use heat protectant, its not that expensive and even with hairspray it will keep your hair from frying,I like straighten my hair everyday with hairspray in it, and my hair is super healthy XD

PROTIP: use Dust it+ texture powder, it makes the teasing 100x faster. I can style up my mohawk with dust it only and then use hairspray just to make sure it holds. Just my two cents :)

Would the same teasing process be helpful for like super Visual hair (Kote Kote)? For example: Kyo from Dir en Grey pretty much whenever he had blonde, poofy hair.

I try not to damage my hair with bleaching but I know how to tease the fuck out of it when I have the time to. I heard wax is nice to use INSTEAD of gel. I personally have a disgust with gel and have never been impressed by it.

So random question Joji, do you ever put gel in your hair? I have a similar hawk to yours but i prefer mine to stick together like an actual Mohawk. My issue is, when i use gel it ALWAYS makes my tiny hawk fall >< im wondering if teasing it before i flat iron it to keep it nice and trait would help any. I also use hairspray. If i make no seance i apologize.

@chauntelcarmen Gel weighs down your hair so teasing is pointless. You have to make sure your hair is actually conditioned of course. That makes it lighter so you can tease it. I would comb it regularly up and spray lightly. If you use too much its gonna fall over especially at the ends of your hair. Now flat Iron it and hairspray the roots of your hair. Those are just some tips not an actual guide. Everyones hair is different so different methods may work.

Hey I had to comeback and say detangling must be a bitch! I super curly hair and detangling can be a huge headache. But imagine detangling after pretty much tangling your hair. ! I still love your hair!

So basically Spray, let dry then use the straightener to heat it together and make it kinda bake on which gives it a hard strength. yeah? Done it but yeah it is bad for your hair but so it teasing it then trying to get is un-teased hate knots. lol :) Also I'd recommend Tresemme hair spray. Purple! I usually straighten/spray/tease/spray/s­traighten tips/ spray. Either way your hair looks really nice! :)

Think people don't understand that dreads are SYNTHETIC and you can put them and and take them out whenever you want, lol. Plus that it damages the hair a lot and bla bla... yeah. The deathhawk tut is just simple and good for short hair, but for mine is kinda bad and I wanted some tips, on the end it seems that Im doing all correct (teasing teasing teasing) for years haha :Don the beginning it all seems really really hard and well, kinda impossible... but on the end you are happy with the result

I use a saon product called sebasation matte puddy. Its like in a pump, you squeeze a small portion. Then rub in your hands and kind do a claping motion over your head cause its gona do this spider web type of effect. And you pace it over your hair and it does awesome texture.

@thenameisexxe Wax, even, is better than gel. Just the concept of gel is, forgive the cliche, so last decade. Hair spray IS the best. Got2b blasting freeze spray (yellow bottle) is my brand of choice, because it doesn't damage your hair as much, and it's still only like $5.
