Roman Catholics should read The Two Babylons by Alexander Hislop and then ask yourselves how can Popery be anything other than demoniac worship? The Bible depicts the Roman Church as the Whore of Revelation. Read Revelation Chapters 17 & 18 (KJV) and see for yourselves. The Protestant Martin Luther only discovered the truth when he stumbled across a Bible in Erfurt Library. READ THE BIBLE FOR YOURSELVES AND FLEE!
@Islandretreat Yes! Two Babylons is a seminal work, that indeed shows the continuance of the mystery system and it's current guise in the Antichrist harlot religion of Rome.
@southernsales777 well as long as I am opposed to the Roman church as I have been since leaving it for good in February 2008, and am involved in church congregations that are not under the See of Rome and any of its subordinate dioceses, then I technically will be Protestant 4 Life. BUT, I will definitely be Christian 4 Life by default though. So I agree. :)
@rjky1986 I just left RC 2 months ago after being a devout catholic or 10 yrs. At first i thought RC is the truth, but later on the errors of RC affected my relationship with Jesus in a most pessimistic manner that I became lukewarm. But Jesus had no desire to vomit me so he called me to trust in Him alone as my savior. Long Live the way, truth and life............JESUS CHRIST!
@southernsales777 Well, that is an awesome testimony, and I am glad [more than, actually] that you were able to escape its grip. I hope all goes well for you on your journey, and God bless you.
Contrary to popular opinion, Protestanism isn't "rehashed Catholicism" but in fact revived Christianity. The teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ are the seed of Protestantism. It's Bible-based Christianity, purely Scriptural. Nobody else but He is Lord and Master of the Church.
17:18-18:56 absolute truth; couldn't have said it better myself. Amazing to hear some people saying Roman Catholics "have more fun" or that they "laugh at all the stiff-a**ed Protestants" after considering what Richard Bennett has shown at this portion of the video. The Romish Catholic church is obviously very cult-like, even if many of those raised in it can't see it. It is a "religion of law" where sometimes, it seems like everything is a sin.
THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH IS MYSTERY BABYLON THE MOTHER OF ALL HARLOTS..JESUS CHRIST IS SOLE LORD AND SAVIOR AND HE IS COMING VERY SOON TO DESTROY THE POPE AND THE ANTI-CHRIST BLASPHEMOUS "ROMAN" CATHOLIC CHURCH MOTHER OF HARLOTS..PEACE..
@tylus17 "Wherever Jesus is there is the catholic church" St Ignatious 107 A.D. and "Whoever opposes the bishop does in reality serve the devil" St Ignatious same letter 107 A.D. I think ill take the word of one who knew the apostals and was taught by them face to face thank you!
Matt. 19:29 - Jesus says that whoever gives up children for the sake of His name will receive a hundred times more and will inherit eternal life. Jesus praises celibacy when it is done for the sake of His kingdom.
@martlut -He also said Matt 19:11,12-"All cannot accept this saying, but only those to whom it has been fiven;...He who is able to accept it , let him accept it." I sent you an excerpt from the vatican website where it was decreed that clergy who were married were considered "sinning as adultery" if the had sexual relations with their own wives. And substantiating that there were cases where they were physically separated to enforce this law. Peter was married, was he commiting adultery?
In fact, you can go to 'Why Im Not Catholic Anymore' and scroll through this freaks posts from last week and you will find one where this filthy scumbag says,
'Well that just shows you need to throw your Bible away! lol
And lo and behold this stupid lying trashy freak is quoting scriptures from the Bible.
Matt. 19:11-12 - Jesus says celibacy is a gift from God and whoever can bear it should bear it. Jesus praises and recommends celibacy for full-time ministers in the Church. Because celibacy is a gift from God, those who criticize the Church's practice of celibacy are criticizing God and this wonderful gift He bestows on His chosen ones
@martlut -what do you mean? Canon 749 is the decree that the pope is infallable-you can look that up on the vatican website too. I don't understand your question
do you hold that the pope is infallable-and why are you getting so crabby about it-I accually thrive on christian education-I love learning. Answere me this-if the catholic church claims succession to Peter-which is doubtful-but even if the church in Rome was originated w/ him. In 1 Corin1:12 the church is chastised for being "of" someone-following the preacher instead of Christ. Paul didn't tell them to follow Peter and that he was the leader.
VICAR OF CHRIST: A title given to St. Peter, head of the Twelve Apostles, and to his successors, the popes (882); "vicar" means one who stands in for or acts for another.
@jamesglory1. that's right Peter never went to Rome. The book of Acts says that Jesus told Paul to go to Rome. How the RCC got the idea that Peter went to Rome is strange to me. The book of Acts testifies that when Paul was in Rome he greeted all of the believers of Jesus but Paul never greeted Peter, bcuz Peter wasnt in Rome.
@martlut -do you hold that the pope is infallable? Peter was married cause Jesus healed his mother in law. And if Peter was the first Pope why was he "rebuked" by Paul in Galatians 2:11...he didn't claim to be infallable.
@carriebrk yea so what does Marriage that have to do with anything. do you know what infallibility means in the church it appears you don't. Do you Know what Christ said about celibacy and Paul as well. Or would you like to get a little christian education on the subject
@martlut -did you know that priests who were already married were suddenly told if they had sexual relations with their wives it was the same as adultery and they'd be punished? Did you further know the next pope knowing this wasn't being enforced split up families and left women and children destitute to enforce it?
@martlut -accually I looked up the history of that particular doctrine on the official vatican website-they have the entire history of the doctrine on it. I could look it up again and send you the link if you'd like
@martlut now give me the proof for this insane statement did you know that priests who were already married were suddenly told if they had sexual relations with their wives it was the same as adultery and they'd be punished?
@carriebrk Did you know quite a lot of Popes priest and Bishops who were Married inside the catholic church and still are to this day over 100 in the USA alone
@martlut do you hold that the pope is infallable?-and why are you getting so crabby about it-I accually thrive on christian education-I love learning. @umhalil Hmm, I think that they got the "you thought it, you did it, you sinned" thing from Jesus's sermon on the Mount. Radical Stuff, I have to say. Radically different stuff
I find it amazing that many bible "scholars" can be so driven to hate Catholics. This man was a previous Roman Catholic priest who left the priesthood for REAL reasons only God knows. Catholic doctrine, tradition, and liturgy cannot be understood by people who have hate in their hearts. The Pope is NOT God, nor has he ever claimed to be God. This mans poor translation of the Catechism and the Bible is the work of satan. Know of my prayers for you.
@umhalil PARENTS ALLOWED U? LOL...THAT IS EXACTLY HOW CATHOLICS LIKE AND UR PARENTS LOSE...THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR BEING A POOR CATHOLIC. GOD BLESS! THIS CONVERSATION IS OVER...
@umhalil IF U DON'T HAVE HISTORY, U HAVE NO PROOF. THAT IS HOW ATHEIST WANT FROM VATICAN TO SAY FALLS THINGS ON PURPOSE TO OTHER CHRISTIANS.ALSO, IF U DON'T HAVE TRADITION OF THE APOSTLES OF CHRIST, U WILL NOT SURVIVE AGAINST ANY NATION WITH POWER AND CONTROL OF HUMAN FREEDOM,AND U WILL ABSOLUTELY NOT MAKE ANY EFFECT ON OTHER RELIGIONS TO KNOW CHRIST.
@umhalil by the way u answered the question and the way u commented shows how much of misunderstanding u have of the catholic church and it's teachings.i can tell that u and some others like been misinformed. what about protestants who have their own pasters and so on. what denomination r u?don't tell u don't have denomination, that's a lie, and on top of that...what makes a christian to be elected on ur own.LOLamerican or not, then u r EUROPEAN. AMERICAN R EUROPEANS DESCENDENTS.GIVE ME A BREAK.
@umhalil by the way,i'm a middle eastern(aramaic)and i see alot of confusion is many poor in spirit of americans and some europeans, going backwards on catholicism.i feel sorry for your country and way of thinking.ur persectives have led u to think like modern secularism but as having only relationship with God, NOT COMMITMENT WITH REASON AND UNDERSTANDING.i mean,if u accept CC(true history and not garbage)of its history,Tradition(not lower 't'),and practices u would appreciate it.read SCOTT HAHN
@umhalil i can tell that u like others haven't understood CC,u just sort of started to think for urself, ohh, i guess i can just do this myself.that is not even the point of christianity,it is proclaiming the gospeling with everyone understand one church and not by each or everyone interpretations.u say,i could go straight to 'head guy' (God) upstairs!see,IF ur were catholic (a good one) u'd understood that that's what we do first and most, and priest is to pray for during and after confession.
@umhalil "...crap of the Catholic Church."...sure that's real christian of u, ha? this is exactly what i'm talking about.u and others who leave the only holy and true church have been absorbing bunch of garbage.i can tell that u weren't good catholic to begin, and don't start with me about u doing everything catholic.if u did, u would have stayed catholic and have study it carefully with heart and mind.i've studying the catholic church for 11yrs, but at ur age of 12 i was very much into Jesus...
I don't know what day you preach on but I hope it is the LORD's SABBATH. You have a GIFT & I would like you to do a sermon on the SABBATH please! Let me know when its on here & I WILL add it to my page. CREATOR GOD BLESS YOU BROTHER!
@eatatmargos Yes it would be VERY interesting to see if this man observes the Sabbath. I've sent him an email via his Website and asked him this same question. Let's see what he says!
the papacy worries me. the papacy is full of pride and false doctrines. there are alot of other beliefs that are just as dangerous. I am born again, not from a catholic sacrament but because Jesus made me that way when I first believed in Him and Him only.
When Peter and the Apostles had an argument about, "who was greater." Christ said none of them was, and the greatest must serve the most. Does that sound like the pope? Satan's leaders are elevated, not God's.
I feel regret that I used to stand up for the Vatican and the RC church blindly. But when I studied also the writings of the Papal and the bible, I realised that I was the one who was blind. =(
You need to read the scripture in its original language - Hebrew for OT and Greek for NT to see the truth better. So much is lost in translation and abused by those who know to blind those who do not.
I am an ex-Roman Catholic member and I am glad I got out of the RC church. Irony was that it was through a thorough reading of scripture (esp epistles) to try to prove that the RC church is truth, that led me to see the truth- that the Vatican is full of lies.
I am now in a non-denominential church that preaches scripturally accurate and sound gospel that is full of the power, the grace and the unconditional love of our Abba God, our Saviour Redeemer Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
The church of Christ is neither catholic or protestant. Christ's church isn't a denomination. It doesn't have a mailing address. It is made up of the body of believers in Christ. Their names have been written in the Book of Life from the very beginning. Christ knows who His friends are.
Let us note that the very tradition, teaching, and faith of the Catholic Church from the beginning, which the Lord gave, was preached by the Apostles, and was preserved by the Fathers. On this was the Church founded; and if anyone departs from this, he neither is nor any longer ought to be called a Christian. St. Athanasius 360 AD
Oh, was he a corrupted agent of Constantine too? lol
The Holy Ghost is the leader of the Church and not the Pope. The Holy Ghost is the one who convicts people of sin and leads all Christians to the truth and is our Comforter and teacher. The Holy Ghost points and leads people to Jesus Christ our Lord.
All of you who defend the catholic church, first and foremost, you all haven't studied the word of God. Will you agree with that? Worshiping a man, kissing his ring, calling him Holy father, a title only used one time in Scripture when the Lord Jesus Christ prayed to the Father, Something is very perverted and satan like. Start from there, and then later explain how the Pope has the authority to change the 4th commandment of the ten commandments. Protestants, don't boast, you follow the pope.
@goffnett When you say we worship a man you are making a grave insult that you don't intend to take back under any circumstance. It would be like me telling you that you are fornicating with your mother. you wouldn't wish to dignify my acusation with a response.
Personal interpretation of the Bible means that one makes himself the pope, the person in the mirror, deciding for himself what the Bible means. That's why there are tens of thousands of conflicting denominations, all claiming to be right, all claiming to be guided by the Holy Spirit. Ye shall be as gods...
Protestants are followers of the 16th century Satanic false prophet Martin Luther. Out of him came 35,000 protestant cults, each one thinking they're 'right'. But they arent right, they are indeed the children of Lucifer.
The Catholic church is the true Christian church established by Lord Jesus through Peter, to whom he gave the Keys. It has withstood the test of time, never splintered for 2 thousand years and has remained the one, holy and apostolic Church.
You bead counting, genuflecting, ring kissing Catholics are deluded. The Pope is not God. He is an evil man. The devil in a white dress. The Jesuits are invading America and eroding our liberties. Because of Vatican II the evangelicals have been fooled into thinking because you use "Christian" terms you are Christian. You are not! You are idolators and pagen heathens. You want to please man rather than God. God knows your heart. Repent, turn from idols that you may find the grace of God.
Do these people realize that the ENTIRE new Testament was compiled and agreed upon by CATHOLIC BISHOPS??? If the Catholic Church was actually guilty of such crimes as accused of here, then wouldn't we as Catholics taken all the self-condemning stuff out? Come on guys, if we've been smart enough to dupe the MAJORITY of Christians, then wouldn't we be smart enough to take out the things that you TRY to use against us? Grow up!!! And for unity's sake, stop protesting what you DON'T know!
I can't wait till the Final Judgment, so those Bishops of which you speak and real saints like Patrick can testify against the popes and cardinals who sowed chaos, error and death among real Christian Churches, garnished the sepulchres of real Christians, then pretended we were on the same team so that succeeding generations would have trouble telling the difference.
By the way, do not forget that it was JEWISH scholars and Rabbis who preserved the Hebrew Scriptures IN SPITE of persecution.
Catholic hate anyone???lol. Anyway, Christ told His followers that they would be hated and persecuted. This is just the same thing ALL over again. Protestants protesting and Catholics being catholic(Universal).
This video has nothing to do with hate. If we hated catholics, we would simply avoid and ignore you in complete apathy.
No, this video and the Bible-exalting comments here have everything to do with loving the truth. We love the truth, so we are compelled by the love of Christ to expose the lies of the Roman Catholic institution. In this way, we show our love for YOU.
ha, the catholic church has too much accomplices around the Christianity, like Jesuit, even most ppl know, Jesus never claims he is god or is god.....b/cos son of man used 9 time in 4 gospels and 1 is son of god.....why b/cos he totally walk in god's plan.... so his disciplines said "you are the son of god"........Idoltry, Sanit worship, forgive boxes are all made by this damn anti-christ.....check this out.....worship the only true god in heaven who create the world.......
when will the brain washed people of the catholic church realize their church is run by a bunch of perverts that have caused untold horrors on its congreation for at least decades.what part of the churches bingo money being used to pay off little boys parents is it the catholics fail to understand???i can see why the ancients wrote this pope would be the last!!!damn the catholic church to hell quit supporting their abuse of mankind see them for the perverts they obviously are.close the pope down
You know bearing false wintess is a serioius serious sin. God hates it. Also attributing to satan what is of God (blasphemy of the holy spirit) is the unforgivable sin. Be carefull.
I'm not going to go back and forth if this gets nasty. I don't hate Catholics, it's a sin to hate and even if it wasn't I don't hate anyone. I just feel sorry for them and wish they could open there minds for just a second. We are living in the last evil days of the world and everyone needs to be ready.
CATHOLICS: Even if you can't see, even the SMALLEST piece of proof that what u believe is wrong: The Bible says that if the end of the world didn't come 4 the elects sake, even the elect would not be saved! Bible says there will be so FEW true christains ALIVE that he HAD to end the world for there sakes! catholics are 1/6th of the worlds POPULATION!!Doesn't that tell you that maybe, just MAYBE your not in the right place? READ YOUR BIBLES! Not all the writings of the catholics, who r just MEN!
.... what are you ranting about? The book of revelation? I think you need to do a little research concerning the prophetic visions of St. John on the Island of Patmos before telling Catholics to read the bible.
YOU need to read the bible correctly, and get off all of this "apocalyspe" nonsense. The book of revelation deals with the destruction of Jerusalem (the Temple in the war of 70 a.d.) and the persecution of Christians throughout the Roman Empire at the hands of Government.
Keep in mind that the term "Idolotry" was ushered into spiritual history not because of "Catholic Saints", as anyone could plainly see, but because it appeared only 40 days after Gods commandment to Moses on mount Sinai.
In other words THE ISRAELITES WORSHIPPED A GOLDEN CALF IN PLACE OF GOD.
Where does Catholic love for the Mother of our Saviour fit into this same vein of thought?
I suppose it would only be just for me to try and outline the psychologly behind the creation of an idol.
Idolotry (the golden calf of the Israelites) is a manifestation of mans innate, lower nature. It is a primitive, emotive force that, if nurtured, prevents man from reaching for what is greater or higher than himself (God) and forces him to satisfy his most basic ,selfish impulses (greed, lust).
The "golden calf" was symbolic of these impulses, a 'calf", though seen as God, is an animal to be slaughtered and consumed. In this objectification, God serves mans most basic need of nourishment.
Now you are obliged to compare the above to your own (undefined) concept of "idolotry"- and I dont mean a verbatim passage from O.T. scripture, for if such were to be consistently employed, men would be commanded to murder women who read tarot cards (Thou shall not suffer a witch to live) nor would shellfish be on the menu and anyone born with defects are to be outcasts.
NOT very Christian, but trust me, its in there.
That is why we have PROPER BIBLICAL UNDERSTANDING IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH.
Asking our Heavenly Mother, the Mother of Christ, Mary, blood of Christs blood, flesh of Christs Flesh, to pray for us, is a most beautiful and heartfelt example of respect and love we Catholics have for the Mother of our Lord.
So, if its all the same to you, golden, we shall continue to reach out to the Holy Mother of God and you can continue to condemn us. But If I were you, I would examine my conscience to see if my condemnations were motivated out of self righteousness or compassion.
I think it's sad how brainwashed all catholics are. If they could just open there eyes and see what the Bible says. antichrist. You guys pray to mary-which is IDOLATRY....She is dead and in heaven and does NOT hear your prayers because she was just a human that God did bless, but STILL HUMAN NOT GOD. God strickly says that you should pray to NOONE, NO THING, but HIM.
Also- If you're so convinced that catholic is the right way, and you say you
Who told you that Catholics worship the blessed Mother?
A born again Christian?
Let a Catholic explain something to you,
We seek our Holy Lady's guidance as we ask her to pray for us, in much the same manner as people of your faith would ask their church brethren to pray for them. In Venerating the Holy Mother of Christ, we glorify Christ. We need not apologize for our love, but ignorance is rife and at some point must be corrected.
Christ said "he who believes in me shall not die but have eternal life". Catholics believe that all the faithful who die in the grace of God live, eternally, in Paradise. This, of course, would include not only our Most Blessed Lady, but all who have done Gods will.
The definition of "Idolotry" is rooted in the Old Testament, not the new. It is defined by Catholics as "formal" idolatry and "material" idolatry. Formal idolotry is committed by intending and worshiping a creature as "God".
Material idolotry is committed by worshipping God only externally, which is defined as the superfiscial worship of God based only upon the first commandment, without excercising the understanging that God is worthy of worship. And even then, we recognize that no ACT OF WORSHIP can satisfy the worthiness of God ( See Is. 42:5-12).
Only Catholics respect the QUALIFIER of the Old Testament command "DO NOT WORSHIP THEM IN PLACE OF ME",,,,
Christ died once for all time and sat down at the right hand of the Father. He is not continually sacrificed. He said: "It is finished", not that it continues so that the RCC can rake in more money and preach a false gospel so people don't know how to be saved. Salvation is by grace by the blood of Jesus, not by the sacraments of the RCC.
Yes, but If you remember, Christ also commanded "do this in rememberance of me" (Luke 22:19) and, ever since, Catholics have been keeping the promise. (There are other biblical references for Eucharistic reenactment). This was the reason the early church prayed in the Catecombs, and yes, they were celebrating the sacraments, the only way to Christ.
The sacraments do not require a priest. You pray to Jesus and the Father, as Christ is the intermediary. You can keep communion as it is in remembrance of Christ's sacrifice but it does not magically turn into the actual body and blood of Jesus. It is a tool to help the mind remember, it is not to be worshiped as an idol in place of a real relationship with God via Christ Jesus.
So now you say the sacraments are the only way to Christ, so Mary is a sacrament? Golly, make up theology on the fly!
YOU say that the sacraments do not require a Priest, but apparently this was not the case with the Apostles who held councils of Church leaders (Priests) throughout the book of acts to outline the framework of worship.
Corag, you neednt be insulting simply because you have proven yourself to be scripturally uninformed and incapable of answering - or expanding upon- any of the scenarios I have outlined for you and other readers.
I find it amusing, courag, how you evangelicals (if that is your persuasion) make up Christianity according to your own interpretations.
Perhaps that is why we have one Catholic Chruch (including the orthodox who are Catholic, though not of the Roman Rite) and 156 CHRISTIAN DENOMINATIONS .
THE REST OF YOU CANT SEEM TO AGREE WHAT IS BIBLICAL. We have agreed on doctrine for two thousand years.
Courag, you have taken it upon yourself to second guess both The Lord and (His) Catholic church by injecting your own biased and unreliable opinion. If you wish to debate scriptural language, contextual or literal, do so. Your opinions are of little consequence. But Roman Catholic cannon law is firmly rooted in correct scriptural interpretation and in Holy traditition as passed down by the Apostolic fathers (apostles of the apostles) and through the same oral tradition that formed the gospels.
Once again, for reference as to the continuation of both the Apostolic succession and the eventual compilation of the "Codex Vaticanus" (the oldest manuscript of the Greek New Testament in existence) in other words- the King James NT- see Clement, letters of, Ignatious and Polycarp. Biblical historians maintain that John (youngest of the apostles) was the last to expire (natural causes) and that the aforementioned were his desciples. Without these men Christianity would have passed into history
You are assuming that the truth exists though you don't have a clue what it is, even though it defies what scripture teaches. This not only my opinion, but it is the opinion of many Christians who view Catholics as well-meaning but who have no assurance of salvation.
But the New Testament was written so that you could be assured. These things were written that you may believe in God and in Jesus Christ His Son and in believing you may have salvation.
Not assuming anything, I am teaching. You are running from questions, going off on tangents and are incapable of sticking to one subject.
Why dont we stick to one subject starting with Salvation?
I thank you for telling me in believing in Christ I may have salvation (how profound) but mind you our Popes have been saying that for two thousand years.
Now, for a man to be saved, he must first reckognize the salvific will of God. This is only attained in faith but accomplished through God.
I've had to correct myself, and needed to plant this firmly,
James 2:20 (James the leader of the Church in Jerusalem, was, at times, antagonistic to Paul for what he considered to be Pauls leniency towards gentile Christians) "Does some ignorant person need to be told that faith without works is dead"?
COR 11:23-27, dogmatic concepts that Paul maintans about the Eucharist, self condemnation, and ritualistic observance that needs your attention.
Buy a mass to ease so and so out of purgatory. How can Salvation be by grace?!? Pray to those who aren't even God because it keeps the bookstore open.
Salvation is simple, it is not complicated, it can be understood by the simplest intellects and tends to confound scholars but essentially not one of us could ever qualify to earn diddly squat.
We cannot leap the Grand Canyon. Even if some get further, aren't they still all dead? Grace is Christ doing what not one of us can do.
The pope is essentially Christ vicarious in the flesh, in other words, he is God. That is beyond just false, it is blasphemy.
Mother of God, Queen of Heaven: names given to Babylonian and Egyptian gods. This is a substitute theology. We'll market anything to you except the real thing. Just dilute the truth down to where it is no longer recognizable. This is how people will never hear the truth because you aren't convinced of it yourself.
No courag, you are not saved simply by believing. You are foolish and have been listening to southern preachers standing on podiums, for way to long. For reference, see the biblical passages Ive prepared for you. You speak of Christ without ingenuity. Your words are memorized, not only by you, but by fundamentalists everywhere. I have given you a scriptural map to show you your errors and have called you out on the quasi-sloganized language of Born again Christians. Its not very moving.
And please spare trying to save my soul. Im not concerned with your salvation, I prefer you leave mine out of the equation. What does concern me is to correct common misunderstandings of the Church of God. Who you pray to or how you pray, is no concern of mine. My church , however, is my concern.
Also, we have no historical or biblical evidence that points to marriage for St John, the only apostle considered to have lived well into old age (The Apostle to whom Christ entrusted the care of his most Holy Mother while dying on the Cross JOHN 19:26).
Polycarp (An Apostolic Father) is believed to have been a deciple of John and never bears mention of a wife. But from this point on we can only speculate. Biblical Professors concur, however, that Christ, in his perfection, was celibate.
The individual in the above video is an unadulterated modern day loon. Had freud had at him, Im sure he would have peeled back a sublimation or two revealing not faith on his mind but quite possibly an inversion of the oedipus complex in which the Pope's Mitre might hold a far greater fascination for the prophet than the Pontiff had intended. Spoken in laymens terms, Our host might have blocked me, and I dont want that.
Suffice it to say, fear comes in many colors, stupidity is one of them.
A man is not saved by faith alone. This belief is unbiblical and heretical. Anyone who believes in such drivel is not a Christian, at least not according to the apostle of Christ, S. James, the first Bishop of Jerusalem. The Apostle (whose authorship of his "letter" is generally accepted among historians) who writes in James2:14 "What good is it to say you have faith when you do nothing to show that you have faith?" And 2:20, "Faith without works IS DEAD". The Apostle makes it clear.
Attention all CATHOLICS and CHRISTIANS, Islam has oficially surpassed Roman Catholicism according to a yahoo article I read 2 months ago.. Islam is Offically the 2nd largest religion of the world next to CHRISTIANITY.
Islam is taking over.. Our future is in great danger.. How long before ISLAM becomes the # 1 religion of the world??
thats interesting, Al Jezeera said in a news article recently that muslims just in egypt are converting to Christianity at the tune of around 3,000 a week
Jesus healed Peter's mother-in-law. You don't get a mother-in-law without getting a wife.
The Bible teaches that a bishop should be the husband of one wife.
The doctrine of celibacy is not Biblical, in fact, in Jesus' day, though they called Jesus "Rabbi", it was not assumed you were a rabbi unless you were married.
It is better for men to marry than for little children to become preyed upon by the unchaste desires of men denied their sexual natures by the Catholic Church.
The doctrine of celibacy is not only quite biblical, courag1, but zealously enforced by St. Paul, the author of 2/3 of the New Testament. For example, COR:7:8 "Here is my advice for those who have never married, you should remain unmarried, just as I am". Also, COR:7:37 "It is better to have SELF CONTROL (celibacy) and to make up your mind not to marry". It is perfectly allright to marry, but it is better not to marry at all".
So you see, the Evangelist Paul was quite against marriage.
Yes, you if you are called to celibacy, it is one thing, it is quite another to not have that calling and to have to sin because you didn't understand your weaknesses. It is a holy sacrament to marry and it is not sin inside of marriage. But it is sin to despoil a child on the part of one who cannot remain celibate.
It was easier for Paul to not be married. But as Peter had a mother-in-law and not Paul, who you say was the first pope... I just don't understand the reasoning.
Im trying to follow you, but Im not fully grasping your rationale. Paul was not the first Pope, courag, Peter was. (Though both Paul and Peter were murdered during the neronian persecutions circa 64-67a.d.)
My point was that "celibacy" is not only recognized as a "spiritual" calling by the Lord, but was also quite zealously enforced by the Apostle Paul (as I have pointed out through scriptural evidence).
Many have said that celibacy is unbiblical, this is not at all true.
Celibacy is not for those priests who had to fondle children obviously. They could have been Protestants, married and had a proper channel for their natural human desires.
True, celibacy when it is from a pure dedication is blessed but there is no room for it unless you leave Catholicism. This makes a burden some cannot bear and it makes children suffer for it. Isn't it better that they not be touched? The Lord said it would be better than a great millstone would be hung about their neck.
Paul was not against marriage as he told Timothy that a bishop should be the husband of one wife. You think everyone is ignorant. You cannot prove your point.
Courag1, check out Matt. 19:12. Here, the term "Eunuchs" refers to lifelong celibates (check with a biblical authority, not a brother in the faith, for verification).
You will see that Christ praises the (supernatural) decision some men have made to remain celibate for the rest of their lives. His words " Some men have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of heaven, He who is able to accept it, let him accept it", is further proof that the Lord himself condones, and praises lifelong celibacy.

So I agree. :)
rjky1986 6 months ago
@rjky1986 I just left RC 2 months ago after being a devout catholic or 10 yrs. At first i thought RC is the truth, but later on the errors of RC affected my relationship with Jesus in a most pessimistic manner that I became lukewarm. But Jesus had no desire to vomit me so he called me to trust in Him alone as my savior. Long Live the way, truth and life............JESUS CHRIST!
southernsales777 6 months ago 4
@southernsales777 Well, that is an awesome testimony, and I am glad [more than, actually] that you were able to escape its grip. I hope all goes well for you on your journey, and God bless you.
rjky1986 6 months ago
@southernsales777, "not protestant 4 life. Christian 4 life!"
Islandretreat 5 months ago
@Islandretreat Correct good brother! Christianity was never a religion but a relationship with God through Jesus Christ!

@rjky1986 It appears Rome ignores it's priests molesting children and priests dying of aids at a higher rate then non-priests.

DottyDaughter 1 year ago
I am an ex-Roman Catholic member and I am glad I got out of the RC church. Irony was that it was through a thorough reading of scripture (esp epistles) to try to prove that the RC church is truth, that led me to see the truth- that the Vatican is full of lies.
I am now in a non-denominential church that preaches scripturally accurate and sound gospel that is full of the power, the grace and the unconditional love of our Abba God, our Saviour Redeemer Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
DottyDaughter 1 year ago

Not all the writings of the catholics, who r just MEN!
golden4207 2 years ago
.... what are you ranting about?

IVOtheCATHOLIC 2 years ago
Idolotry (the golden calf of the Israelites) is a manifestation of mans innate, lower nature. It is a primitive, emotive force that, if nurtured, prevents man from reaching for what is greater or higher than himself (God) and forces him to satisfy his most basic ,selfish impulses (greed, lust).
The "golden calf" was symbolic of these impulses, a 'calf", though seen as God, is an animal to be slaughtered and consumed. In this objectification, God serves mans most basic need of nourishment.
IVOtheCATHOLIC 2 years ago
Now you are obliged to compare the above to your own (undefined) concept of "idolotry"- and I dont mean a verbatim passage from O.T. scripture, for if such were to be consistently employed, men would be commanded to murder women who read tarot cards (Thou shall not suffer a witch to live) nor would shellfish be on the menu and anyone born with defects are to be outcasts.
NOT very Christian, but trust me, its in there.
That is why we have PROPER BIBLICAL UNDERSTANDING IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH.
IVOtheCATHOLIC 2 years ago
Asking our Heavenly Mother, the Mother of Christ, Mary, blood of Christs blood, flesh of Christs Flesh, to pray for us, is a most beautiful and heartfelt example of respect and love we Catholics have for the Mother of our Lord.
So, if its all the same to you, golden, we shall continue to reach out to the Holy Mother of God and you can continue to condemn us. But If I were you, I would examine my conscience to see if my condemnations were motivated out of self righteousness or compassion.
IVOtheCATHOLIC 2 years ago
I think it's sad how brainwashed all catholics are. If they could just open there eyes and see what the Bible says. antichrist. You guys pray to mary-which is IDOLATRY....She is dead and in heaven and does NOT hear your prayers because she was just a human that God did bless, but STILL HUMAN NOT GOD. God strickly says that you should pray to NOONE, NO THING, but HIM.
Also- If you're so convinced that catholic is the right way, and you say you
golden4207 2 years ago
Golden,
Who told you that Catholics worship the blessed Mother?
A born again Christian?
Let a Catholic explain something to you,
We seek our Holy Lady's guidance as we ask her to pray for us, in much the same manner as people of your faith would ask their church brethren to pray for them. In Venerating the Holy Mother of Christ, we glorify Christ. We need not apologize for our love, but ignorance is rife and at some point must be corrected.
IVOtheCATHOLIC 2 years ago
Christ said "he who believes in me shall not die but have eternal life". Catholics believe that all the faithful who die in the grace of God live, eternally, in Paradise. This, of course, would include not only our Most Blessed Lady, but all who have done Gods will.
The definition of "Idolotry" is rooted in the Old Testament, not the new. It is defined by Catholics as "formal" idolatry and "material" idolatry. Formal idolotry is committed by intending and worshiping a creature as "God".
IVOtheCATHOLIC 2 years ago

Salvation is by grace by the blood of Jesus, not by the sacraments of the RCC.
courag1 2 years ago
Yes, but If you remember, Christ also commanded "do this in rememberance of me" (Luke 22:19) and, ever since, Catholics have been keeping the promise. (There are other biblical references for Eucharistic reenactment). This was the reason the early church prayed in the Catecombs, and yes, they were celebrating the sacraments, the only way to Christ.
celtoantico 2 years ago
The sacraments do not require a priest. You pray to Jesus and the Father, as Christ is the intermediary. You can keep communion as it is in remembrance of Christ's sacrifice but it does not magically turn into the actual body and blood of Jesus. It is a tool to help the mind remember, it is not to be worshiped as an idol in place of a real relationship with God via Christ Jesus.
So now you say the sacraments are the only way to Christ, so Mary is a sacrament? Golly, make up theology on the fly!
courag1 2 years ago
YOU say that the sacraments do not require a Priest, but apparently this was not the case with the Apostles who held councils of Church leaders (Priests) throughout the book of acts to outline the framework of worship.
Corag, you neednt be insulting simply because you have proven yourself to be scripturally uninformed and incapable of answering - or expanding upon- any of the scenarios I have outlined for you and other readers.
It is indicative of your bigotry.
celtoantico 2 years ago
I find it amusing, courag, how you evangelicals (if that is your persuasion) make up Christianity according to your own interpretations.
Perhaps that is why we have one Catholic Chruch (including the orthodox who are Catholic, though not of the Roman Rite) and 156 CHRISTIAN DENOMINATIONS .
THE REST OF YOU CANT SEEM TO AGREE WHAT IS BIBLICAL. We have agreed on doctrine for two thousand years.
celtoantico 2 years ago 2
Courag, you have taken it upon yourself to second guess both The Lord and (His) Catholic church by injecting your own biased and unreliable opinion. If you wish to debate scriptural language, contextual or literal, do so. Your opinions are of little consequence. But Roman Catholic cannon law is firmly rooted in correct scriptural interpretation and in Holy traditition as passed down by the Apostolic fathers (apostles of the apostles) and through the same oral tradition that formed the gospels.
celtoantico 2 years ago
Once again, for reference as to the continuation of both the Apostolic succession and the eventual compilation of the "Codex Vaticanus" (the oldest manuscript of the Greek New Testament in existence) in other words- the King James NT- see Clement, letters of, Ignatious and Polycarp. Biblical historians maintain that John (youngest of the apostles) was the last to expire (natural causes) and that the aforementioned were his desciples. Without these men Christianity would have passed into history
celtoantico 2 years ago
You are assuming that the truth exists though you don't have a clue what it is, even though it defies what scripture teaches. This not only my opinion, but it is the opinion of many Christians who view Catholics as well-meaning but who have no assurance of salvation.
But the New Testament was written so that you could be assured. These things were written that you may believe in God and in Jesus Christ His Son and in believing you may have salvation.
RCC has substituted itself for Christ.
courag1 2 years ago

Grace is Christ doing what not one of us can do.
courag1 2 years ago
The pope is essentially Christ vicarious in the flesh, in other words, he is God. That is beyond just false, it is blasphemy.
Mother of God, Queen of Heaven: names given to Babylonian and Egyptian gods. This is a substitute theology. We'll market anything to you except the real thing. Just dilute the truth down to where it is no longer recognizable. This is how people will never hear the truth because you aren't convinced of it yourself.
You have no passion for it.
courag1 2 years ago

My church , however, is my concern.
celtoantico 2 years ago

Let's not forget what Christ told the "Angel" of Sardis in Revelation....
"I will REMOVE your name from the Book of Life etc."
There is no such thing as a "guaranteed" salvation...it's a MAN-MADE doctrine by our lovely Prot brethren.

Praise God that the Lord is still using servants to preach the truth. Thank you for sharing this video in here.
executiveassistant07 3 years ago
executiveassistant07: This video says that you are saved by faith alone. This is a new doctrine. Some 500 years old.
Does this mean that a Satanist who has Faith Alone will go to Heaven?
Catholics believe Jesus is their personal Saviour, they have faith, is this enough for Catholics?
This is contrary to Galatians 5:19-25.
The Bible says ' work out your salvation with fear and trembling'(Phillipians).
Do not just choose any and an easy belief which allows you to live with addictions and sin.
LionelAndrades 3 years ago
A man is not saved by faith alone. This belief is unbiblical and heretical. Anyone who believes in such drivel is not a Christian, at least not according to the apostle of Christ, S. James, the first Bishop of Jerusalem. The Apostle (whose authorship of his "letter" is generally accepted among historians) who writes in James2:14 "What good is it to say you have faith when you do nothing to show that you have faith?" And 2:20, "Faith without works IS DEAD". The Apostle makes it clear.

Using your logic, Peter must still be walking the earth, because the Bible does not say that Peter was martyred!
Celibacy of the clergy?!?!

"Marriage is honourable in ALL, and the bed undefiled" Hebrews 13:4

The Catholic Church does not forbid married men from becoming priests, who live celibate.
LionelAndrades 3 years ago
Jesus healed Peter's mother-in-law. You don't get a mother-in-law without getting a wife.
The Bible teaches that a bishop should be the husband of one wife.
The doctrine of celibacy is not Biblical, in fact, in Jesus' day, though they called Jesus "Rabbi", it was not assumed you were a rabbi unless you were married.
It is better for men to marry than for little children to become preyed upon by the unchaste desires of men denied their sexual natures by the Catholic Church.
courag1 2 years ago
Am I going to get through at all?
celtoantico 2 years ago
The doctrine of celibacy is not only quite biblical, courag1, but zealously enforced by St. Paul, the author of 2/3 of the New Testament. For example, COR:7:8 "Here is my advice for those who have never married, you should remain unmarried, just as I am". Also, COR:7:37 "It is better to have SELF CONTROL (celibacy) and to make up your mind not to marry". It is perfectly allright to marry, but it is better not to marry at all".
So you see, the Evangelist Paul was quite against marriage.
celtoantico 2 years ago
Yes, you if you are called to celibacy, it is one thing, it is quite another to not have that calling and to have to sin because you didn't understand your weaknesses. It is a holy sacrament to marry and it is not sin inside of marriage. But it is sin to despoil a child on the part of one who cannot remain celibate.
It was easier for Paul to not be married. But as Peter had a mother-in-law and not Paul, who you say was the first pope... I just don't understand the reasoning.
courag1 2 years ago
Im trying to follow you, but Im not fully grasping your rationale. Paul was not the first Pope, courag, Peter was. (Though both Paul and Peter were murdered during the neronian persecutions circa 64-67a.d.)
My point was that "celibacy" is not only recognized as a "spiritual" calling by the Lord, but was also quite zealously enforced by the Apostle Paul (as I have pointed out through scriptural evidence).
Many have said that celibacy is unbiblical, this is not at all true.
celtoantico 2 years ago
Celibacy is not for those priests who had to fondle children obviously. They could have been Protestants, married and had a proper channel for their natural human desires.
True, celibacy when it is from a pure dedication is blessed but there is no room for it unless you leave Catholicism. This makes a burden some cannot bear and it makes children suffer for it. Isn't it better that they not be touched? The Lord said it would be better than a great millstone would be hung about their neck.
courag1 2 years ago
Paul was not against marriage as he told Timothy that a bishop should be the husband of one wife. You think everyone is ignorant. You cannot prove your point.
courag1 2 years ago
Courag1, check out Matt. 19:12. Here, the term "Eunuchs" refers to lifelong celibates (check with a biblical authority, not a brother in the faith, for verification).
You will see that Christ praises the (supernatural) decision some men have made to remain celibate for the rest of their lives. His words " Some men have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of heaven, He who is able to accept it, let him accept it", is further proof that the Lord himself condones, and praises lifelong celibacy.
