I am not sure what I think about this. I saw the 25th anniversary cast first, and I really liked it. This is a good cast to, but I like the 25th anniversary. I really like Norm Lewis, but Philip Quast did him justice as well. I have to say that Les Miserable is good with any cast, but I prefer the 25th Cast.
For some reason, Wilkinson doesn't really feel like Valjean to me. I think he's talented and incredible, but not really Valjean. Quast = WOW! Quast is Javert. IS.
I was reading the prologue to the book 'Mistborn' by Brian Sanderson. Gotta say the skaa almost reminded of the prisoners in the fact that they were ragged and hopeless. Gotta say Les Mis is an awesome book/musical. Mistborn is also a good read.
um 10. colm sang it in the best way anyone could. fricken amazing. and i agree with rikku. the music preformed by the orchestra is top notch. anyone know the name of the orchestra i.e. boston symphony, chicago, ect? or are they just a bunch of freelancers? ill probably find out before anyone comments so dont post negative shit please.
You know in the beginning while some of the slaves were singing....are there like two things going on? Like, they sing while others act out what's going on when they sing "look down"?
@LaL3p0p They're just playing footage from the actual show on the screens above while they sing and edit it into the movie version of the tenth anniversary. It's not actually happening on stage.
There is a 10th anniversary, and there is a 25th anniversary, but if you are sure you saw the same cast but with a different bishop, I'm afraid I don't know what to tell you.
I just finished watching the 10th and 25th anniversary productions. I love how this musical has matured over the years. Both were excellent productions, but the 25th is my favorite because of the set design and punched-up musical score. Seeing 19th century characters sitting in convention center chairs drinking from plastic bottles and applauding each other after they just confronted each other just doesn't compare to how they pulled it off in the 25th anniversary, to me.
