Question on the swing-down then, would that be the same concept behind the Kel-Tec PLR16? Does the rule still apply to the pistol classification? There's one pin in the pistol grip, then it swings down from the *upper*. Just bought this firearm, so want to make sure I'm not up shit creek.
@webdesigner33 Not sure on that configuration, call ATF Tech Branch and ask...seriously, there is no harm in asking and they will not raid your house like other say. They are the tech guys that help make the NFA Rulings.
very informative!too bad the b.a.t.f.e. has put these illegal tax stamps on these weapons against legal u.s.citizen`s to purchase!i would like to see the 1934 firearms act and hughes amendment repealed!the government doesn`t trust us enough to easily own them(tax stamp, outrageous cost,etc.,etc.).well i don`t trust our government enough to have the power to tell us so!just my two cents!awesome video!thank you!
@TheAlexagius It's usually just the reciever that is registered since the hole for the swing down is part of the reciever. If it is a Post '86 I have always seen the trigger pack the registered part. Really depends on how the gun was registered in the first place.
@c2builer since i am also a licensed class 2 builder, where did you buy that parts kit that included the full auto fire controls and is it still available with the full auto fire controls?
@warfighter929 I believe I bought the HK33 kit from Apex, I think they still have some. Full-auto control parts and bolts are not restricted, just some distributors remove certain auto parts from the kits as a liability issue incase someone does something stupid.
@metalsludgexxx These are new made Post Sales Samples and can only be registered with ATF for other NFA dealers to purchase. Anyone can buy a registered (before 1986) sear but cannot build or make a new sear.
@C2builder Is it true that you have to do X amount of business per year to hold this license? I am currently overseas but am moving back home (missouri) next spring and want to get involved in making and trading post dealer samples.
You can get the H&K grip/trigger pack housing from Apex Gun Parts for $7.00. They are a Malaysian HK33 contract grip, but will work for the Century C93 with the modification.

funny considering the ATF is sooo worried about this, when they just got two of their own agents killed with illegal guns they were already tracking. So here they are trying to put us down to 10 rounders again, and the damn ATF is letting illegal guns get in the hands of mexican druglords against their own people
I thought it was no longer leagal to build "New" full auto weapons for sale. I know the laws are complicated, but it there a difference when you do conversions?
@davidgcalderone Unlicensed persons can no longer build thier own full-autos (as of 1986) but licensed Class 2 manufacturers can as long as they are only sold to other NFA dealers, Police Depts, Government Agencies or the Military.
@C2builder So a C2 manufacturer could build machine guns all day long for personal enjoyment? They do not require specific letters or requests on a per-gun basis?
@mikeymike4g63 Yes, nothing extra needed. In fact C2's don't even need ATF permission to build, we just build what we want and then submit a Form 2 (for C2 only) on the model name given and the serial number assigned. When or if the weapon is sold to another dealer we do a transfer and the new owner gets the database updated to his name. Class 3 dealers do need a demonstration request letter from the police department to purchase a Post Dealer Sample.
@C2builder That is absolutely amazing. I envy you! Maybe one day I can come down to Nederland and shoot some of your title 2 weapons! I live near Lake Charles. You know of the c3 dealer out of Baton Rouge called Extreme Weapons (Kevin Rodriguez)? He's always at the gun shows here and a really nice fellow. Bought a Spikes Lower from him. Seems like all the machine gun guys are the coolest and laid back at the shows. Is it hard to get an SBR in Louisiana because you have to register with the DPSC?
@mikeymike4g63 No don't know Kevin but I have gone to the Lake Charles Civic Center gun show on occation. Yes you are welcome to come shoot at any future MG shoot we have just send me your contact info in a PM. Yeah it sucks that in some states even if you qualify to own NFA items the state laws says different.
I am curious. How does one get a class 2 licence? I am only 15 years old and one day I would like to own automatic firearms like you do. Thanks in advance.
@UberKuhlMan Getting a FFL and Class 2 is too in-depth to cover here, it's best to visit ATF website or search online for "Class 2 License" and "FFL NFA Dealer License".
As always the best vids are from C2, and this one was both scary and educational, would be fun to se a in depth review of an M60 MG or a M63a Stoner, sometime in the future, Btw what is your own thoughts about Semi and Auto Shotguns? Thank you for all of your awsome vids, //Anders from Sweden.
@Dirz The saiga is hard to beat as far as design, durability and available accesories. I see over the last week or so the prices on the 12Ga. model are going thru the roof (if you can find one). It seems that Obama once again is being the All-American Great gun salesman by saying "boo" and everyone rushes out to get the last one.....sorry, had to get my frustrations out. LOL.
@Dirz Its ok man, iam from sweden, and i dont think obama is to funny, he is like, special potato in the potato sallad... looks good, but taste like somthing else. naa... he is not kind of my guy... //Anders.
@NirvanaFan370 Well, consider that the same group of German Engineers that designed the StG43 and 44 were also the same bunch that moved to Spain after WW2 to develop the Cetme and then moved back to Germany and developed the H&K series rifles. Yes, H&K has good roots.
Great video, and I have a question. Is there anything specific about swing down trigger packs which classify a rifle as a "machine gun"? Or is the rule specific to this model and why?
@Greenquart3r It's specific only to the H&K because most other model of guns you have to do additional work to get full-auto function. The H&K is just too easily converted.
I would never try this. I don't want to lose my stuff I have. I'm afraid to even hear the word ATF, that's why I strictly go by my state law. I like that H&K now I might have to get me one this year instead of the kel tec shot gun. Thanks for sharing
Excellent video. What is the diagonally positioned rod behind the hammer and above the trigger on the trigger pack? It appears the bottom of the bolt carrier would ride on it.
@C2builder I've seen the particular part listed as an "Ejector Lever", but I still don't fully understand what purpose it serves. It appears that with each caliber intended to be used on a S-E-F lower, the ejector lever must be changed (the .223 lever being longer than the 9mm lever, for example). Why does the piece protrude conspicuously above the trigger pack, and also in the front of the trigger pack as well, if nothing comes in contact with the lever?
@SSSCLimitedTrademark If it's the correct piece that I am thinking about it is a ejector lever and as each caliber type is different you need the correct size and length of lever for each type gun. The lever make contact with the back heel of the empty cartridge case as it is pulled rearward upon firing and while being held by the extractor on the bolt face. The lever slides under a groove in the bolts bottom. When the lever hit the back of the case it is flung out of the ejection port.
Wow you just blue my mind I'm not going to do this until I get my c2 licence I'm an aspiring builder any ways wow thanks for the sharing of knowledge also this applys to the cetme if I'm correct five old school stars
@elh728 Up until May of 1986 you could. Oh, and you can thank the NRA for making that possible, they cut a deal with ATF on proposed new laws and threw the machine gun rights under the bus in exchange for new hunting leases on Government land. The NRA does many good things for the firearm community but I'll never forgive them for that.
The price is very attractive for the off the self model but I have heard that most of them suffer from incorrect head spacing. What is your take on that? BTW, I find it really fascinating to see any mechanical device tripped down and see how it runs.
@makun16 Like I mention in the video, Century has taken great strides lately in listening to complaints and comments on their past rifles. With a feeler guage I checked the headspace on my new C93 out of the box and was suprised to see a measurement of .010 which I consider good. After the video I popped another 40rd mag in the rifle and did a solid mag dump, then checking the bolt gap again I got a reading of .008 which I can live with if it stays at that reading.
This was great info! I have a PTR 91 and that trigger pack always boggled me. Will you ever be doing more detailed dissection of the roller delay operation? And has any other weapon used a similar operation?
@KaletheQuick Thanks. As a matter of fact the roller operation of bolt lock-up goes back to the WW2 German MG42. The Czech pistol Cz52 also used this system. The delayed roller system works very well but on the down side is that it incorporates too many bolt head parts with close tolerences.
@nbenicewicz Well, I'm providing accurate academic study information based on my firearm license, design and research, what unlicensed persons do with this information is totally their own consequence and choice.
@C2builder Yeah but you know how this world is. Someone who gets in trouble for doing this is going to say "I saw someone on YT do it" and/or someone is going to see this and freak. From what I see you're not showing how to do it with tools so in my opinion you're not actually showing how to convert a gun. I find this to be informative but for me to do any such conversion isn't worth my time. I'll stick to the semis, if the time comes where I need an auto there will be plenty laying around.
i heard something a while back about ATF posting ads in shotgun news for ar15 auto sears and when you bought one they busted you if you werent a c2 or someone using it to repair an exesting machine gun now i see alot of people on gunbroker selling ar15 and ak47 full auto parts kits and sears do you think that its just ATF trying to bust more people or just regular joes selling the auto kits for class c2's and for people to repair exesting machine guns?
@thegotammochannel It's hard to say, I have talked with ATF agents that say they do "stings" and others that deny it, who knows for sure?
The Shotgun News auto-sear Ad's are deffinately a "run away from" item. As for the parts kits I think some guys are just ignorant about NFA rules and laws and are just trying to make a buck.
@thegotammochannel HK33 use a 40rd mag and there are lately some 20 and 30rd aftermarket mags available. The 40rd are just too long in my opinion for comfortable shooting. They are nice double stack mags and I have never had a bad one.
wow great vid...in all honest how are those century battle rifle clones, i'd really like a FAL or G3, and my century AKs work fine, but i hear lots of bad press on century battle rifle clones...but you know how that is...So in your opinion C2, are they serviceable rifles?
@DaytonaRoadster Century purchases used to be a crap-shoot, I know from having to fix dozens of guys Century guns because of one problem or another. They have as of late been better on thier quality and mine shot great out of the box. I have heard of headspace issues with these C93 and everyone should check thiers before firing.
Because my website deals with these topics, as well as having built 3 HK's from flats, it's not new news, but I like the presentation, and all the information is spot on, especially the warnings. I just wish I knew of an easy way to give them a much better trigger pull
@weaponeer Thanks. The Century C93 already has a decent trigger pull at around 6 pounds. There is a way to acheive better and lighter pulls by stoning the trigger components carefully.
Very interesting. Sad thing is for as long as i live in the UK im not going to come across one of these beautiful firearms :( i love HK's gear but whenever im in the US and get to shoot anything HK people always comment on the huge prices
