Bhutto WAS responsible for the separation of a united Pakistan. It was his quest for power that led to this. Anyone here who does not agree please explain why. He lost the election he only had 29% of the vote. Sheikh Mujib had 53% of the vote. Sheikjh Mujib should have been in power.

U need 2 realise that the separation of Pakistan wasnt just about the independence struggle in 1971 but was perpetrated by West Pakistanis who isolated bengalis since 1947.
The original Lahore resolution initially asked 4 autonomy of units within an entity called Pakistan this was later ratified and thus West Pakistani/Punjabi dominance began.
The Hammad Ur Rehman commission highlights military dictatorships AND govt policies as causes 2 Bengali isolation.
What was Bhuttos role: He was initally with Mirza (who he compared with Jinnah!) Then when Ayub Khan over threw Mirza he became Khans Foreign Minister! Then when Ayub stood down he worked closely with Yahyah Khan!
He became a puppet 4 the military as a way of keeping power in W Pakistani hands and his background (see above) had shown he was greedy 4 power. Mujib won the elections and a BENGALI PM was elected. Bhuttos opposition caused the split!

I remember two names a) Senator Moulvi Zahoor (alias Khushki) b) Ch. Anwar hussain of Shekupura. Moreover tehre were many Ahmedi MPAs in Punjab assembly.

Bhutto WAS responsible for the separation of a united Pakistan. It was his quest for power that led to this. Anyone here who does not agree please explain why. He lost the election he only had 29% of the vote. Sheikh Mujib had 53% of the vote. Sheikjh Mujib should have been in power.

It was the military quest which lead to such circumstances.Hunderds and thousands of Bangalies were put to the sword and were treated like animals,this created a huge reaction and ultimately resulted in the division of Pakistan. Z.A Bhutto came at a crutal time and tried his best to clean up the mess created by the army at that time.

U need 2 realise that the separation of Pakistan wasnt just about the independence struggle in 1971 but was perpetrated by West Pakistanis who isolated bengalis since 1947.
The original Lahore resolution initially asked 4 autonomy of units within an entity called Pakistan this was later ratified and thus West Pakistani/Punjabi dominance began.
The Hammad Ur Rehman commission highlights military dictatorships AND govt policies as causes 2 Bengali isolation.

What was Bhuttos role: He was initally with Mirza (who he compared with Jinnah!) Then when Ayub Khan over threw Mirza he became Khans Foreign Minister! Then when Ayub stood down he worked closely with Yahyah Khan!
He became a puppet 4 the military as a way of keeping power in W Pakistani hands and his background (see above) had shown he was greedy 4 power. Mujib won the elections and a BENGALI PM was elected. Bhuttos opposition caused the split!

Constitution is too important a document to be framed by a single party. Mujib's 6 pts. were a separatist agenda. Mujib hopeful of help from separatist leaders of West Pakistan like Wali, Ghaffar, Bugti wanted to frame constitution on 6 pts. and make way for Azad Baluchistan, Pakhtunistan, Bengladesh

If you so much believe in majority principle, why Muslims separated from India, they shud hv accepted majority Hindues' constitution in1947.

After taxation powers proposed altogather for provinces, it lost its claim to be a federal scheme. Mujib, actually proposed a confederal scheme in the guise of a federal scheme. It was a well thought out strategy to for constitutional separation. Yes, I am against Punjabi centralization, though myself being a Punjabi. Bhutto never proposed two PM.

After Bangladesh's independence in 1971 a civil war broke out in Baluchistan in 1973, where 55,000 people rebelled for the same reasons. Misappropriation of funds. The government under Bhutto still had not learnt the lessons of the past..
It was Bhutto who famously said to Mujib "You lead the East and I will lead the West".
