@xvoy2002 In the book the movie is based off of, Indrid Cold was human looking and claimed he was from another planet. John Keel points out how the entities that play their little games on mankind use the 'name game' where they choose a name with a meaning. There was a complicated clue behind Indrids name. But the movie made Mothman and Cold both the same being, this was done to make the movie flow better as most of the accounts in the book have very odd links to eachother.
OmG ! Y did he call hisself Indrid Cold, or Cole or sumthin ? That's hard 2 let the mind comprehend as truth .. Man this world is insane.. Do u think he's from space and his purpose is 2 do good cuz sum people believe he's the cause of missin people, includin 3 little boys sum time ago ?
I haven't gotten a chance to read the book yet, but from what I can gather from Wikipedia and some other websites dedicated to The Mothman Prophecies, Indrid Cold was not John Keel, nor was he the "Mothman." I also gathered from the websites that the movie and the book differed quite substantially from one another. I would suggest reading the book, or at least go to some websites dedicated to the eye witness accounts of what happened. Remember, the movie is BASED on true events.
The film was "loosely" based on true events. When something is "based" on truth, it only means that factual events INSPIRED the film. The only "true" events were that 100's of people in P.Pleasant saw Mothman in the days or wks prior to the Silver Bridge collapse. There were also a number of people who claimed to see Mothman actually on or near the bridge at the time of its collapse while Keel supposedly received hints of impending disaster. Just about everything else was Hollywood.
I can tell you what happen to that car. It's mine now, lol. Good find Dan! I was wondering why there was a different name on the title other than the guys below. No since in paying the tax on something you own a week, lol
The car lost the smell, but I think it all moved to the bag that contains all the movie memorabilia.
Last night I bought the Bimmer that was used in this scene - fully unaware that this was a movie car till the guy gave me the title. Completely random but it came with a few things from the movie: microphone used, random script, and title from the production company. Sidenote: the car smells of horsehair and Richard Gere.
This movie was fun to make but was a little creepy. I drove my car in a few scenes in the movie and was also a survivor which must have gotten cut. Anyway all kinds of things started happening to my car after filming was over. Even though I just had the engine replaced, I started to have trouble with it and the engine had to be replaced again. The mechanic called me and said that the strangest thing happened. When they put oil in the new engine, it all leaked out like the car was possessed.
when i was a young, i would experience some really weird things like bieng trapped in a box and then suddenly let out after i stopped the panic, but it was real. I also can see right through people. Sometimes i would be going in one derection and all of the sudden i would be somewhere else in a fraction of a second and i know it is my mind power traveling in time that makes it real. i also have had many visions and believe those visions to be a sign.I am waiting on my seventh vision to be born.
Dude, who are you to say that something ain't real or not? I don't believe you were in Point Pleasant to disprove the accounts. Ya don't like it...GET OVER IT!!!!
The movie should have focused more on Mothman himself instead of trying to cover so much "unrelated" psychic phenomenona that they don't really explain like that Cold guy
Did you forget that you are traveling through time? The first time machine is already being developed, not for transportation of matter, but of information.
I believe in time travel. When I was young back in the 60's and an older man came up to me at the park that looked a lot like me. He gave me a dollar bill dated 2007. I realized in later life that it was me. I know that for a fact because I just gave it back to myself. Woops I need to take my medication now! Lets get real now!
Mothman was made up back in the 60's and 70's during the big UFO scare. The truth is out there ..hahahehe!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe mendez72 meant: "Fake ass story." Using correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling just doesn't cut it these days. Or maybe that's because ignorance is the new informed.
The year was in the summer of 1960 I was six years old living in core west virgina
I will never forget that day! It had red eyes and the size of a grown man with arms and legs and what I remember it was all gray. sorry this is too horrifing can't finish this
I wondered the very same about aliens, ufos and bigfoot, loch ness and what more.... People are often ignorant idiots and WANT to believe in these fantastical things...
The intelligent responce would be to keep an open mind as many a thing we take for granted now was considered ridiculous, even heretical, just a mere hundred years prior. For example, people claimed to see 'falling star' hit the earth. Up until the late 1800 scientists believed this to be insane and did not believe in meteorites impacting the earth.
We humans have such a long history of arrogant boasting that it is almost guarenteed that if we say something cannot be possible then is most often the case that it most definitely is possible. Examples of things people belived impossible but proven true: Flight, Breaking the Sound Barrier, Meteorites Striking the Earth, Computuers, Global Warming, Time Travel, Vaccines for certain Cancers, Natural Immunity to HIV, and the list goes on...
if you look closely the mothmans form resembles accurately an angels when in flight. red eyes are common as well in demonic photographs, and even in descriptions of anything involving evil beings. so theres no doubt in my mind that he is some sort of demonic angel who signifies death.
not the good kind may i add. take for example how everyone who sees him ends up dying. no one lives after looking death in the eyes. another thing, there are 2 pictures going around that i believe are authentic, taken by people who were present when the bridge collapsed.
ok heres the deal people i have done some research on the background of this "mothman" and to put it bluntly, i have also studied other things such as religion and so forth, and i am not what youd say religious but i believe in god i just dont claim to know what he looks like or if the whole bible thing is really real. ok. now, from the info i have gathered i have to say that i believe "mothman" is not some sort of "mothman" but rather he is some kind of angel.
this mothman thing is no joke, one night i left the window open and a moth flew in my room ,
anyway i got a paper(as you do) and i swotted that damn moth and as i killed it i said,i fucking hate moths, anyway that mothman appeared outside my window, it was about 1 at night and i shit myself and drew the curtains closed, this is true story , the mothman is real ladies and gents.
What if Mothman isn't a person but some sort of vision you have that represents misfortune, but the odd thing is that people say he could physically touch things meaning he is a physical being, but what kind of being is the true question.
The Mothman Sightings began in the late 50's and kept going to present times. The odd thing about him though -or her- is that he is seen commonly at the TNT Depot.
