That actual scene needed to be in the movie. I don't know why it wasn't. Some people said it was because Oliver couldn't stand seeing his brother dead. To me Dobby, Snape and Freds deaths were the hardest to read. Honestly you did fantastic reading it I ended up crying in the end.

For those who complain that the movie version was too short: They couldn't make it longer because the twins were having a hard time doing it. Oliver was basically having to watch his brother die over and over again, so they had a hard time. Don't complain, it's not their fault.

I think the reason for the lack of Fred's death has to do with their (F+G) actors. Apparently, Oliver (George) couldn't really film the death--seeing his RL twin pretending to be dead was too emotionally stressful for him.
