  • I gotta admit, I was surprised Kris nailed SOPHISTICATED Things on that one clue....that was a killer category.

  • John D was awful. He ruined a great show.

  • Okay, MUST those trilons move like that after the win???

  • IS THAT DUSTIN HOFFMAN AS TOOTSIE AT THE END?

  • @DartsRme312 Tootsie! Too funny!!!

  • Notice in the background after she wins, the numbers jiggle back and forth.

  • OMG Davidson STHU, there was no reason 4 you to speak. IMO he like hearing the sound of his own voice.

  • I have to ask---was this Kris' third attempt at the $100,000 if anybody knows? It's given this was the 9th attempt at the $100,000 for the second tournament in the JD era.

  • Things that CLICK and SOPHISTICATED Things were the toughies...IMO.

  • the second-highest winner in pyramid history, i think. $147,750, if my memory serves me right

  • Shut up, John Davidson.

  • why do i cry watching these ?

  • Robin Riker was a great cluegiver and she was also a Veteran of this Game as well as a Veteran of Television and she's currently on The Bold and the Beautiful

I'll bet that Robin Riker wished that Mr. Clark was still hosting the show and NOT John Davidson

Dick Clark and Bill Cullen would ALWAYS give the celebs and the civilians their winning moments and as for John Davidson, I liked him on Time Machine, but NOT Pyramid and as for Donny Osmond his version of the show was WAY WAY overrated.

  • my sister judy? wasn't expecting that, and the way she said it it's like she knew that it was hard to tell lol

  • Davidson was the worst host with the "sit down" obsession.

  • Aren''t "elegant" and "sophisticated" synonyms? Anyway, a good clue would have been "Duke Ellington's lady".

  • No, elegant and sophisticated aren't synonyms.

  • When he said "Thats our tournement" they would be usually the first time you would have seen or heard Dick after a $100,000 win

  • THHHHHA-A-A-A-AT'S ITTTT! YES YES YES Sit down, sit down....

  • Literally what i didn't get about it was: you had to think the DIRECTOR was aware how much of an @ss that Davidson was when he says "sit down, dit down, tell us who these people are". Dick Clark never did that in the middle of a BIG $100,000 win. Didn't SOMEONE on the show think to TELL him? It's not like he was Bob Barker (ie: no one would risk his wrath). The guy barely got the job.

  • @BrentWolgamott I heard somewhere that they even considered Willard Scott as the host for that version...

  • the dancing winner circle squares!

  • I love how she answered "Things that are Sophisticated." Pretty classic!

  • There would have been two buzzers on this in the Clark era, on the "forgotten" clue for "things you remember" and for "elegant" on "sophisticated."

  • No on both counts, Dunnzo. You can always give ANTONYMS, so "forgotten" is fine for "remember". As in "a lost child" for "things you find" ("lost" and "found" are antonyms). For "sophisticated", someone can be "elegant" without being "sophisticated". I mean Vanna White looks elegant on Wheel, but I don't know of ANYONE who would say she is sophisticated, So both clues were fine, in EITHER era.

  • John Davidson seemed to have done an ok job in hosting this show, but he still had a bit of loudness left from hosting "Hollywood Squares". In that he practically had to yell across the set to be heard. Maybe if they would have gotten somebody who wasn't so loud...

  • OK job? That's very generous, as I and many others thought he blew.

  • At least he tried to do a good job. I've seen a clip of John's first episode where it shows Dick Clark wishing him good luck. Dick probably would have done that version if he wasn't already busy with "The Challengers".

  • who is the celebrity giving the clues to the contestant?

  • Robin Riker

  • John Davidson needed to stay the fuck out of the way. His role is game show host not fucking controller.

  • When in 1991?

  • I said when in 1991?

  • Kris McDermont

  • An elegant woman is sophisticated.

  • How about "Duke Ellington's Ladies"?

  • That was definitely a favorite definitive clue. I know Markie Post gave that one on more than one occasion.

  • When I was 9 and tuned into this incarnation (for maybe only 5 minutes), I heard Johnny Gilbert intro John Davidson, instead of Dick Clark, I knew this show would flop and never tuned in again and ya can see why it lasted only 39 weeks.

  • I first tuned into this version of the Pyramid when I was four; I live in Dallas, so we got it at 11:30 in the morning on KXAS NBC 5, and the first thing I thought was "Dick should put a hit out on John Davidson..."

  • They sure pulled of one on the judges when she said forgotten for things you remeber.

  • Well, she didn't finish her clue for that matter either.

  • Every time they panned to the far shot, you can see John's silhouette on the far left. That's annoying... *he's* annoying.

  • You don't see the audience mob to the stage in this version.

  • This has the best celebration.

  • Ive never seen the trilons wiggle with such gusto before, look at em go!

  • At 1:17-1:26: The main reason why John Davidson was not well-suited to host "Pyramid" at all.

  • John jumped in and ruined their momemt.

  • I think he had to interrupt at some point. Custom simply requires the contestant to introduce everyone.

  • amen ... the situation within itself speaks volumes ... let the contestants screaming and the music do the dirty work. give it 30 seconds for people to start cooling off before intervening. like donny osmond was any better ???

  • That's why Dick Clark hosted Pyramid so well. He knew exactly when to jump in. John's up there two seconds after they win.

  • I know, right? Like literally the second they both rose from their chairs... "Sit down, please! Sit down and tell us who these people are..." (rolls eyes).

  • @vnisanian2001 I don't get it. I don't see anything wrong...

  • @vnisanian2001 I think it came after when they were busy celebrating and he was trying to play director instead of things happening naturally
