I love it, sounds so good. Sounds good in my cheap Fender amp that I'm using in the video, but it sounds even better in my 6505+. I get no buzz or static out of it at all, either, compared to stock pickups on a lot of cheaper guitars.
If it makes you feel better, Peter used the JB/Jazz Combo, and I think Mikael uses the combo on some guitars and they Full Shred on others. They both used Seymour Duncan with their PRS guitars, though, and I'm sure Fredrik does as well. My JB/'59 combo is the best upgrade I could have done.
@creamomeat I like the JB so much I have it in three guitars, and I'm even contemplating throwing it in my RG7620 as well (although it was weak in my RG350M, so I took it out of there). I don't even have high end guitars, they just have really good clarity for the style I like to play. As you can see in my other videos this guitar is now in B standard and it's still clear as ever.
And while I like Duncans quite a bit, I still want to try Bareknuckles, but the price is a bit much
@creamomeat I disagree. Duncans are great pickups, but they're better suited for alder and mahogany. A far higher percentage of Dimarzios end up in basswood guitars than Duncans and there's a reason for that. As far as blacksouts vs. EMGs, i think the blackouts are more versatile, but people seem to act as if Blackouts are superior in every way to EMGs, which is bullshit. The EMG 81 is still the most brutal pickup ever made. That "sterile" sound is what makes it so great for metal.

I found a decent GuitarPro tab on UltimateGuitar, and I think I used the official tab book for some of it.

lol dude that's freaky...i've got a black RG 550, a 6505+ and i'm a huge Opeth fan.
Thanks for the video. I think i'm sold on getting the JB in my RG now.

@ridefour15 I prefer the Lynch "screamin demon" for the bridge. More growly and better harmonics across the spectrum. and a 59' at the neck.
try different configuratations until you are satisfied.
but your already leaning toward Duncans, your already in the right direction!

@signinname41 fist thing you do with any Ibanez is yank out their crappy Dimarzio replica pick ups and put in Duncans. Even the high end models.
If you go active , get the Duncan Blackouts. They put EMG,s to shame.
