il bello di alcune canzoni di Bruce è che pur durando diversi minuti si fanno ascoltare tranquillamente senza darti l'idea dell'effettiva durata...questa non la conoscevo e la senzazione data è questa...
@MrMusicalsoul, I wonder if you are referring to the section of the song about 4 minutes in where the narrator seems to be acknowledging someone who has left his life - the part about the "Event horizon". If you mean that the sadness and meaningless noise of this peace reflects that sadness of loss, I would agree with you.
A great song from one of Cockburn's lesser-known albums. Hugh Marsh, who plays the electric violin on this song, is probably the best musician Cockburn has ever played with. This album followed Cockburn's divorce, and even though most of the songs aren't specifically about that, the overall feel of the album is revealingly dark.
Bruce Cockburn is an Inspiration...Fantastic music and lyrically so rich. Can't get a better "combo" than that. His guitar playing is inspiring and this is an obscure song and a hidden gem. Had the album at one time.
@brianl890 I love this song, checkk out the video I made, I returned home after 17 years away, walked the streets, played music with old friends, listened to bruce.

This is what love sounds like when love is gone. A lot of noise! No one is really listening anyway! They've already moved on!

His voice is not as good as in his other songs, but the raggedness and a sloppiness to his voice makes the song spooky. Very good.

This is a great version. There's a slightly faster version on MUMMY DUST, but this one's better.

For twenty some years, I've wondered why no one I know has ever known has heard this song until I play it for them. Amazing electric violin.

Brian, I still have the vinyl to all BC releases... could never part with them, unlike Alice Cooper or Led Zepplin. This is a Timeless Musician.
