for the part where it says keep office mac up to date? - and asks about downloading the updates periodically, should i click yes or no? im new to mac, but i know from pc that if it automatically downloads and update the update will not be torrented and it will not work...is it the same on mac? thanks!

yes this worked Fine!!! took a wile to download, im using it on a new Imac os x and using little snitch to block any contact with the net, as im only using it for excel and word!!! Big ups !

@saronangel what skull icon?.....is it like the icon to the app itself?..if it is. just right click the app. and click get info. when the window pops up. at the very top left. youll see the icon. click it once to highlight it. then go find another picture you want as the icon. right click and copy it. or command c. then go back to the icon your tryin to change and press command v

@geebones ya this is Office. it comes with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, And Communicator all 2011....is that what you was askin? like to make sure this had Outlook?

@MacStuffAndWhatNot Outlook is not included in the student edition though I wouldn't be surprised if you could get hold of it from somewhere. From past experience however I wouldn't bother. outlook has generally been a confusing, buggy and slow email applicant. You're better off sticking with thunderbird, mac mail or similar.

Windows OS's are HORRIBLE compared to Mac OS's and that IS just an opinion. but still. Windows are WAY too open to viruses for ppl like me who love downloadin shit!! haha

@Pxxxxxxxxl well technically ya they can. but its very very unlikely. they main reason Macs dont get viruses is just because the Windows OS is so much easier to be "infected" then the Mac OS. the only Mac "viruses" ive seen are like a Script file that will shut you computer down. or restart it if double clicked. just really pointless viruses.
