What kind of bit did you use? I have a 1/2" regular bit, but I've heard that you should use a step-bit b/c the regular ones leak.

What is your method of marking these? What gradiations... how to mark them etc.

My lazy ass just has a piece of masking tape running vertically with sharpie marker marks at each quart. Longer term plan is to wrap vinyl pin striping tape around the tube at each graduation.
