  • im not even handicapped, and i want one :)

  • I love this design, whether for the disabled or otherwise. I would love to fit a big electric hub motor to the rear for downhill runs. Love the design!

  • where I can get one of this???

  • @petrifieeeer look on: offroadhandcycle com

  • The chest rest piece might not be a good idea but this trike is awesome!

The best thing is that no piece of the rider actually extends beyond the trike like in usual trikes or lowrider bikes.

  • awesome:)

  • Awesome!!! No excuse to get out there and ride. I would switch to a trigger shifter. Is it a internal shift hub? Seen something like this yrs ago and it was amazing.

  • This is amazing! Great work on the concept of this and smooth look! Ride on for everyone

  • What happens when they tip over?

  • @k3rn77 The same as when you tip over normal bike

  • @rolinspoland except the people riding cant use their legs is what im guessing.. seems problematic

  • @k3rn77 motorize it and ill buy it

  • oh shit what a badass

  • You would have to have incredibly strong arms for this

  • What purpose do a chain and a sprocket connected to the chest rest serve?

  • @kirikset This is a part of chest steering system. When pedalling you are able to steer by your chest - just lean left or right

  • That dude is going to have 20" arms after riding this for a few years

  • You design looks great, but as others have said you should maybe consider using some type of locking system that keeps them in place, like as there steering you could but a pressure sensitive mechanical switch so when they release their grip from the handle bars it locks it in the position it is in. It might add a small amount of weight and I know that means a lot because it looks heavy as it is but it shouldn't add more than 8-10 ounces anyways.

  • So.....Im not handicapped but I want one, they just look fucking awesome and hella fun. nuff said.

  • you should make it so you dont have to pedal by hand and that you sway the bars side to side or something to save people from quickly switching from pedals to bars

  • This is awesome. I am not disabled, but I would like to see one of these with traditional pedal format. I like the trike design.

  • Congratulations man! Good job! Do you have a version electric assisted to help in long hills?

  • Good for them! :D love it

  • have you designed one for midgets?

  • @hemigod2 If this was a Joke - you have problem.

If not a joke , then I can say that the bike have adjustable size

  • @rolinspoland Ok I see I could just sit on your chest pad, and just use the original seat as a passenger seat for my causin Lilly, who is also a Little person :)

  • @hemigod2 I'm sorry man! We had a lot of malicious comments...

For very "Little persons" , the frame should be re-designed. Like I said, size is adjustable but I don't think if it would be enought.

  • @rolinspoland Its okay Made , your creation has more than made up for it. Surly doesnt make much for us little people but you have found a way to more than bridge the gap. if I can level out that rear seat for a passenger and lower the chest part as a saddle then two of us can have a ball together that bad boy ;).

  • imagine the amount of dirt u get in your eyes riding this

  • If you put that it was designed for the handicapped in the title instead of the description, youd get alot less negatives.

  • now i can see why they are more in shape handicap people out there then the fat slops out there that dont work out, great job and thank you

  • just put a motor and problem solved

  • I was just about to put the bike down until i read the description properly and realised it's for handicaped people... sorry, what a great idea!

  • I love the idea, but the pedal or steer thing would cause too many problems to ever have me consider buying it over a ATV or normal mtn bike

  • looks sweet but i can only imagine that crashing or falling on it would hurt like hell...ill stick with two wheels

  • awesome , great idea!!! ( :

  • fucking awesome , great idea!!! ( :

  • I see a problem with cornering, since bicycle tires are designed to be on the outer knobs (the tire is leaning) when taking lateral forces. Since these wheels do not lean , then the tires will not grip as well.

  • If you leave all the bottom thing like the three wheels and then put a Down hill Bike frame on it i will buy it looks cool but not very Functional

  • clearly nobody read the description, this bike is for handicapped people

  • why dont you bring the handle bars up so you can pedal with your feet and turn with your hands ? :)

  • @MrBurnTec

Handle bar up, took of a front wheel and pedal with feet! WHAT YOU GOT? A BICICLE!

  • @MrBurnTec because this bike was built with paraplegics who are unable to use their legs.

    Dumbass.

  • song anybody?

  • great idea

  • @bogdog89 It looks cool and all but steer or peddle, whats up with that?? Geeeeeeeeeeeesss Lets put a 5 HP brushless motor and Lipo batteries on it and be done with it. The electric motor would be the ticket for this!!

  • @dolan008 bike have double steering system. You can steer when pedaling. Look on video: /watch?v=h0dTaqeU_Hk unfortunatelly only in polish but look on how chest steering system work.

  • sooooo, steer OR pedal...no thanks

  • @blackbird302 Not true, bike have double steering system. You can steer when pedaling. Look on video: /watch?v=h0dTaqeU_Hk unfortunatelly only in polish but look on how chest steering system work.

  • @blackbird302 Read the video you idiot.

  • @blackbird302 you didnt watch the video.

why comment if you dont watch the video.

  • @blackbird302 you didnt watch the video.

why comment if you dont watch the video.

  • It looks nice. But I have a mountain bike. And a 4 wheeler. But maybe if I break my leg while playing on my 4 wheeler I would get one. It is a good idea and looks well built. Perhaps if it had a small 2 stroke moter turning the back wheel it would be more functional and fun for the handicapped and still be under 50 pounds. since handicapped people can't ride a 4 wheeler this would be the next best thing for climbing a hill to go down it. engin would weigh down the back end for jumping it.

  • you should make one so that you can pedal with your feet but keep they two wheels on the front

  • nice idea one problem is how do you get it there you need a truck or trailer to carry it and if something brakes on it your day is shot and it just site for months in to the part comes in the mail something more simple and you can easy replace parts at your lockle bike shop

  • add another wheel and put a seat on it, so you can pedal with your feet, that would be awesome...:

  • yeah its great for people with disability, but have you noticed that its SUPER SLOW?

  • @SimonOutLoudVideos Please watch this video: /watch?v=ai5QSzcek3I

then tell me again if is slow...

  • @rolinspoland ...yes, its fast down hill..

  • @SimonOutLoudVideos The point in this handcycle is that it gives new possibilities to disabled, not that is a bit slower on flat or uphill. There is no other equipment providing such a big possibilities for disabled persons. Thanks Explorer II , they can be a part of MTB community or go to places that until now they even could not dream to see on own eyes. I'm not saying that you have to like this bike, but trying to explain what is the point...

  • Able bodied person sometimes does not understand what is this mean if in one day you can take your mountain bike and go in to the forrest or mountains but next day you cannot becouse you are an wheelchair user... Explorer II may change this situation - and this is a point.

  • Besides, personally I think that the rider was slow rather than bike :)))

  • @rolinspoland Yes and I like the point! Very good thought. But the bike is complete and complex, apart from that. So why not fix that? It can't be that hard compered to building the rest of the bike?

  • @SimonOutLoudVideos I'm sorry but I not fully understand, could you expand your thoughts? What should we fix?

  • wow really cool

  • for people with disability... great!!!

  • i think u should make a bike that you dont pedal by hand because it would be hell pedaling up hills

  • @codybrady100 dude he has no use of his legs thats what this is about jesus why no one read the description! lol

  • I would do a few minor changes.

Mount the hand crank in a dual axis gimbal and use a swash plate to control steering.

I would also add a coaster type brake, reverse pedaling would engage this brake.

All of this could very easily be retrofitted.

The advantage is that now one would never need to remove their hands from one set of controls.

Reverse is always an option as with any coaster brake that allows for back pedaling.

    Again, common components available easily.

  • You should make a simple unit with the direction and the pedalboard, would be easier to drive a hill for example.

  • A: "confortable?"

    B: "haha why?"

  • @SnoopGGoD

    A: YES

    B: read description ! :)

  • @rolinspoland okay these two people are not really talking with each other :D

  • @rolinspoland disabled or not this is a retarded concept... wheelchairs have been around for hundreds of years (you can google that BTW) and they are an almost unchanged concept because oh how simplistic and perfect they are. good try but not quite there...

  • put a motor on it :P

  • i have legs ... BUT I WANT ONE !!

  • great for people with broken legs who still want to mountain bike through the world!

  • great job guys

  • how about making the front wheels lock straight when your pedaling the handcycle?

  • @TylerClark504 is no needed , this bike have double steering system. You can steer with your chest when pedaling.

  • have you ever thought of instead of handpedals to use a ratcheting pedal system that you pump with your chest, kind of how a kick n go scooter works

  • My question is WHY?

  • @FJvoodoo Please read description and you will know exactly why... :)

  • @rolinspoland Now that makes alot of sense. Small electric drive might be a good idea for powered assists when needed, solar to recharge, yeah, that would be fun... "Sometimes we jumb in the water before we know how deep it is" Thanks for the re-read dude...

  • Yeah. No. Simply because in case of bail out..that's it you can't.

  • So do you steer with your chest when you're pedaling?

  • Why not build one with a electic motor?

  • @FullFledged2010 same reason everyone doenst ride electric bicycles, it wouldnt be the same

  • ever hit a rock with your pedal? That will suck to do with with your hand. Also how long can you sit on your knees for? I can go for about 2-3 min before the pain becomes to much. Other than that the suspension is SICK!

  • The design details and fabrication look great but I suggest you develop one that is front wheel drive and steers with the pedals.

  • @tecnocato Front wheel drive will not work in the bike which is used for off-road. First steep uphill and you stuck. Pedal steers will not work in fast downhills. We tested lot of different configurations and current configuration works the best.

  • @rolinspoland Why even respond to dumb comments like the one posted.

  • @supermuble It is not big problem for me, becouse still some of the people are smart enough to know why this handbike was designed and produced.

  • Is there a harness to hold you on the bike?

  • @KeeperofTheMountain This was our first seating version, please watch our latest video and check how the seating/footrests looks now.

  • how much?? i have a 250 motorcycle engine for one xD

  • this is shit!

  • looks heavy/hard to pedal plus u cant steer/pedal at same time...

  • @A11DAyEV3RYDAY Its weight is 26 kg so this is no more than typical DH bike. Explorer II have double steering systems: regular handlebar and chest steering system. You can steer with your chest when you pedaling, so you can steer and pedal at the same time.

  • @rolinspoland oh well then thats fantastic!

  • @rolinspoland 26kg for a DH is very heavy these days... but kudos to you for making something suitable for disabled riders.

  • @A11DAyEV3RYDAY True, I saw a vid about this Terrain hopper wheelchair, check it out, it'l blow ur mind!

  • awesome mate!

  • This bike is made for people with spinal cord injury or legs amputee, that is why is powered by hands :) there is more videos showing how it works, just look on it.

  • looks like the paralympic games... poor ((

  • @vmsdfv ? this was designed for use by persons with lower-torso paralysis. You should not drink and post.

  • @MechaChaz So I was right

  • i can do this with my 2 wheel bike.

  • But the riding looks painfull

  • that bike looks cool
