  • oh dear, need to decrease the weights. Btw, hows your progress now. Just curious?

  • @bigbigboy16 Well unfortunately I haven't been able to spend as much time working out as I'd like to due to work. It was one of my New Years Resolutions to exercise more, though. Last month I worked out about eight times at the gym and most of it was minimal cardiovascular training on the treadmill on the way home from work late at night. When I stop by the gym after work I usually just do 15 minutes on the treadmill now. It was nice out yesterday so I did two miles on my Schwinn.

  • @bigbigboy16 I'm also on a mini-diet. I weigh approximately 196lbs and I'm about 5'10 1/2". I'm trying to get my weight down to 190lbs and gain more muscle. I think the way that I'm going to be able to accomplish that is by working out more at home. It's been very difficult for me to work out at the gym lately because I'm usually physically beat from work. I only seem to have the energy for fifteen minutes on the treadmill and that's it.

  • @bigbigboy16 I tell you what though, it was a really nice day out yesterday. It was about 40 degrees out and sunny, so I went outside and did some dumbbell sets and I got a really good workout in finishing up with some cycling. I seem to get the best workouts in at home with a set of dumbbells, free weights, and cycling.

  • Nothing wrong with strength training as long as you alternate it with hypertrophy training. One builds strength whilst the other builds size.

Strength training however works far better with compound exercises opposed to isolation exercises such as preacher curls. Weighted close grip chins would be a better way of recruiting more motor units which in essence is how you build strength.

  • Hey great form, was that a full body workout

  • ahha terrable form...unless ur trying to build strengh, over form/tone then great, but your just flatting the muscles down like a pancake!

  • You do realize that you don't have to go super heavy to gain muscle right? You youngsters make me laugh. You kids see the roid boys in the magazines and are fooled into believing that's the way it's done...The guys in the magazines lifting the heavy poundages are all on the juice you dumbass kids!!!! LOL!!!!

  • everybody cant b perfect at first, as time goes on w/ 110% EFFORT, people get better. dont think u r the shit dude! guys like u... need 2 get their ass beat!

  • u know there is a nicer way to put it instead of criticizing the guy...

  • You can do it put your back into it!!

  • hehe you crack me up kid, look up INBF Lofy or WNBF Lofy on line. I'm a pro natural bodybuilder, and my credentials speak for themself. I could link you a weight conversion chart to find your max lifts, cuz i would hate to watch a squat, bench, or deadlift video of yours, wouldn't wantcha to get hurt now, it looks like your training for the 2010 Mr. Olympia, so i'll let you go. If you seriously want those conversion charts i could get them for ya.

  • @WNBFLOFY: Listen, we're both pretty much the same age, assuming that your profile is accurate. So if anyone is a kid it's both of us. Congratulations on winning the INBF 2009 Midwest Natural Bodybuilding Championships. I know about conversion charts. I am not training for Mr. Olympia. I made the video to keep track of progress. I don't mind comments, positive or negative. But posting an obnoxious and overbearing comment like you posted yesterday is not a good way to introduce yourself.

  • @matthewjdenn good freakin job buddy but what do u mean by keepin track of progress if u wanna do that why donchu jus upload into ur computer ? why du upload it to utube and showing it to the whole world?

  • I keep track of progress in a journal but I also like to share my videos on the internet so that people can comment on them. I like it when people critique form, offer suggestions, exercises, etc. I also like to upload it to keep track of progress that I can access anywhere.

  • Thx for the good laugh, hahaha. 2 reps do jack shit for ya, try 8-12 to put some size on those pea shooters of yours.

  • @WNBFLOFY: Man you're special. The point of the video was to keep track of the maximum weight I could do on the seated preacher curl. I normally do a lower weight in sets. Once again, another shit talker who has no videos for other people to criticize. 9 times out of 10 when I see a comment like yours on my pages, the person with the attitude commenting has nothing of their own to offer up for criticism.

  • I Do 2 25's For 12-15 Reps At 4 Sets. Not Sure How Much The Ez Curl Bar Is But I Know The SNAP FITNESS EZ CURL Weighs More Than My Ez Curl Gold's Gym At Home :/

  • Maybe i can't see it but isn't there only one 45 on each side?

    45+45+15=102?

    I've never seen a 30lb EZ-bar before. Most of them run 15lbs.

  • Yes, I believe is is two 45lbs, so you would be right it must be 102 lbs.

  • well for someone who doesnt look like they do weight lifting to become super strong thats a fairly good near max hit. today i did 145 on preacher curls for 3 times and i did a 155 max weight single rep full extension to was pretty impressed but good work

  • 145lbs x 3 with a 155 max weight single rep preacher curl is damned good. You should be proud of yourself, boxingisfake.

  • i did 55.5kg 6 reps to day :) (122.3lb) age 17 =D

  • Good work.

  • thankoo

  • maybe its a little to much weight for u man to curl need more then two reps to build those arms, try doing lighter weight..

  • Hey, thanks for the comment. I can actually do more than one repetition, but with difficulty. If I'm going for reps I usually do a lighter weight.

  • I agree, you should maybe go down 10-15 lbs, and at least hit 5-6 reps... I'm guessing the purpose of your video was to show your max.. I hope you don't do your full workouts like this, you could hurt yourself.

But regardless, you're pretty strong for a skinny dude lol

  • The purpose of the video was to show my max. When I'm normally working out I don't do this much weight on the preacher curl. I'll do less weight with more repetitions. Something like 75-95lbs sets with the preacher curl. I'm better at bench pressing and I'm really good at squats. I got a video of me doing 400lbs squats. But thanks for the comments and the suggestions, I'll keep that in mind.

  • Sweeeet Video DUDE, Oh Snap! Fitness
