  • @ppappas12000 That's cool. I still have a 1/3 weeks by Ace in the same colors out in the garage. Zenoha G62 and the same Don Harris smoke pump as was in the Byron. Had the thing built about 13 years ago. Let me know when your vids are posted. Sure would like to see them!

  • It looks like the model is coming in under 20lbs. My smoke oil is Super Dri...free from a friend. Works just ok. I have an ancient Grish prop (rough cut, unfinished) that I am thinking of staining to give it an old time look. Normally I fly my DL50s with Xoar or Zinger 22x10s. Great to see that NightFlyer has found you...I've looked at his vids repeatedly for years for ideas and inspiration. He da man! :-) I'm up here in Canada so I have to wait a bit for the snow to melt. -John

  • Very nice model. I am almost finished refurbishing a 30 year old BO Pitts. The model has been completely reglassed and it is now in the paint booth. I am installing a DL-50 for power. Seeing your model fly so well and with smoke has helped me to decide to install my SmokeWriter. Thanks for the inspiration!

  • @ORCCGuy Thanks for the comment. If you can keep the weight to 20lbs or less would be ideal. I found the zinger 20X6/10 wood prop flew the plane the best overall as opposed to a single pitch prop. And I don't know what you are using for smoke but I used what the airshow piolts use and that was Corvus Oil or Form oil. CHEVRON/TEXACO CANOPUS #13 OIL OR CORVUS #13 OIL. Nothing works better than this! : ) Let me know when you have some video posted of your re-borne Pitts.

    Regards, Dave

  • Nice, excellent flying! Very realistic!

  • @leow626569 Thank you. That was a really fun palne to fly!

  • Absolutely Fabulous and especially dear to my heart, as you know from my Pitts videos. Great job. ~NightFlyyer~

  • @NightFlyyer I really appreciate that comment coming from the King of the Byron Godffrey Pitts! I was sure glad to see you drug yours out of the corner for one more go. It is worth every minute spent. Still can't believe you had a working prop drive. I don't know about you but I smashed the gear off and the rudder finn down on that old pitts more times than I could remember. Bring on the epoxy, glass, and paint and do it all over again. : )
