  • wow...AWSOME!

  • Go to the website and I have an explanation on how it was done. See descript info for link.

  • 1:28 how did u do the skull?

  • Fan-freaking-tastic! To quote Stewie Griffin: "I WANT IT!!!"

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do a cat!

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hello Awesome !!! So where can i buy this from you ? (the pumpkins) w/o sound.

  • man I wish stuff like this was easy to do. what program was used to make all this?

  • i love the skull :D he looks cute :P

  • i love the effect...hate the song

  • The singing jacks are great, though maybe they would be more effective in a darker lighting scheme?

  • I like the pumpkins better

  • First of all, your work on this effect is awesome. I try to come up with at least one really different/new display every year to add to my already crazy large collection of Halloween decor and I've found my next project! My question is whether you purchased the full-blown Autodesk Maya ($5K ?) or if there is a "lesser" version (I read somewhere that there is a $300 version?). Or would 30 days even be enough time to learn and create something like this using the free trial? If you get a sec. Thx.

  • Try "Blender" it's a free open source 3D software.

  • Hey, thanks for the info. A few months back I asked a friend who animates for a video game company what he would recommend and he told me Blender too. Thanks again!

  • You can do this effect with just plain after effects by adobe if you wanted. Flash would work too. I just chose Maya since I know it better.

  • Skull sounds off key, but a great effect!

  • i know its fake but it still scares me

  • dude, that skull looks awesome XDDD

  • Dude, your amazing! ^^

  • Man i gotta tell you you are amazing....

  • Are both the animated pumpkins and the peppers ghost skull working at the same time? If so how are you syncronizing both animations at once?

  • Two portable DVD players are playing the same timed out animation so it restarts together. Sometimes I have to re-sync it.

  • where did you get this?

  • I would love to be able to see this in person, even pay you for the pumpkin projection DVD. Are you possibly selling the pumpkin projection DVD? Maybe the skull as well? If not, completely understandable, it's too amazing work to part with.

  • PLEASE READ?

Could you somehow post this flash animation with no sound? That should put your worries of infringement to rest?

Or at least a tutorial of how you did the animation. Like if you used tweening, did you use the video of the statues as a background template and maybe a file with the basic three pumkin face shapes?

I KNOW YOU GET FLOODED WITH THESE REQUESTS BUT PLEASE CONSIDER at least a tutorial.

  • No I can't. Sorry.

  • Is the animation still available for purchase? I have the soundtrack, but would love t buy the animation to put with it.

  • What aniimating program did you use?

  • Maya

  • wow amazing did you order online or a store

  • Neither. I created both myself.

  • nice

  • Once again, you made this even better with the skull. You are truely an awesome guy.

  • So many questions I have about this! O_O

    1. What program for the animation? (duh.. *lol*)

    2. Any tutorials online?

    3. Where is the TV positioned and in what angle according to the position of your window?

    4. At what angle is the Pepper's glass, and where did you find a pane that BIG?

    5. How do you keep people from looking around the window and seeing how the effect is done?

Sorry, but I REEEEALLY need to do this too! *lol*

  • your really good

  • Thank you. Fun project to work on. Have you seen my Adventure Thru Inner Space DVD Trailer? See More from: Mokthemagicman on youtube. =======>

  • i would love some instruction or even animations on how to do this for a haunted house i volunteer at please tell me

  • Please tell me how to do that!!!! I really would like to do that to my pumpkins instead of carving them!!!!! LOL Really Good Job!!!!

  • I explain it on my 2006 Grim Grinning Pumpkins "about this video" section. See more from mokthemagicman for link.

  • thanks so much!!!

  • Thatn was cool!!!!!

  • nice, wonder what you got planned for 2008 halloween?

  • Nothing planned yet. We shall see.

  • Steve, your singing skeleton is to die for! I just love how expressive the skeleton is. Fantastic work!

  • I LOVE IT! We made a Pepper's Ghost, I'm going to upload a new video tonight (youtube's compression darkened yesterday's upload WAY too dark). Anyway... your TV one is much better! And alot easier!

About the pumpkins... do you use a video projector? Where can I get one? Do you have any how-to or behind the scenes videos you could upload? I think we'd all love it! Thanks!

  • Cool! Send me the link when you have it online.

  • I must uh say uh. I would crap my pants if i was trick-or-treating at your house and saw that.

  • Thanks- Did you like that? Jason made a special trip over just to check it out.

  • the pumpkins not so much just because i've seen it b4 with last year's halloween. the skull- hell yes. pretty menacing.

  • Uh, dude, I just saw someone with those SAME projections of the pumpkins. Didn't you say to me that if you gave them to somebody else, Disney would have your head???

  • Halloween 2007 and the quality was a little better. So was that a TV or a projector for the skull? And plan for next year: Grim Grinning Ghost music from PHANTOM MANOR.

    Much catchier.

  • Peppers Ghost effect with a TV and my animated skull synced to GGG song.

  • As always, great job, Steve.
