Why on earth didn't he simply hoist her up off her feet, dump her down on that bench and then scuttle off away as far as possible from the woman - not only was she pestering him no end but he was also not at all interested in her. She was clearly annoying him.
dont get me wrong, i really think this high singing voice matches perfectly to the way Debbie acts in this scen (!! which is so cute!!) , but still i find it strange that someone who sings so well herself agreed to be voiced over... anyway it is totaly adorable!
Debbie Reynolds had no say, whenever to be voiced over or not. this was debbies first role she is playing "Helen Kane the original Boop Oop a Doop Girl". & if you had heard debbies interview she states that this was what made her rise to fame. Helen Kane was asked to do the voice-over, its only right becuse debbie is playing Helen in the actual movie.
@SecretlyyNerdy That is Debbie Reynolds lipsynching to the actual voice of Helen Kane. The song was written by the great songwriting duo of Harry Ruby and Bert Kalmar, and is from the movie biography of the two men called Three Little Words and starring Fred Astaire and Red Skelton.
@tarthead This actually isn't really Debby Reynolds singing. I believe this is infamous Helen Kane whose stardom rose during the mid 20's and 30's. She is most famously known for the voice of Betty Boop.
Dude, This is a flippin classic! Thanks for adding it! I love her facial expressions! So cute! Well, except that last smile, kinda strange xDD but it's awesome! Gotta love her.
Haha. You bet. I want to find Two Weeks with Love and I wanna see the full version of Aba Daba Honeymoon. It was charming...and amazing when she did it with Carleton Carpenter.
He is handsome

Carleton Carpenter is so underrated, ya'll. Love him. As well as Debbie but y'know.

Helen Kane was the only one that could do Helen Kane. I can instantly tell when someone tries to impersonate her. Her voice can't be matched.
