No, but AWD makes it much easier. RWD drifting is possible, but very, very hard to do with RC cars.

Just saying, all you need is AWD and slippery tires. Stage 2 motor, drift tires, and suspension upgrades are only needed to help and make drifting a little easier.

u dont need awd but it makes it easier if ur new 2 drifting. u can do better entries with 2wd. i use both.

The evo chassis and the gen 1 chassis have the same performance stock, however i think in terms of ease of modification, the evo chassis is the one to buy. You still get RS upgrades for the EVO's in some stores, however they are slowly fading away, RS is discontinuing the line. The only cars you can buy now that they still are distributing are the Transformers cars, which use the EVO chassis.

Only partially right. The pentometer(sp?) is better on the evo and the evo is lighter, I believe. And the transformers ones are being phased out too, stupid RS.

The evo suspension is better in my opinion. The center of gravity is lower. The Gen 1 hat a more durable design. the motors are similar but who keeps those crappy radioshack motors anyways

is that an "evolution" model or the old model? why did they change the design? i have a new style one but i think the old style looks way better. its got proper suspension and a way bigger engine and 4 AA batteries instead of 4 AAA bateries. why did they change the design? whats better about the new design?
