  • That is a fantastic story! I sure wish I had been able to talk to the man who created this beautiful music!

Pardon me, but what on earth does "Miss Germany 1932" have to do with piano music?

  • Thanks for the correction. I changed the title. I hope you do reissue all of Elizalde's solos on a cd. My husband actually talked with Elizalde on the telephone in the 1960's. He got his phone number in the Phillipines and called him. I really envy my husband to have actually gotten to talk with Elizalde. He was a teenager then and said his parents got mad at him when they saw the long distance telephone calls to the Phillipines and the cost of the calls on their phone bill.

  • This is excellent - I'm enjoying ALL of your Elizalde videos - I'm collecting 78s of his piano solos in order to issue a CD of them...

However, this piece is NOT Tickling Julie - and is rather his 'Siam Blues'. It is quite possible the record label says the former, but I am almost positive this piece is Siam Blues..

Anyways - Thanks for sharing.. I'm particularly enjoying Rhythm Step as well..

  • My husband said his parents made him get a part time job to earn money to repay them for the phone calls. Elizalde sent my husband 2 original photos taken of the Elizalde band on the steps of the Hollywood record company. That is really special to my husband. To have Fred Elizalde himself send 2 original pictures of his band to my husband. I uploaded a scan of one of the pictures to several of my Elizalde videos here.
