why must crysis explosions look like lightning bolts!?

It's because the physics are such that an single exsplosion create's a small spark which looks good. When you times that by 100 or so the force of the exsplosion increases the speed the spark partical effect travels from the source.. The exsplosion itself is also being affected by the next exsplosion. It's actually too clever for it's own good. But in the actual game the setup here wouldn't happen and so all exsplosions in crysis look awesome.

and sandbox 2 is incluided in crysis dvd an u can download it but u have to search it by cryengine2

i always recommend playing on lower resolutions and higher settings. the resolution tends to put huge dents in the fps. i have an 17" hd 1900x1200 screen (laptop btw) but i play with only a 1280x??? ima little forgetful right now, much better fps than lowering the other settings

Aint the same graphics engine, and many cheap cards run crysis on very high without big issues, no AA. GTX 260 / HD 4870'ish or better cards handle crysis quite well

Actually I think they and far cry 2 have the same graphic engine. The only difference is that Crysis is so powerful that you need more than 1 graphic card to run it on high. It took one guy 4 9800 GT to run it max graphics

I have one 9800 GTX+ and it runs on max for me. Unfortunately the highest resolution I can get is 1280x1024 because my monitor is an older LCD. But I can still run Crysis with max details and everything.

Crysis runs on the 'CryEngine 2' engine and Farcry 2 runs on the Dunia engine which are, on most levels, very different. In my opinion the dunia engine adds more realism to the game but this does not mean that graphically it is any better than CryEngine 2. I personally think that FarCry 2 is a very poor representation of a very well made engine which is a shame.

Alex I have a 9800 gt superclocked and I run it on high at 1680x1050 and get an average 55 fps which is close to the absolute most smooth 60 fps. Are you sure you aren't talking about very high. I cant play very high because I have XP and DX9.
