  • hmmm, I wouldn't mind getting Augmented. I have always wanted to Clock and be invincible.

  • Deus ex...the new nineteen eighty-four

  • do you know! Sarif Industries HQ building is Jachin and Boaz towers(symbolically speaking)

  • this video just blew my mind away

  • This concept (the idea of augmentation) can be found in the anime Ghost In The Shell too.

  • Transhumanism the next step in evolution.

  • i wana be a kick ass robot...

  • I got my masters degree with a heavy focus in biomechanical engineering. What is kind of ironic is the advancement in motion capture technology needed for this kind of research is driven by the movie and video game industry...who are makeing movies and video games about the evils of biomechanical engineering.

  • @magnifypictures I know this is something we'll have some day but play deus ex are you really going to want them xD

  • but i want retractable dildo arms!

  • so they developed these augmentations and so on, and THEN they started testing it for military use? i don't think so

  • The only unstoppable force is progress.

  • Very cool.

  • music?

  • @HailEnclave Type: ''Deus Ex Purity First Soundtrack''

    You'll find it =)

  • I think we as a human race should advance our technology more, it's about time we stopped stagnating EMBRACE AUGMENTATION.

  • Neill Blomkamp needs to direct this movie!

  • 0:40 i want those legs

  • Good movie material

  • Is there a pro-augmentation trailer?

  • @RisingSunOfTheEast Yeah, type Sarif and You. and you see like your basic comercial but then for Sarif industries.

  • Watch the Extra Credits episode on Deus Ex. It really showed me why this trailer scared me so much.

  • I'm actually studying Biomedical Engineering in school, after playing this game I am going to be very careful of what I design before I inadvertently give rise to this kind of madness.

  • @osarodion710 It's not "what" you make it's WHO get's it later on. They could turn a hello kitty coll into some lazer shooting robot if they wanted. :)

  • @osarodion710 Finally someone normal. I hate when people say "oh i want these arms" because if there will be augs (and they will come) it would be just like in this film. It's not even scary, it's VERY scary.

  • @iTzGerimaxx Before playing this game I was ecstatic about designing these kind of enhancements for wounded war veterans or those that have lost limbs in accidents or work related injuries. However now with what I know of how people, (namely corporations and politicians) try to abuse and corrupt science, myself and other potential scientists and engineers, need to be cautious and wise about our innovations. Can you imagine a world like that of Deus Ex? Resident Evil meets Terminator

  • @osarodion710 Yeah. Once it made me thing a looong time that a time like this could come. You imagine people with metal arms? What happens if they hit someone? They are dead. Once human augmentation goes real, our world is ended.

  • @iTzGerimaxx Imagine what wars this technology could bring? God forbid if terrorists get their hands on this technology.

  • @osarodion710 This technology is like the atomic bomb, but it might be a lot, lot worse.

  • @iTzGerimaxx Do you know what Oppenheimer said after the Manhattan Project?

"I am become death, the destroyer of worlds."

  • @osarodion710 Yeah. People are happy thinking that tech makes our world better and comfortable. It's really, really not, we are going straight to hell with this technology.

  • @iTzGerimaxx Yeah we should just all live in tribal societies in perfect harmoney with nature... and then die along with everything else along with the earth when the sun ages and expands. Great plan!

  • @jagovRUS

Especially that those tribes living in harmony with nature always tried to wipe each other out or make them their slaves. Human nature is the same with or without traits of technology. And if it can help someone, why don't use it?

  • I remember when Pandemic did a similar sortof "Stunt" with a fake website, Ever heard of Battlezone 2? Look at the manual for that game and you'll see what I mean.

I love this game, so much so I'm going to buy it again, yep, Twice :)

  • *were a issue in the future

  • If augmentation were true, i'd stand on the side of Letting Humanity choose, augmentations can do good, or bad, and the decision of augmentation cannot be left to a few, the WHOLE of humanity has to choose.

  • Wow thats some really well made video

  • Their wrong...and seriously stop thinking about the illuminaty....augs will be good if they will ever exist.

  • @Killarila You obviously never played Deus Ex, ANNY Deus Ex, also there is so much talk about Illuminati here because Deus Ex is a Conspiracy based series and the whole plot is about the Illuminati actually.

ofcorse Augs will be good! for sick people and war veterans? but if your job get's taken away because a healthy normal human being amputated both of his arms just to get an advantage in soceity i say it has some ethical concerns...THAT is the core of Deus Ex. Moral, Ethics, Choices.

  • Wow =)

  • I DIDN'T ASKED FOR THIS

  • deus ex it's a first person game, so fuck this, its a bad game

  • @KelCreatorMan really dude please tell me your kidding. this is one of the greatest games of all time. You dont have to play it like a shooter you can go stealth if you want. It is not a game like cod dont judge this game based on the view point.

  • @KelCreatorMan wow good point! well said man! you changed my point of view on this game completely

  • @KelCreatorMan Your so naive i'm not even going to convince you otherwise, the copy you'd buy whould go to waste.

  • I show this video as an example of how far story telling has come in Video Games

  • First game ever to make me cry!! :(

  • this is a game?

  • Did I see Wheatley in there?

  • I think this game had such an impact with me because we're not too far from being able to do this stuff, it's just realistic enough to where it makes you truly think about what would happen if it comes to this.

But holy crap this video almost made me cry... It's intimidating xD

  • darrow should be missing a limb, left arm

  • @ExtraMushy He can't he's one of the few people who's genetic cell structure and DNA will reject his augmentations.(Everyone hase that, but in his case it's much worse and he could die)

  • @Honorfull well in the game his missing his left arm

  • i will augment myself anyday

  • @dbogdan06

Hope it'll be possible before I die.. but in Poland.. I can already imagine all these harvesters in dark alleys!

  • Deus Ex is a brilliant concept, a well developed world, and an in-depth game. So here's the question, would you really want a movie?

Super Mario Bros, Street FIghter, Mortal Kombat, etc. The list goes on and on and on. Do you really think Hollywood could get Deus Ex right?

  • @killingkillian

Probably not, since Hollywood doesn't take video gaming seriously. However, one day they'll actually make a good movie, but the question is "when?". Then just have the get the right people to create it.

  • @killingkillian But Deus Ex has a cinematic storyline. It would have to be broken up into several movies to get the correct effect. Even just a doccumentary about Human Augmentation is the Deus Ex world would be a movie I would see. It doesn't have to follow the "Main Character" storyline.

  • @MASTACHIEFPWN A mockumentary on human augmentation, hell, even the story of a another character caught in this world would be interesting enough.

  • @MASTACHIEFPWN It's the same reason why a Metal Gear Solid movie will never exist.

  • @MASTACHIEFPWN The problem here is that most directors who take on game stories aren't interested in telling a good story. They're interested in cashing in on a franchise and exploiting the fans.

It'll take a director and writer(s) with real respect for the material to make any sort of respectable game movie, frankly; Hollywood seems convinced that gamers are morons who'll watch anything they throw at us.

  • @killingkillian I refuse to watch this so deus ex "keeps its dignity" in my eyes.

Also, not looking foward to the fabled "Halo movie", same deal.

  • @Axisoflords The Halo film was cancelled a LOOOONG time ago. It's assets were in turn used to create District 9.

  • @Loathe12 I know about that, I was meant to say that I hope there never is a Halo movie.

  • @killingkillian A movie? absolutely not, all the movies you cited and more like final fantasy are reasons to distrust hollywood. The only way any justice can be done imo would be a mini-series in the style of band of brothers, game of thrones, spartacus etc etc

  • @killingkillian They would have to add some free campaigning for Obama to get it right

  • @killingkillian

    yeah

if you look at deus ex

it looks like a fusion of blade runner and robocop

  • @killingkillian Truth be told, Deus Ex could have made an excellent movie back in the 90s. But by today's standards, definitely not.

  • @killingkillian Dude, I just wanted to return to the open world and see how the choices I made would affect the future. I would rather they make a DLC that extends past the final decision rather than a half assed 90 minute movie, but hey, thats just my opinion. This is the best game I've ever played so maybe I'm just sad it had to end :(

  • @killingkillian have they ever gotten any video game series right?

  • @killingkillian in a few years we won´t need Hollywood anymore. game industrie is the future of entertainment

  • @killingkillian with the right people behind the project, it could be very successful. however, Deus ex would have to be done in a format similar to the upcoming Hobbit films, it would be a huge undertaking but if hollywood worked closely with the game's creators, they could produce a very compelling and entertaining film that does justice for Deus Ex. that, however, is assuming that hollyood isn't run by ass-wipes, and since it is, to answer your question, not a chance.

  • @Proxy01001298 Exactly, hollywood would turn it around and make money and amusement off of it any way they can. They have a reputation for fucking up film/games.

  • @killingkillian I always come back to that it would be cool if done right but how would it go stealth? just run in shooting? both? I'd rather they make a book then a movie that way you get more stuff and it's not to hard to mess up like with a movie if you run out of money.

  • @killingkillian Agreed! Movies aren't the pinnacle of storytelling anymore. It's video games! I'd rather them spend millions on the production of a video game sequel than a movie base on the game.

  • @thaneros Now an anime series other other hand....

  • @thaneros

I agree. In the last decade we've been given Deus Ex 1, 2, and 3, FEAR, Assassin's Creed, and Bioshock. I'm not much of a movie buff, but I can't think of six movies with stories as engaging and thought provoking to come out within the same time frame.

  • @thaneros

well, movies never were the pinnacle of storytelling. those things are called books.

  • @secdeal That's subjective. Remember we're talking about a medium here. A book can be good or shitty but its still a book. Books just usually have a better average quality in my opinion since the only thing they are is their writing. No shiny toy guns or big explosions to entertain you that you don't imagine yourself.

  • @thaneros Story-telling in games has always had a unique flair, though Human revoloution takes it to a whole new level with this trailer. It set in a dystopian world, that can very well be ours in a couple of years; which is the scariest, and best part about this trailer.

  • ha ha... ididots... as a madscientist myself, i'm with sarif on this one. stupid silly purists.

  • @actualmadscientist When i grow up, i want to be an augmented "ididot".

  • ...selling a genuine for 4 refined, 2 ref for regular

  • So... I've watched all the live-action Deus Ex: HR promos, and... Well fuck... We need a Deus Ex movie!!!!

  • ...And one day this will be the U.S.

Their already working on chip implants...

  • @heronoki Oh please, that's nothing. We already have robotic limbs and cybernetic eyes too, and we've made the first major breakthroughs in creating matrix like isntant learning. Our shit just ain't as smooth yet.

  • THis hsit is awesome and incrediblys cary at the same time since we are not far from this

  • first off, humanity is defined by who you are not what you are. second off, to quote a great man, in a argument between people with ocean liner pistons for arms and people who want everyone to be as shit as they are, i think i know whos side I'D be on!

  • @albertjester If your Religious, This is how God made you.

If your an Ahteist. This is how Evolution WANTED you to be.

i don't want to worry about going to the mall, looking at somebody in the wrong way and being ripped to pieces. i don't want to work at a bank and EVERY client there will have fucking blades underneath there arms. Or a Thypoon explosive system.

  • @Honorfull evolution is when an organism adapts to its enviroment. the human race has reached the point were we have stopped adapting to our enviroment and instead we have adapted our enviroment to us. this would be a chance to begin a new path of evolution. we could be better than we are. and as for being afraid of augmented people, whats the differance between someone haveing blades in their arms and someone having a gun in there jacket? human nature is the problem not human ability

  • @Honorfull People already carry blades in their sleeves and bombs strapped to their chests.

  • @Loathe12

Damn, that's exactly what I was going to write!

  • @Honorfull

Do you really think civillians would be allowed to have weapons or, which is kind of ridiculous, multiple grenade launchers in their prosthetics? :')

  • @Panczekolada No, but i'd rather want to get attacked, assaulted or mugged by a man with FLESH fists than METAL fists.

faster reacting, able to punch intire stone walls, stamina.

So i DON'T think they'll allow weapons on civillians but it doesn't really make a difference if i get sliced by a small metal knife or my spine is twisted by a big heavy metal fast-moving arm.

  • @Honorfull

Instead of a man with metal fists you can get assaulted or mugged by someone with a knife. My step-cousin got attacked with a machete at night. Remember the brass knuckles too. And of course the main dish - guns.

The point is - anything can be dangerous and used to hurt people. Even spoons. Should we stop using everything that can be potentially dangerous?

  • @Panczekolada No, but whene i get in a fight or a heated ''hussle'' i'd rather get punched by flesh rather than Metal.

example: A 13 year old able to kick a 40 year's old ass. Right.

  • @Honorfull

Of course, everyone would. But, 1 - not everyone would be able to afford a prosthetic, 2 - pepper gas works on augs too(unless they have fancy filtration augment in their lungs). If you get into an argument/fight with augmented guy, you should do it in front of a crowd reminding him how dangerous his toy is. He'll think twice when you remind him that he can go to jail for murder. You say "when I get in a fight", I ask why would you? It's better to not fight. ,)

  • @Panczekolada I know it's better not to, but you know how hot-headed some people are or some drunk jackass walking down the street.

annyway i KNOW it can be benefitial for soceity i'm just afraid of the POSSIBILITES and responsebilities.

I for onwhould NOT get Augs. i whould hate myself if i coudn't feel the soft hand of my child ever again with my hands....

  • @Honorfull

I know what you mean. I think that the augmentations should be subject to massive regulations. Violent people shouldn't be granted heavy augs - lightweight materials not capable of dealing too much damage and possible aggression inhibiting software that weakens the aug when in anger.

Of course some people would bypass these limitations, but those would be just as dangerous with spoon as with the arm aug! But we shouldn't limit the majority because of violent handful.

  • I love this vid ..They should make a cartoon series like animatrix or ghost in the Shell type with Adam of course..or a movie but this vid is very awesome and believable Movie type stuff

  • The website is scary at 3:43 in the morning... o_o

  • he has an english accent so he knows what he is talking about

  • i cant belive they've hacked there site because this morning i was cheking there site then this video came on and if i want to go on the tabs u cant see much cuz of the black splohes and theres a vocie recording an one of the tabs (its kidda scarry) :(

  • Bitch if you learned anything from Ghost in the shell, You should know being a cyborg is awesome.

  • @DMDS1991 watch 2:30 onward..

  • Comment removed

  • @Lpmikeboy Fuck off with the spoilers dude.

  • @27john182 OH SHIT, you're right xD

  • Well! the reason purity first hates augmentations is: the addictive drugs that augmented people takes to prevent cybernetics to be rejected by human body and you know, Adam Jensen are actually Genetically engineered to takes Augmentations without that drugs

and Command and Conquer has did it long before this comes out: it takes Drugs to prevent bionics from being rejected by Human body, except that drug is Tiberium-based

  • @Masonicon Except that's not even a fact "created" by a video game. It's a known thing that the human body will reject foreign things. That's why implanting organs is such a risk, and they HAVE to be the same blood type, because otherwise the human body will have an "allergic" reaction as it attempts to reject it.

The medication featured in these games likely take reference from real-world counterparts, which work by suppressing the human immune system, which in itself is a danger.

  • @imgrabbinpills you ever hear about the first attempt at a full double hand transplant, the patients body rejected both hands and they rotted away and died and he had to take loads of medication to try keep them on intill it was to late and they had to amputated.

  • Half of this is true.

We're already been pumped full of pharmaceutical, Government-approved drugs.

"Do you feel depressed? Do you feel happy? Do you feel lonely?"

Well then you probably need xXxXxXx.

At the same time, consciousness expanding drugs that grow naturally in the ground,

have been around for millions of years, and have never killed a single human remain illegal.

  • @Outlawzand1 Ya and they won't DARE give you something that would really fix it they want to you STAY on that drug forever paying for it forever!

  • @furydeath It's pure BS! lol

  • kinda sounds like the dark knight soundtrack, no?

  • The scariest thing is: this could be reality in 50 or 70 years. The technology is developoing fast

  • @XellDincht Sorry but you are wrong there, it isn't going to be 50-70 years, you are looking at about 15. Stuff like this is already being developed. Google it.

  • This trailer is scarily believable.

  • @SandwichAndPills And Zhao (i think that's her) is scarily good looking in this video xD

  • Michio Kaku makes some good points in his book "Physics of the Future" that demonstrate how helpful moderating your paranoia can be in landing an accurate prediction of the future for human augmentation technology. We have a lot of moral dilemmas ahead of us as a species and mother nature's roll in our evolution is over. "Soon we must look deep within ourselves and decide what we wish to become."

  • Didn't Ghost In The Shell anime, make a point about all this.

  • quite scary, but its true. the world is full of deception

  • OMG Just tell me what the song is called

  • @sickslick1 the song was created just for the trailer, just search on youtube "purity first soundtrack"

  • I used to think arrow to the knee jokes were funny

What? Were you expecting something more?

  • Comment removed

  • in reality purest would be religious and paranoid people no offence that is just what i think i can understand the worry a major company controlling you limbs and making you take drugs but still

  • same guys that are protesting on wall steet. this thing will blow over just the same..

  • That is what the guys on Wall Street are protesting about. Please educate yourself... and join in. Do something about it.

  • @mtoro16 Do you mean Occupy Wallstreet? If so, I gotta tell you, you're VERY wrong. The "movement" itself is very uninformed, and is made up mostly of young people who squandered opportunities, or wasted borrowed money on useless things - now they want "loan forgiveness", "free healthcare," and tons of money put towards flippant causes. Thing is, our economy isn't set up to handle such demands, and there are more serious financial problems to deal with. Occupy Wallstreet = Greedy and Ignorant.

  • @imgrabbinpills Doubular Postage My Good Sir And By the Way Quite well Proven

  • @mtoro16

or i can just get a job

  • Sounds very similar to the eugenics and human experimentation's of the Nazi's.

  • WHATS THE SONG THAT PLAYS DURING THE SECOND HALF OF THE TRAILER!??!?!? :O

  • The purity first guys remind me of crazy creationists.

  • Incredible. So this is what is going to happen in 20 years? lol

  • @adam78180 Actually only 8 years.

  • Comment removed

  • @xXMapleVodkaXx Why are you so sure after only 8 years? Please enlighten me

  • @olipalli1 I don't mean that's exactly what would happen, I'm sticking inside the Deus Ex storyline, basically if Deus Ex would actually happen, then there'd be a technological boom in about 7-8 years.

  • resistance is futile!

  • Don't want augmention? Don't take it. Simple.

  • Arrow in the knee is a augmention? Think about it.

  • @LanevujBk

they had to replace my precious knee, thanks to sarif i still can be an adventurer

  • Purists are so until they lose an eye.

  • Great plot!

  • Mankind has the right to strive towards Godhood. The next step in our evolution should be brought about by our own hands.

  • @Hrrrrng A large part of the message of HR was that putting the ability to control your evolution was open to abuse. A small group could control what could essentially be the future of humanity, and a lot of it came down to money. Sure, some could choose their evolution, but you'd have many who'd simply be left behind. And as Darrows believed, this kind of controlled evolution risked the loss of humanity itself.

  • @imgrabbinpills

    Look around you.

Do you even see what the world's come to?

Do you see how low humanity's fallen?

There's no hope; there's no future.

The only chance of survival we have is to sacrifice our humanity and move on to the next step in our evolution -- becoming more than human.

We may only find that in the face of replacing our flawed bodies with cold perfection -- machinery; synthetic constructs - constructs that function and make no mistakes.

    H+.

    The only hope.

  • @UshiromiyaReiji ye the good ol'days were when ppl lived to 30, everyone had to scrape for bread and water and no one knew the meaning of the word tolerance....

Do you see how low humanity's fallen?

    How exactly did it fall?

  • @kapateze

If you truly don't know what I mean -- as I was obviously not even remotely referring to what you said -- then I am sorry for you.

    Ah, well.

Ignorance is bliss, as people say.

  • @UshiromiyaReiji "Humanity" isn't just a physical aspect. Sure, we should always strive to better ourselves, but the idea that Darrows had was that, with Augmentations, what made humans human - the ability to love, to not know the future, to grow; these things were in danger. Huge corporations forcing people to throw away what made them them in order to stand a chance in the job market, to be seen as worthy, was a huge ethical problem in HR. Mankind's growth needn't be so exploitable.

  • @imgrabbinpills

I have not played the game at all yet - I just loved this trailer, as it greatly touched upon a matter I have been most passionate about in many years - Transhumanism.I never implied I agree with how this happened in this particular fictional world, as it was not undergone to advance humanity as much as to just give more powers to huge corporations.

However, Transhumanism in of itself should be the ultimate goal of humanity. That is why I talked about it.

  • @imgrabbinpills

Our humanity is what will destroy us. Better to rid ourselves of it as soon as possible and become a truly worthy species.

  • @Hrrrrng But at what cost?

  • What I've learned from playing Deus Ex, get tested to see if your body can handle the augmentations like Adams can.

  • This is fucking well made kudos to eidos
