  • Love the playing man. Studying piano now but one day hope to grow up playing like you. Heard some of the greats play live, Fox, Swann, Spillman, Roth, but i still love listening to you give the last verse the treatment. Keep it up brother you are an inspiration. The organ sounds better than some of the 5 manuals i have heard but i guess it is who is playing it. Keep up the good work and keep posting. Love it.

  • @cadmus1954 That's quite a compliment Thank you!

  • I always enjoy your playing. With all of you talent, I dont understand why you didn't find you way to formal study. Anyway, this is a great hymn, and I came across this one late in life. I wish you could have heard Mother Zion sing it.. By the way, did you know Levata at Mother Zion?

  • @mitchelllou2 No, I only knew Dr. Heriott.........

  • This is my favorite hymn. And the richness of the organ gives it an amazing emotional force, breadth and height.

  • @proustafarian Thanks, glad you liked it!

  • I'll keep this comment real simple... Bravo!

  • My response will be even simpler.......Thank you!

  • you're welcome... you have no idea how much we enjoy these... BTW... i'll be at the Cathedral for Midnight Mass again this year... I will post!!

  • Cool, wish that I could attend..........

  • Did you father teach you to play? What is your favorite memory of your Dad?

  • No very unfortunately, I wouldn't let Dad teach me as I thought that he'd teach me Jazz piano and God forbid that. I just KNEW that I was going to be an organist in some Cathedral some where. I'm still kicking myself in the rear for that stupid move as I would've been a far better musician and thus organist had I let him teach me (he was a phenomenal Jazz pianist). He did teach me how to play "For All the Saints" in chords after months of torturing the family by playing it with 2 fingers!

  • @27charliee Charliee, I never answered your question about my favourite memory of my dad (sorry 'bout that). There were sooo many memories!! He was funny as all get out, charming and loads of fun. But I guess what I remember most and loved was his interaction with his grandson. He doted on him and they were buddies. If nothing else in life makes me happy, knowing and seeing how much my son loved my dad and how much he loved my son, will always bring a broad smile to my face. That's my favourite.
