I have just ordered one in France, a middle range model the "Trend Pack" with optional velour carpets, tinted glass and rear reverse beepers, the Americans models have a larger engine a1600cc, and the grille is different there, they are selling damn well in Europe, I like the styling and top reviews they are getting!
It seems to be very expensive in the US. Here in Finland the base model costs about 13000 euros and we have a really high car tax. It should be something like 8000-9000 dollars in the US.
Bought our fiesta about six weeks ago and to be honest, I DON'T LIKE IT !. don't like the gearbox, first gear is far too low and only 5 gears means it's not as quiet or economical as it could be.
the handling feels secure but the ride is bone jarring hard.
the parking sensors are basic and the sensativity seems to vary.
It is economical (compared to the much larger grand picasso I had previously) but don't expect to get the mpg figures ford qoute. Not as good as first appears.
@zambimaru why? just assembled in mexico, it's still a European inspired car with parts from around the world. Just put together in Mexico, plus what's wrong with mexico, they know what their doing.
@AronAirlines For awhile, Ford preferred the term 5-door over hatchback (some there thought the American market reacted negatively to the hatchback term). I see now in their media materials they are calling it a 5-door hatchback.
Not only do they have them in Europe, they also have them throughout latin america, and they had them for a long time. I have seen them in Argentina and Chile. Even the new Fiestas there are exactly the same.
@e45630 I am learning to drive in the UK in a 2011 ford fiesta automatic (the more basic model) I really like it is so easy to drive in the only issue is the seats are a little to low the blind spot mirror though is not really a feature in my mind it is a necessity because you cannot see out of the back of the car at all I still look though because the instructors like it even though you cannot see anything.
I "expected" it to be built like it wasn't thrown together in a hurry !.
It's irrelevent now, as it is history !.

Fiestas are really nice cars, personally I think they are the best in class.

i'm not fond of small cars, but new fiesta is something different. Donn't know how good it is sold in America, but Germans really like it .
