ask is Leapers has a line called UTG intended for airsoft. and many people have put up vids saying UTG for this scope.
dirtyminded604 1 year ago
@dirtyminded604 If it's an expensive Airsoft Rifle(which are rare, many not exceeding $200.00) then why not,but still the Air Soft Rifle isn't,well,in much of need since your firing essentially 6mm balls at a muzzle velocity on average of about 450-650 fps, those are going to fall out of the sky at about 25ms.
fixdeluxe1 1 year ago
@fixdeluxe1 most airsoft rifles don't have the range to be able to use this scope. however, a high quality airsoft sniper rifle which shoots about a football field will use one of these scopes quite effectively. only the trash airsoft guns are under $200, while high quality guns are more in the range of $500-800, and are made of high-end materials. remember, an airsoft gun IS a gun, it's just that real-steel fires much deadlier ammunition.
tombstone312 1 year ago
@tombstone312 Alright, but then you would be referring to an Air Rifle, which is a piece of kit that needs a high quality sight and you SHOULDN'T be using those in an Airsoft match. They can penetrate human skin and basic clothing at ranges of up to 100ms.
fixdeluxe1 1 year ago
actually, no. they make airsoft rifles that are capable of shooting about a football field in the right airsofters' hands, and the bb's won't penetrate skin, and the safe distance where it is %100 safe is at least about 50 feet at an airsoft field for a long-range rifle, and that's so they don't get complaints. at 50 feet with a t-shirt, it'll sting and you might get a mark depending on what you're wearing. just because a scope is a quality scope doesn't mean airsofters waste their $ on accuracy
tombstone312 1 year ago
@tombstone312 Really, well that would be an interesting find.
I'm no expert on weapons that exotic,so you must go and find someone who is.

Hey, awesome video. I'm planning on buying a similar scope, a Center Point 3-9x50 and was wondering what scope mount you would recommend. Would I need one with a high profile to compensate for the large 50mm objective lens?
SirPsychoRHCP 1 year ago
@SirPsychoRHCP I use a leapers one piece high profile mount. High profile is required due to the scope objective size.

Also do you know if all scopes come with the sunshade or did you have to buy a special package or something?
Thanks alot

hey nice vid i had a few questions about this scope though, i have a regular 3-9X40 scope on my UTG L6 and it is getting pretty fuzzy, is this scope clear? and also what is the adjustment knob on the front you were talking about do? and one more thing what is a mil dot? im new to these scopes and was wondering thanks.
bil333336 1 year ago
@bil333336 it is clear. The front adjustment sets the focus of the crosshair to the same distance you wan to shoot so your eye doesn't have to adjust focus between the crosshairs and the target. Mil dots are the little dots on the crosshairs that help when compensating for bullet drop and if you want to use a formula for determining distance to the target.
grannman 1 year ago

KainsVison 1 year ago
@KainsVison what do you mean? Just use a bit of muscle and unscrew the hex screw holding the turret down.
grannman 1 year ago
@grannman No, it's not that I wasn't strong enough. I was afraid I was going to break it, and with the windage adjustment, it didn't take much presure at all to unscrew. I finally got it though, after tuging on it for like a hour.
KainsVison 1 year ago
@KainsVison make sure you're unscrewing rather than tightening it and just grit your teeth and unscrew it. If it breaks then you need to return the scope. Currently the scope is useless if you can't use the elevation turret.
