Needed some basic parts from these 2 tutorial parts, halfway through it right now, a little tip for the weighting select the hip rig, and move it to the right, there will probably sticking out some parts to the left now, open up the weight tool, and scroll through the different rigs, if one of the parts that is sticking out has a color, simply drag your mouse of that part, and you will notice the thing that stuck out will attach itself to the rest of the object. Do this for all the parts :)
@shaker2000 ofcource you have to hold down your left mouse button to add more weight to the object. I did it like this you get the best possible result with it and it goes way faster than figuring out which parts of the object are wrong. Nice tutorial tough keep it up!

@xLiiNeZ each '>' is the next thing you click on e.g to get to application paint on most computers. start>all programs>paint or whatever, this ^^ above will add weight to your model if you are using R12 cinema 4d

Umm I just cant seem to get the body parts to move I did everything in the tutorial and also tried it your way but whenever I rotate the hips, foot etc. It just moves the bone mesh.. I found another model that works but you cant move the fingers which is annoying..
@iCamSkiEz are the hips, foot etc grouped with the skeleton?, im not sure but i dont think you can make the fingers move or if you can i do not know how sorry.

@ShaZeHD on the right of the screen where it shows all your models/shapes/materials on models etc, just right click the NAME e.g. at 0:10 seconds in the video on the right side of the video it shows a model called: Group4.1 which has a blue triangle shape next to it. let me know if this works and if you understand haha
When i try to move ateh arm, the joints keep moving around with teh arm and i want the joints to stay locked in place but still be able to rotate. any way to lock the joints in place or somethign i did wrong? pl0x reply
Hey, I did every step up to the "Auto weight", including auto weight, and when you move his leg up and down, it actually moves. Why doesn't my guys leg move? All I can make him do is spin around. Help please?
hi again :L im using R12 and i have put the bones onto the body and i have followed everything that you said but the only thing i couldnt do was connect the bones to the body so when i move the bones, the body does not follow. i dont know if this is because when i put the bones onto the body i had to do it manually because they did not match up with the body or what the reason is, hope u can help and understand what i mean, thanx.
@JakePazza u checked the symbols on the left side .... maybe u have selected the 2 orange arrows and not the one with the black arrows and the orange ball ... maybe thats the problem
@xNATExGFX think u have to change from the symbol with the 2 arrows on the left side to the symbol with the 2 black arrows and a triangle ... the orange arrows only for the axis
ok so i have done everything correctly up until the fuxing the shoulder my problem is that when i rotate anything it only rotates that part so if i rotate hip it only rotates the hip and not the knee and foot, can you upload a dl pack for the fully rigged model!!??? i subbed

select all joints and the complete character mesh and go to the character menu and apply the bind tag to all ... so all joints are applied to the mesh and its autoweighted ... then u got the weight tag on ur mesh
k guys i found out where auto weight is in R12 . Go to top bar<character<manager<weights manager<auto weight tab< hit calculate. Hope this helped everyone who has r12 and need help.
made me laugh wen u said its a lot of work, u should try rigging these in 3ds max takes hours ;) thought id have a look how ppl do it on c4d but i just use them in 3ds max so i can use the 3d maps :D
Good tut! However, simply uncheck the "visible only" option in weight tool and increase the radius, select all arm bones and simply click once and all the white will be gone with the click of a mouse button :)
es ist einfacher wenn man nur den Body und den Head rigged ... nachher tut man dann halt die Uhren und die Taschen unter die Bones ... also für die Uhr z.B. ins Handgelenk ;) so spart man sich das nervige riggen :D und es sieht eigentlich noch besser aus :D
