@SG55OVCam check out "smallengines ca/pulley" The speed is off by alot compared to my lawnmowers but you can get a rough idea of some of the pulley swaps you can do. Just remember the Lower the pulley ratio the more the torque, the higher the pulley ratio the higher the speed. I know someone had lowered the mower, done a pulley swap, done transmission work, smaller tires, etc. to make it to as fast as possible. and ended up getting up to 30mph in 50ft(modified 12hp briggs)

it is possible, i never siad that i went the same speed that these go, all i said was that i used one to cut the lawn, because it gearing is altered it goes faster than a standard one, so yh it does cut faster and doesnt take long to put blades back on them, so stop criticising u a-hole

I'm pretty sure those engine are near stockers. If you have a 17hp engine but the right drive ssytem, it will be enough to pull like that :)

Just saw a show on how they really make them go super fast..they simply put bigger pistons in them...like race cars..they bore them out. The biggest lawnmower engine I seen so far is a 41 HP and a speed of up to close to 90 mph!!

we completely rebuild them, strengthened, lowered chassis, new gear box, kart brakes new steering and front axle and new pulleys belts and clutches. the engines are exactly the same as a standard mower apart from the fact the govenor is removed...

@ashho56 when i built my b-111 i had to build them to some shitty rules saying no chains torque converters or centrifugal clutches so i got stuck with a belt but im glad cause when you burn a clutch thats 50-100 dollars and i totaly agree with you on the gov thing cause if that were possible alot more people would be cuttin grass on a mower going 50

you cant get 50cc motocross engines, you can get them in road bikes and they are all 2 stroke. you can get 4 stroke 125 engines but i wouldnt think they would be powerful enough for a bog mower like that, you need a 250, now that would be real fun!
