thats cool man. they have the R/T V8 Hemi versions for the Undercover, like this one, and the for the Highway patrol, for some reason, have the V6 models. I think they should switch, cos on a highway ur gonna need a faster car, cos the V6's top out at like 135 or 140. the V8's go to like 160 or 170 idk
thats crazy that the Highway Patrol has the v6 but the Georgia State Patrol Chargers that i've seen and heard definitely has the Hemi and our local Sheriff DPT Chargers also has the Hemi you can here it roar when they take off you know most of time they floor them bitches
yea the crown vics sound raw too, but for some reason theres moves alot better and faster than mine. mines only a P74. the P71 is fully tuned and has a weight reduction kit. something that mine needs cos mine weighs (factory) 5237lbs
oh hell yea the P71 crown vics sound good too they can take off at half throttle and they still sound good i like that sound that the P71 makes it sounds so fucking sweet i got 1994 P71 i think that 1998 and up only makes that sound
yea cos the 1998 and up models, obviously have a major face lift, and they rebuilt the engine. my crown vic makes a nice noise at half throttle, its just that its so damn heavy it doesnt move as fast. i'd rather had a V6 car for myself, cos V6 cars accelerate fast. i love the sound of the p71 too. i got a video of the NYPD that has a crown vic accelerating, kinda sounds like it got turbo in it lol. its near the end. its like a 30 sec video. ill find it real quick hold on
There are actually two different police packages. The one that is most common is the undercover/pursuit packages, which is the 5.7L Hemi with upgraded suspension and performance. There is also the squad car package that has the 3.5L V6. Those aren't usually undercover like the Hemis are.
yea the use the R/T's, with a 5.7L Hemi V8 240hp, 90 more hp than the Crown vic, better looking than the crown vic, better handling, better traction, better braking distance, and supposedly more fuel efficient than the crown vic.
Ummm what are you on coke. The 5.7L Hemi has over 340 hp. The new 2008 Crown Vic has 250 HP. But you are right about everything else. But the Charger is not a R/T it is police package.
I heard from some cops that the Charger goes through it's brakes at 3-4000 miles, whereas the Crown Vic goes through it's brakes at around 20,000 miles....plus the trunk is too small, and the interior isn't very room....yes, the wheelbase is longer, but the length of the charger is about 4 feet less than the Crown Vic...
damn that sucks. the only thing good about the charger maybe, is yes, the shorter length, which makes it easy to whip around corners faster, and because its shorter, it may have a bigger V8 and more horsepower, but it makes a bit better gas mileage, about 18 city/26hwy, better than the P71's 14city/21hwy. so thats about the only pros about it. the cons, yes the brakes suck, take like 135ft to shop from 60, which sucks. i got my crown vic to stop at 125ft on stock ford brakes
undercover cars mostly work on high ways they need to be fast and aswell as that they are only doing their job its not their falt they chase you its yours lol :P
well datz too bad - its already happened. and besides, why not? Chargers are actually faster than the crown vics and definately the Impalas, and somehow chargers are more fuel efficient than the corwn vics and handle better. but idk how they do better gas epa mpg than crown vics when chargers have like what, 5.7l hemis? unless they use the v6 versions
we have those around here too. every police station in my area just got a couple of brand new mustang gts. they have 5% tint all the way around and a strip on the windshield and lights along the top of the windshield on the inside and a shit load of lights the rest of the way around. hell the state police here have a supercharged corvette and a supercharged camaro you would never guess were cop cars, the funny thing is they are confiscated from a huge drug raid about two years ago
lol. thanks that interesting to know. i'm not sure we have any new camaros or corvettes. but there was one charger i saw, light blue, rear spoiler, and custom 20 inch rims, which looked real nice. then when i got closer i saw the lights in the windshield
i got a charger whoo good car!
