no dude... its better the way it is, the soundwaves need somthing to "bounce" off of so to speak. if its turned towards the front the bass just cancels itsself out and will usally sound like shit, same goes for a trunk too. if you have the port facing the driver and dont have the trunk sealed off you will get horrible sound. try it:)
