@rubrostro , its just a solar tactical mag lock . you can get them from calegalmags com . it has four screws and clamps on to the trigger guard, and of course you have to use only 10 rd mags.

@coolbuddykermit -the Democrats now control cali. they have also introduced a bill to ban the open carry of unloaded rifles. They almost got a single payer insurance law up for a vote last week , it failed. soon there will be a Democrat supermajority and their great laws will be unstoppable. Still hoping recent rullings on the 2nd Amendment filter down to us behind enemy lines in Komifornia.

@leicamaster - If you buy one, be sure to buy it new. they have been known to have build quality issues. if its new its warrantied. sometimes you get a great gun sometimes you get a lemon.

@leicamaster - There's no telling. they range from jamming to loose parts. some are perfect. thats why you should only buy one new. the factory will replace it until its right.

I hate California laws luckily I live in Kansas. I have one of these guns and had major jamming from the start I was very upset. After hearing about the Wolff Extra Power recoil spring fixing the issue I got one. Shot today with no jams at all. My gun was getting jammed up on the trigger group the bolt would hang up after 5 shots or so. When I first got it it jammed so bad I had to take the gun apart just to unjam it.

@kingangelable -google, (calegalmags) and go to their (CA. Compliance Products) page and click on the ak. you can chose the solar tac one or the bullet button. john, also sells mags and other cali compliance stuff at a fair price.

Some cops say that if you convert the IO to use a pistol grip then you have created an Assault weapon with a bullet button. Basically you made an illegal weapon that must be registered as an Assault weapon which they won't do. Some people say you can also run a pre-ban 30 rd magazine with the bullet button but cops say that won't fly as well. Who actually knows? Felony

1. bullet button makes it legal. ages ago a judge ruled that installing one created a condition of having a "fixed attachable mag" as opposed to "detachable mag". so it cannot be an assault weapon.

2. according to the shitty law,adding any mag with a capacity of more than 10rds with any other of a list of features will also classify it an "assault weapon". this gun is nothing more than a "long gun" by legal standards.

@FutureMarineDevilDog - in cali it has to have the mag lock, and a mag of no more than 10 rounds. all other guns that have a detatchable mag and "assualt weapon" features have to have been registgered in 2000. the mag lock is not permanent. so if yo move to a free state you can change it back to normal. normal is a no go in cali unless your a cop .

@BigJ782011 . like I said . i like them but they are hella expensive these days for haveing no real modular ability. with an AR you can have one rifle do multiple roles. an inexspensive upper swap can turn it from a close quarter gun to a long range shooter . a mini is stuck with the barrel and caliber you get. i can build an ar for about $150 more than buying a standard MIni.

@BigJ782011 -love them. they just cost an arm and a leg. check out my AR10 video. i built/assembled that rifle for under $1,700. the cheapest basic socom was $1,600. If i had more money i would buy one as well but I am limited to what i have so i chose the platform i enjoy the most- which has been the armalite pattern.

@pharettface could be true. the gun looked like it had some nice machining . the only problem in my friends was the front sight barrel or the sight itself being out of spec. pulled the trigger and the whole front sight post would shift to one side. i could push the sight barrel with my finger and it would slide over. I think theres potential with this company. hope they have gotten better.

@javelin005 Yeah I had one from 2008 that had some issues like that took them 3 times to get it right but they are getting better. I think every company has some break in time. I found now that the new ones have a much better quality to them they are accually worth more now haha. I have two wasrs that just don't compare especially accuracy wise. I am one to get it perfect from a company if it drives them crazy so I know IO inc staff pretty well.

Sad I hope they iron out their growing pains and at some point provide a solid U.S. offering. I have owned guns that people call crap and have had nothing but good experiences with them.

@jt72856 -the finish on this gun was great. sadly the quality control is not. the front sight barrel was out of spec and moved immiedietly upon firing. this gun wont hold a zero. i returned this gun to my friend already . not sure what he's going to do about it.

@shinnecockwarrior - yeah , it used to be cool. it all changed years ago. before the stockton shooting in 89 you could walk into any gun shop and walk out with an ak the same day. now we have all kinds of restrictions and you have to wait 10 days to pick it up.
