first of all, this is the ptrd not the ptrs. the ptrs is weaker and has a 5 round clip. the ptrd is meant for a better single bullet clip armor-piercing round

To the people bitching about WaW attaching a scope the ptrd 41 IS a sniper a sniper capable of piercing 40mm of steel at about 500 yards. It uses 14.5x114mm ammo also known as .57 caliber rounds

@WARFOX101 try aiming to the back of the tank(mainly for the tiger panzer) or the ammunition storage (varies location depending on tank) i don't know more then that...

@RU55IO That is a real gun known as the PTRS modified for infantry use. both rifles are different and real.

they must have made some huge adjustments to the armor in this game. i used that rifle and it took at least three shots to bring a halftrack down. not to mention ive shot all my rounds at tigers and panthers and it did absolutely nothing.

I think Id be a good user of the PTRD-41. Im a fan of WWII stuff and basically know the tanks in and out. Is this game as realistic as I think it is? Coz Ive not have money to spend on Battlegrounds Europe (was a crackshot with the Boys) and I want to play another online realisic WWII game.

one question though! can ppl be killed inside the tank?

Unfortunately, you can't kill ppl inside tanks. It's more realistic than a lot of other FPS games but it's not a tank simulator. However, it's a good game but hard to play at the beginin because you can't play it like a Call of Duty series (wich is more arcade than simulation).

You can check on the official website of Tripwire to learn more about this game and to see the new game RO:HoS wich will release the next year (and with the new Unreal engine).

PS: RO is not expensive this days on steam !

Well you can kill them in Battleground Europe unfortunately when manning a tank in BE you cant get out till you return to base. BE also doesnt have as good a graphics as RO maybe because its a free game and its less than 1GB in size(Im awestruck that they managed to put a 1/2 scale map of europe in there and have all the players playing simultaneusly on it)

In RO vehicles ALWAYS explode when destroyed. Major flaw of the game IMO. And you can't kill people inside tanks unless you destroy the whole vehicle :/

First, you need to learn where the ammoboxes are on each model of tanks (you can find this info on the official Tripwire site). After, it's necessary to fire on it (at the ammoboxes of course) with an angle of 90° like, 12h (front), 3h (right side), 6h (rear) and 9h (left side).

There are only a few tanks which need two shoots: Panther, Tigre, Pz4-H (Panther and Tigre are indestrucible from the front with the PTRD).

the ranges hes shooting the bullet drop on that high calibre round is lamost non existence for all practical intents and puposes.. hes so to speak shooting in the ideal anti tank rifle ranges

it takes a loth of skill to handle this gun against tanks but one great advantage it got is you can bust tanks at a very long range were a powerfull panzerfaust can only dream of

that's not how you reload a PTRD '41, and it certaily doesn't blow up tanks like that, but it's not a bad video

The most of the time, I can kill StuG-III, Pz3-L, Pz4-F1 and Pz4-F2 in only one shot. You just need to aim at the ammo box "without angle" (12h, 3h, 6h and 9h). The others tanks needs 2 shots with the same rules.
