I commented on another video that this is actually an incredible test for vocal technique. One of those pieces often mistakenly given to beginners when it is in fact probably one of the hardest pieces in the repertoire to pull off. A little like Mozart, it exposes the voice to very harsh scrutiny.
I said in the other video that THAT was my favorite YouTube version. I am changing that vote.
Courage in all those who have the absence of a liked person and who are sad but God is take her(it) the strength in your Despair and you will become Strong listen to these singings(songs) who gives you peace and love Also listen to on the same site MAGPIE JESUS RICCIVITTORIO or Glorious Hymn has Saint Antoine de Padoue - Ricci Vittorio OR TYPE Ricci vittorio or inno glorioso has sant antonio di padova Vittorio Ricci - arrivederci - honor to the deaths - ONE thank you
I'm 15(almost 16) and i'm a tenor 1 in my choir. i can sing very high before goin falsetto and when i do i can sing with the sopranos in my choir. I was interested if you could give me advice on how to becoming a counter tenor and where i would go to train to become one. Very well done btw. I performed this for IHSA contest in an octave lower and got a perfect score but would love to be able to sing it in this key
From what I know there are two main types of countertenors, those whose normal speaking voice is bass or baritone and those with a tenor speaking voice. Some people consider the bass-baritone countertenor to be falsettist counter tenors and those people would say that the tenor countertenor is more the male-alto/male-soprano. (this is not my opinion) I would suggest doing the research to find a voice teacher who has handled countertenors before you hurt your voice in the attempt to train it.
Amazing counter tenor! this arrangement is a wee bit to trill-y for my taste, but all the more power to you for making it sound good. bravi bravissimi
If you would like a practice midi file of this aria, please specify a tempo and key and give me an e-mail address, and I will send it to you right away. Thanks for commenting and listening!
WOW!!! I am extremely impressed! The voice, the control, the interpretation, the trills....everything!!! That's unusual for me...I'm typically overly critical! But you are really good!!!
I will be happy to provide the practice midi files. In what key would you prefer them? Also, where would you like me to e-mail them? Thanks for listening!
thank you so much for posting this. it's clear and lovely. i needed it to make sure i was singing it right. my vocal instructor assigned it to me because we were working on vowels and well, i forgot some of the tune to the last parts. however, i am singing this from the mezzo-soprano/alto book. :]
wow! This is totaly not what i was expecting! I'm doing this today solo ensemble, a big solo contest... and i was just looking for a version of this song that starts on a low d to practice with... and you looked like a bass... not a soprano! Amazing, koodos
I am currently working on that song, but actually for bariton, i would never reach tunes like you do.
I´ve some constructive comments: i noticed that you sometimes kinda press your voice from above. i think this is a result of your breathing technique. try not to brath with your chest but with your stomach. this is a common breathing technique, which is easy to learn. im pretty sure your voice would even sound more awesome then!
Wow. Never too late to start a career, Sir. You're amazing. You totally have your place on stage, and with your appearance, you could play kings, etc. Kudos.
Other than the occasional opera gala where I can pick my own aria, I have most often sung tenor in public. In any case, I am largely self-taught, having studied voice for only about four months during college thirty three years ago.

I thought this was very good! Better than all the young sopranos on Youtube attempting this. Your voice reminded me somewhat of Russell Oberlin.

You do have a very nice sense of period style BUT there are several Italian diction errors. You might want to go over this with a diction coach.

Hey, would you mind sending me a midi of this in Bb, just a bit faster in tempo than this one? That would be wonderful.

What an awesome counter tenor you are! I'm a counter tenor in training and that was awesome.
jrock0169 3 years ago
Terrific. You've got an excellent voice, technique to spare, and your interpretation is very restrained (unusual for this repertoire).
I'm learning this aria in d-minor (baritone), and would be happy to sing it half as well as you.
