Fantastic Planet...ah yes I remember buying this CD back in High school for the song "Stuck on you" but stayed for the whole album! Leo, Another space song, the nurse who loved me etc..Mr. Andrews was awesome
I wish this song went on forever and that I could live within it. And that the last bit went on for longer. I've never been in love with a song like I am with this one.
@stevensmodrnlife That's cool. Try listening to the entire album. Words can't adequately describe it. It's just one of those things that came together perfectly and probably won't happen again for a long time.
@Backwatermuslim true true, i guess if you think of it that way it evens the odds. oh and this song really has a deftones kind of feel to it even though Failure was out first.
Greg Edwards wrote the lyrics to this song after seeing a news story about a space walk to repair a satellite or something that went wrong. True story!
Wow... I just saw the movie from the 70's Fantastic Planet and (you can find the movie on youtube) there was a sound of a sort of trafficlight thing, and it just makes exactly the same sounds with the same pitch as the intro of this song. Awesome!
I just watched it too, when i heard the same combination of tones, I had a similar feeling you get when you see someone you know driving in a car in a busy intersection... Beautiful.
@THErealJEBUSdude i have a shit taste in music because im on failure putting a replay button? you, clearly are the retarded one, have fun in grade 9 tomorrow morning.
I could die to this song. I feel like drifting through space listening to it. If only space rock would be a more dominant force instead the indie rick clones that drive me fucking nuts.
The first time I ever saw or heard of Failure was when they opened for TOOL in 1994 during their Undertow tour. It was the first small show I had ever been to and it it was a religous experience. It is the best show I have ever seen and or will most likely ever see. TOOL was amazing and Failure was a perfect opener. It was a religous experience.
it's the firts time i heard this band buy mistake... it's incredible this album, when i search about failure i notice it was a 90's rock band.. 90's!!!! it's amazing how the world change and produce shitting things, what happen to us.. what happen to the real alternative music?? can somebody tell me
id have to agree with the majority here: A) This song is absolutely EXCELLENT for getting through tougher times. B) Reminds me of the great hey day of the 90's when experimentation and unique production were so key. God I miss that.
@zapz0rd not even close to ahead of their time, but it is great, check out flying saucer attack, they did the same type thing for a whole album in '94
I has the misfortune of finding out of failure when Hopesfall broke up....but theres an up and coming band from my hometown of jacksonville FL that sounds like a new version of space rock called "BEING-The Mind of Solaris" check them out. If you like Failure, Hum, Ocean Size, Hopesfall..you will DEFINETLY dig these guys!!!!!
such an amazing song. Id love to have see them make it big, but at the same time im glad they still just have a cult following! its like theyre still 'my' band hehe
Well I've listened to Fantastic Planet and Magnified and I have to say that those were some of the best albums I've listened to in a LONG time. Failure has become one of my all time favorite bands. Now the hard part is just trying to find these guys. I believe they are on Itunes but I prefer the actual cd because I'm weird like that...so anyone have suggestions? Also how did any of the slightest recognition elude failure? I mean if it wasn't for APC I would never have discovered them.
Mass recognition eluded Failure because right as they were on the verge of semi-stardom, the band imploded due to drug problems. Check out their documentary GOLDEN; watch it with the commentary on, as the video without the commentary is quite dull....it's amazing a band this good never got a fraction of the recognition they deserved. That's the music biz for you!
check out a band called floater, they have never signed any big record deals and they stay in Oregon, they are SOOO good. Seriously, check out a song called DEAD or God-Gun.
My favorite song on my most favorite album.

@Killer30deathking There have been covers of this by a few bands. This is the original and at the original "tympo".
