At present the video posted by Cute Gopal is sung by Pankaj Udhas.......No doubt abt that.....But I have seen one video of this song on youtube which is sung by Babla......So there may be confusion for that.......BUT original song is of Pankaj Udhas and that is much more well sung....
I'm not Indian, I'm from Iran. But I watched this movie like 1000000s times. I love this movie and specially this song. It's touching, lovely and awesome.
This song is sung by Pankaj Udhas in the CD and Casette of the movie. But it was dubbed in the movie for no particular reason. Maybe they thought the other voice fits Mithun more.
There is another song in the movie 'Ek Ek Ho Jaaye Phir Ghar Chale Jaana', that is sung by Kishore Kumar and Pankaj Udhas (For mithun) in the movie and surprisingly here his voice suited Mithun :-) When Movie was released, 'Tere Dar ko Chhod Chale' was sung by Pakaj Udhas only in the movie, I dont know when it was dubbed by someone else.
This song was sung by Ghulam Fareed Sabri (not Babla Mehta, who emulates Mukesh) and also by Pankaj Udhas. Music Directors do that all the time.
The movie came out with both versions playing in different locations. I originally heard the Sabri song and I really loved it.
It lent more weight to the character that Mithun was playing in the movie. That is my humble opinion and everyone has a right to their Kambal opinion. :)
I dont need to listen this song carefully. Though I can give 1000s of proves that it was originally sung by Pankaj Udhas in movie but I dont want to argue with anyone. If you are happy with Babla Mehta then its okay.
dude get your facts straight this punkaj udas sucks maqbool sabri is the original siger of this song but due to the bann that was put on the sabri brothers for being accused of taking over the indian industry in the 70s early 80s maqbool sabri couldnt do the song ek ek hojayeee so in the audio u only hear punkaj but watch the original movie gopal hear the difference this one sux maqbool sabri rocks this one giving me a headache.

yes in the movie its some other artiste and I dont know why. Pankaj Udhas' version is way better than the other singer. Strange
