@CrossFadeRemains XC athletes are also some of fittest people in the world. Again, it takes years of hard work and dedication to even have the chance to compete in the olympics, and pay may not be great, unless you are at the top echelon, but lifetime awards are there and it's a sport where people can ski for fun until they no longer can physically. Shaun White might be cool and hip, but you can't compare him to a lot of the other Winter or Summer OLY athletes. No chance.

@CrossFadeRemains Have you seen other, REAL sports on tv during the olympics, or other times during the winter time? XC skiing, for example takes years, and years and years of hard work to achieve. The pros of that sport are true grinders. They train in the excess of 700 hours per year. They work on strength, power, technique, intensity, mental strength. They use biking, running, rollerskiing, paddling, hiking, etc during the offseason to get fit. What does White do?

This is an olympic sport?!? LOL...facepalm. Compare this to cross country skiing, biathlon, speed skating, etc, oh wait, you can't compare it. This is more of a show than anything else.
