Therefore they were a direct threat to the new regime in England.
Parliament did not want Ireland used by a foreign power as a stepping stone from which to attack England.

Cromwell summoned the town of Drogheda to surrender - they refused.
In the accepted rules of combat in the 17th century he had every right to put all found in arms in the town to the sword.
This he did.
Cromwell won, the Irish Confederates lost.
Get over it.

He slaughtered women and children in Drogheda.
He ethnically cleansed 1/4 of the population of this country. So politely fuck off and stop trying to justify the massacre of innocents

Please produce one eye-witness account that claims non-combatants were killed or even attacked in either Drogheda or Wexford.
Also provide first hand evidence that Cromwell ordered the death of non-combatants.

Name one eye witness source that claims Cromwell was either involved in or ordered the deaths of non-combatants during his time in Ireland.
Just one name and their quotation, that's all I ask.
