Well done you got fire. To me the size of your bow is overkill & the bump is robbing energy from you. The other thing is the loose leaf near cost you your coal. I prefer a piece of wood just wide enough to catch it especially if a bit punky. Remember if it is cold (it always seems to be here) seconds count. Isn't it amazing how many ways there are to do the same thing? The best video I have ever seen on this is the Woods Master Vol#2 "spark based fire making" by Ron Hood....absolutely fantastic! Also check out anything by Alan Halcon, he can get a coal in 6.5 seconds!
If you go to my site & look at playlists camping, look for bow & drill one. I have a video I made especially for persons that wrote me on how I am a puter geek & never saw a bow drill.
