  • This was not crap. Good job.

  • @begrackled Thanks. We try our best !!

  • Really nicely played and sung, it’s so important to keep our heritage alive and remembered

  • @redzed40 Couldn't agree more. I really like doing the research into some of the traditional songs we do - a lot of interesting stuff comes out. Also, I enjoy seeing the additional info that others have foumd and add.

    Thanks for your comment

  • @obbabob Hi, thanks for your comment. Have you checked out our other videos?

Any suggestions as to other songs?

  • @John8Linda How about "The bold Grenadier"?

  • @John8Linda

You must play Greensleeves! Message me if you post it and I'll subscribe!

  • @NormbrettaMod We've succumbed to your blackmail !! Greensleeves duly uploaded!! You must have read our minds, it was on the 'to do' list. Thanks for taking an interest in our music.

  • @obbabob Its a great song, we'll look at it. Thanks.

  • @philippfuelb Thanks for your comment, but I'm not sure about the 'old' bit - we certainly don't feel old!!

  • @John8Linda lol I'm only teasing you two.

  • @philippfuelb Well that's OK then.

  • beautiful!

  • @THE3006SARAH Thanks for your comment.

  • Lovely

  • @cyclepod1 Thanks.

  • I now know what a zoom is!! The drawback, I suppose, is that it doesn't record video, does it? Thanks for your comment.

  • Beautiful although not recorded with a zoom (which is a digital stereo recording device the size of a piece of soap with built in microphones and surprisingly high quality).

  • Great stuff, J&L. Not a plug, honest, but have you ever tried a Zoom handy recorder? Brilliant for acoustic music.

  • Thanks for your comment - what's a zoom handy recorder? Excuse my ignorance.

  • Do You ever come to Lancashire? I would love to see you live. Is Derby my nearest point of contact? (Lancashire is my home.)

  • We occasionally visit a friend in Southport, but tend to play in folk clubs and open mic nights in and around Derby.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • I lived in Belper, Derbyshire for a couple of years in my teens. I remember it all so well. I don't go out much these days, but will try and follow where you are, and I do wish you all the very best. Thanks for your lovely songs. X

  • Ahhh thats great to hear....

If you could message me some dates and venues you do that kind of thing would be much appriciated!! im guessing its not to near the west mids though!?

  • We're East Mids - so we go to The Vernon Arms, Ilkeston Folk Club, The Kestrel, mainly. They've all got websites. Where's your nearest venue to Derby?

  • Loved this....

And i think you should know im 18, and its nice to see this music still being appriciated, and performed, by all ages, including the youngsters of my generation, welldone!! thanks for the upload!

  • A lot of young people come to open mic nights. I was surprised one night when somebody about your age began playing Bert Jansch and John Renbourne stuff. Thanks for the comment.

  • Thanks for a really informative comment. We didn't know that and we'll mention it when we perform the song live.

  • beautiful! love it

just a note, John Riley is a traditional Scot-Irish song sung by the classes oppressed by the English who escaped the tyrannies of England to settle in Pennsylvania and the lower Appalachian mountains.

  • Well sung and well played. A real pleasure.

  • Thanks for your kind comments. Hope you like our other videos.

  • I sing also these songs and all the early Joan Baez. I learned to sing with her records, it was my best singing teacher (at home, in my room... with the old disc-player) ! And you sing like her.

  • Thanks for such a nice compliment.
