Heh, I love comments like this. did you realise the van was SCRAP before it was done up for tour. If anything we saved it from non-existence. It won't be to everyone's taste, but we kept one extra van on the road (bearing in mind no one else was gonna spend the money needed).

It was used for a skateboard tour across Europe - hence the extra toys. We did convert a mini city into a hardcore racing mini (and then wrote it off - d'oh)

Correction. It was trashed when it was bought. ££,£££ was spent getting it ready for a tour across Europe. It was due to be parted out, so either it was 'saved', or another one bites the dust.

Great job! But with all that did you have battery problems? Well maybe you put an alternator. Alpine? is the best! Love that van.

Yeah battery was an issue. It has a mains hook-up near one of the wheel arches, and the necessary protection to run from a generator. Even driving with the stereo on full-whack would run down the battery. There's an extra leisure battery of course, but stood still, both batteries last about 30 minutes on a full charge!

Sweet. My beautiful old Kombi was stolen earlier this year. Some shitheads came and loaded her onto the back of a truck & just drove away. Lady D was my pride & joy - My Dad & I bought it after Mum died & just drove around Australia for months until we felt better. These buses have some good magic.
