  • screw the critics gompa..I say if it works ..it works and nothing is as important as the journey. no style is greater than the next I. e. any gun that can shoot is dangerous no matter where it comes from or someone else's raggedy opinion of it. I hate 2 ask personal questions but if you could message me I would greatly appreciate it as I am intereseted in what you would be willing to share. if not, the vid is still very effective. it makes me want to learn more. Thanks

  • Cool stuff. Is this actually Tibetan or is it just the name of the style?

  • @paddotk We are not sure the history is unclear. In my personal view it is an adaptation of Li family Xingyiquan and pressure point attacks, however my teacher claimed it was learned by his ancestors from a Tibetan. We know how to do it we are not sure of its exact origins.

  • @thegompa thanks for the info!

  • caucasians really go in for that 70"s kung fu movie master get-up. too funny. Your humour has merit and you seem entertainment orientated. The demo moves are just pre rehearsed sequences not real time scenarios. I quess everyone finds away to make a living and no one is getting harmed. so it is all good

  • Mr. Frank, You are welcome to your opinion. We wear the traditional Changpao 長袍robe to honor our teacher Li, Long-dao 李 龍 道a former soldier in the army of Chiang Kai-shek. Shifu Li taught us wearing plaid shirt and jeans or such a robe as shown here so we honor him on stage. It is true that this is not real time scenarios; however they are not pre-rehearsed. I would not presume to judge your style. You apparently are schooled in the ability to judge things you have not studied. I am impressed.

  • Amazing

  • Dear @tusii1,

Although the techniques look very simple almost too soft to be real the Blue Heron system is based completely on correct body mechanics and the use of touch to nerve points that can momentarily fool the nervous system into stopping an opponents strikes or kicks. It requires some precise timing but it is nothing that cannot be learned by anyone once they know the methods.

    Thank You

    John P. Painter

  • As a matter of fact the individual in the video is a Karate and Aikido stylist. We often demo this with audience members of other styles. It works just the same. Thank You for your comments.

  • I would also like to see this applied to a live sparring match, with a partner from another style..

  • Nice, I want to learn this.

  • Very nice methods and great personna on the Coach's part. Salutes.

  • Nice explanations!

Now due to all the increase fad of MMA and it's take downs, could you enlighten me in showing some applications? Thank you

  • lu can tien tai hao liang cong mi suo schie-e fu lu han a zhung goa realy understand we like a fan of you welcome man cang lu ha fuenf elemente complement to you

  • As always, great information is shared here.Thank you.

  • Thank You for your question. The answer is simple. Tibetan Blue Heron is part of the Li family style and was never taught publicly. I believe my teacher learned it from his father. Although the legend calls it Tibetan I am pretty sure it was not really from Tibet. It was designed by

Lama Zurdwang when he studied and trained various martial arts in China before teaching the Li family.

There were many Family Styles not taught to the public. See More Info above.

    Thank you

    John Painter.

  • Lama Zurdwang ...

The same that has taught Liang Zhi Xiang (the grandfather of Grandmaster Liang Sou-Yu) the rare O-Meï snake fist ?

    Interesting ...

The knowledge of this man must have been pretty vast ...

just like your, according to what your videos show.

    Great skills, great attitude ...

    thanx the Gompa
