The earth has been cooling since 1998. C02 does not cause catastrophic warming. Doubling in c02 concentrations causes an increase of 0.5c. Which is pithy. Not to mention warmer climates are safer, and more bountiful, than colder ones.

Atmospheric CO2 levels during the most recent ice age were much lower than what they are now. Atmospheric CO2 during the ice age averaged about 220 ppm, today it's over 390 ppm.

11/23/09, (AP) Mauna Loa, Global warming gases have built up to record levels in the atmosphere, from emissions that match scientists' worst-case scenarios.
Carbon dioxide concentrations this fall are hovering at around 385 parts per million, on their way to a near-certain record high above 390 in the first half of next year, at the annual peak.
"For the past million years we've never seen 390. You have to wonder what that's going to do," said physicist John Barnes, the observatory director.
We make 90 million tons of EXTRA CO2 each DAY. That's 3.4% of the natural production.
Atmospheric CO2 is rising 2ppm per year (0.5%), TWICE that of 50 years ago, and CO2 levels are 35% above the highest levels for 650,000 years.
85% of our CO2 is dissolved in the oceans, and in 30 years CO2 will reach 450ppm which most oceanographers warn will acidify oceans enough to interfere with the growth of many calcium carbonate forming planktons and corals.
Firstly, you have your facts all wrong. If levels go lower than 200 ppm, all plant life will die. CO2 levels during the jurasic period were near the 8,000 ppm levels and that is why plants were so big and O2 levels were above 25%.
For northern countries like Canada, the higher levels will help our grain production plus the resulting higher levels of O2 will help people and animals.

i have a couple reasons in the last 2 years we have seen record decreases in temperature. Oh and during the medieval period no pollution was taking place and the Earth was warmer than it is now. During the Jurrasic period there were no ice caps and life flourished on Earth.

If you are speaking of CRF. It's not too difficult to refute that:
The CRF (cosmic ray flux) warming mechanism was proposed by Shaviv and Veizer in 2003 based on previous work by Shaviv. The paper received a great deal of criticism because they introduced "artificial enhancements" to increase the correlation, without which the model was statistically insignificant in explaining climate. (They weren't exactly lying, but they had no mechanism to justify their enhancements. Bad science!) Dr. Gavin Schmidt from the NASA Goddard Institute was one of 11 authors who published a criticism Shaviv's paper and methods (EOS, vol 85, p 38). (cont.)
The main reason Veizer was interested in this idea was that there seemed to be an inexplicably cool ocean temperature back in the Silurian when CO2 levels were very high. Veizer renounced this position in 2007 when he (and a group he was working with) found a better way to measure the ancient ocean temperature for that period, and learned that the ocean was indeed quite warm back then.
Anyone who cites Veizer as a denier, or who claims the climate was cool back when CO2 was even higher than now, needs to see Veizer's latest work. Shaviv has pretty much no one left on his side in the science community. His idea is just too tenuous and when you explain it in full detail it's obvious why, just by Occam's razor: The AGW (anthropogenic global warming) model goes: CO2 traps heat from the sun; we're increasing CO2, so it's getting hotter. (Simple!) (cont.)
The CRF model goes: Periodically increased solar wind (flares) stimulates the Earth's magnetic field, which in turn inhibits the penetration of cosmic rays from space into the atmosphere. Cosmic rays nucleate cloud formation, so fewer of them means less clouds. (cont.)
However, low altitude clouds contribute to global cooling while high altitude clouds contribute to global warming, so somehow the low altitude clouds are not forming while the high altitude clouds are forming at least as well as normal. (cont.)
Even when you say it, it sounds stupid. The cloud formation data does not support the theory, neither does the data on latitudinal differences in CRF. (More rays should be able to penetrate near the poles where the magnetic field is weaker.)
This theory is pretty much dead to everyone but Shaviv and a few deniers who are desperate for any excuse to escape the conclusion Anthropogenic Global Warming is real!

The earth has been cooling since 1998. C02 does not cause catastrophic warming. Doubling in c02 concentrations causes an increase of 0.5c. Which is pithy. Not to mention warmer climates are safer, and more bountiful, than colder ones.

Atmospheric CO2 levels during the most recent ice age were much lower than what they are now. Atmospheric CO2 during the ice age averaged about 220 ppm, today it's over 390 ppm.

I can point you to the study that shows Co2 makes 2.9% of all greenhouse gas, and man made Co2 is 3% of that, and Co2 makes up 3.62% of the greenhouse effect. You do the math.
Ice core charts show that Co2 FOLLOWS temp, it does NOT predede it.
LEAD AUTHOR of the IPCC states globalwarming NOT due to anthropogenic gas in "Global Warming or Global Governance".

IPCC underestimate sea ice melt. Summer-time melting of Arctic sea-ice has accelerated far beyond the expectations of climate models. The area of sea-ice melt during 2007-2009 was around 40% greater than the average prediction from IPCC AR4 climate models.

85% of our CO2 is dissolved in the oceans, and in 30 years CO2 will reach 450ppm which most oceanographers warn will acidify oceans enough to interfere with the growth of many calcium carbonate forming planktons and corals.

Firstly, you have your facts all wrong. If levels go lower than 200 ppm, all plant life will die. CO2 levels during the jurasic period were near the 8,000 ppm levels and that is why plants were so big and O2 levels were above 25%.
For northern countries like Canada, the higher levels will help our grain production plus the resulting higher levels of O2 will help people and animals.
Try research before opening your mouth.

they CONTRIBUTE to globle warming. the sun spot cycle goes from weakest to strongest then back to weakest. yet some times, the hottest years happen when sun spot activity is at its peak and at its minimal.
the temerature is rising and accelerating, yet the sun spot cycle isn't accelerating down or up.

i have a couple reasons in the last 2 years we have seen record decreases in temperature. Oh and during the medieval period no pollution was taking place and the Earth was warmer than it is now. During the Jurrasic period there were no ice caps and life flourished on Earth.

Scientific skepticism is a healthy thing. Scientists should always challenge themselves to expand their knowledge, improve their understanding and refine their theories. Yet this isn't what happens in global warming denialism. Many denialist vigorously criticise any evidence that supports anthropogenic global warming and yet eagerly, even blindly embrace any argument, op-ed piece, blog or study that refutes global warming.

My problem with GW is that most of the, so called, scientific data is just speculation and cant be reproduced.

Climatologists have been TESTING their models for about twenty years. Prediction, verification, prediction, verification, prediction, verification... for 20 years. The global climate follows solar emisison cycles, on a 28 year cycle. Then clouds inject a good measure of chaos, by doing molecular nuclear fusion. So do growing bacteria, plants in the light, and animal blood systems all day.

If you are speaking of CRF. It's not too difficult to refute that:
The CRF (cosmic ray flux) warming mechanism was proposed by Shaviv and Veizer in 2003 based on previous work by Shaviv. The paper received a great deal of criticism because they introduced "artificial enhancements" to increase the correlation, without which the model was statistically insignificant in explaining climate. The main reason Veizer was interested in this idea was that there seemed to be an inexplicably cool ocean temperature back in the Silurian when CO2 levels were very high. Veizer renounced this position in 2007 when he (and a group he was working with) found a better way to measure the ancient ocean temperature for that period, and learned that the ocean was indeed quite warm back then.

Anyone who cites Veizer as a denier, or who claims the climate was cool back when CO2 was even higher than now, needs to see Veizer's latest work. Shaviv has pretty much no one left on his side in the science community. His idea is just too tenuous and when you explain it in full detail it's obvious why, just by Occam's razor: The AGW (anthropogenic global warming) model goes: CO2 traps heat from the sun; we're increasing CO2, so it's getting hotter. The CRF model goes: Periodically increased solar wind (flares) stimulates the Earth's magnetic field, which in turn inhibits the penetration of cosmic rays from space into the atmosphere. Cosmic rays nucleate cloud formation, so fewer of them means less clouds. (cont.)

However, low altitude clouds contribute to global cooling while high altitude clouds contribute to global warming, so somehow the low altitude clouds are not forming while the high altitude clouds are forming at least as well as normal. (cont.)

Even when you say it, it sounds stupid. The cloud formation data does not support the theory, neither does the data on latitudinal differences in CRF. (More rays should be able to penetrate near the poles where the magnetic field is weaker.)
This theory is pretty much dead to everyone but Shaviv and a few deniers who are desperate for any excuse to escape the conclusion Anthropogenic Global Warming is real!
