Now I can't seem to remember what episode was it where the station wagon ran into the lake and either Flipper or someone found a couple of boys either trapped in the car at the bottom or what. @UKairsoft94 a) the only person present during the "suicide" was one guy. no one else has said its suicide, since no else was there. b) how would he know that it was suicide? the only way to know if it was suicide is if you know that the dolphin did it intentionally and it's quite hard to read what a dolphin's intentions are or aren't.

the point is this: did that dolphin commit suicide? MAYBE. but MAYBE NOT. there really isn't much to go on.

His bio is very interesting: He was partially paralyzed in a motorcycle accident in '69, ending his acting career, but used a $750K settlement to produce films. He was a co-exec prod. of the '82 sci-fi classic "Blade Runner." He did OK.

I above referred to Ulla Stromstedt as "drop dead" as in "drop dead gorgeous." I didn't mean to make a joke of her passing. Apologies to any of Ulla's kin who may have found this comment.

Yes, back then, and still today, dolphins are trained through food. But no....it wasn't the ratings, the show was popular it was the dolphins....dolphins are by nature very aggressive animals...they rape, kidnap, kill infants, kill other dolphins, bite, head-butt etc and they were too aggressive for actors to get in the water with.

Ric O'Barry used to train the dolphins used to play Flipper and the reason the series stopped was because the dolphins became too dangerous to be in the water with. DOLPHINS ARE NOT TOYS. They are not all smiling, gentle, angelic beings. They are WILD animals that need to be RESPECTED.
