Would someone, anyone, PLEASE, tell me this outstandingly amazing clown's name! This man is the best, most perfect, full of details clown I've ever seen on stage! Please, I beg you all. I need to know his name and I just can't find it in the Web!
@DiggerDave14 That is so awesome. I practiced for a week or so trying to do this for HS talent show, but could not find the original soundtrack. I felt like the clown. I hope it went well for you. If you have it on Vid, please post it.
This is Slava Polunin's act which he performed in his Slava Snow Show for many years. Slava is the greatest and the best. I am glad his act has got another life.
I remember seeing this performed, live, in Singapore. This performance piece is even more impressive when you see it in front of you. The clowning/acting and the stage effects are superb.
Its sad for me. Especially Alegria. I've meet a lot of the actors when i was around 10. I just wish i communicated with them more :( Yuri didn't seem the talkative type when i approached him after the show :P but i can understand that.
One of the things I love most about clowns is when they make you feel, think and even cry. What an incredible talent he is! Thanks for opening up all kinds of emotions I forgot I had!
@spollack2 I especially love the way the audience is drawn into the sketch at the very end. It was one of the incredible things I've seen. Cirque just gets better and better
Just watched this for the first time and this is what clowns do best - make us think and feel! This guy is incredibe! Thank you for awakening my senses!
I believe this is one of the greatest pieces of stage entertainment from the greatest circus on earth. I watched this show with my wife and when I got home after midnight managed to get two more tickets for the next show. I took my son and we sat right in the front, the snow blew right at us, magical. With the clown that drags the houses along, his hat is in tribute to slava.
@yarghmemateys Did you sit in the front when you went with your wife. I'm thinking I want to get the tickets for the 2nd best seats. Were you still able to see the performance good?
How can you not get it??? It's a wonderfull love story. I've seen this show twice and tihis number 4 times, and i love them all. This number was part of slava's snow Show, very god too!
because i haven't seen this cirque du solei show but i have seen slava's snow show sooo correct me if i'm wrong but...isn't this too much a like? i mean...it's almost the same!...sooo what happen here ? the scene of the clown cleaning his jacket with a brush and then the train and the clown with the long hat THE STORM for god sake!!!...is slava's snow show an estract of cirque du solei or something??? i don't understand
i think im right in saying slava wrote some acts for cirque du solei when he worked there, most probably asked could they use the acts also. but yeah the basis is slava worked for cirque before he began his own snowshow and this was an act he wrote for it!
@luckylessly KevWillow7 is right, slava was in alegria and he put his hat act in the show, he then left, cirque kept the hat and coat act and slava took it as well to his show :) xx
So let me get this straight Yuri left a while ago for a break but recently he has come back to alegria and started to perform this sketch again right??
I think it has a different story for everyone that watches it, here is what I think it means:
Here this clown, and he was fired from the circus or something and now he is on the traintracks with his luggage, trying to find somewhere to go...and the coat-hat person was a close friend or even a lover, someone he could go to for comfort.
The person slipped a note of betrayal into his jacket, he read it, and ripped it apart. It's a simple story of betrayal and being alone.
That's a similar story to the one that I get from it. Only, I see the actor as a vagabond or a homeless guy that had a lover, but something happened between them, leaving him sad and alone. It is a beautiful performance. It would have been good without the music, but the music adds more to it. It really makes me want to cry when he rips up the note. My Theatre Arts class watched it a couple days ago, and I absolutely loved it!
I saw this show when I was 6 years old or something and this is one of the few parts that I still remember (part because my little sister was crying because the train didn't come) I really love cirque du soleil they're great!
I saw this in Halifax on May 29th at 3:30pm. As you can see it is unforgetable. I recomend this Alegria performace be Cirque Du Soleil to all. It really was wonderfully windy and gusty and the flakes fell gently and then totally engulfed us. Some of them even hijacked a trip in my handbag on the way home. Encore and I hope they have a terrific time performing for the Saint John Audiance. Cirque Du Soleil Alegria BRAVO!!!!!!
Ich habe drei Mal es gesehen, und jeden Mal bleibe ich sprachlos. Die Menschen von der Cirque sind währe Künstler. Perfekte Musikund der Kraft der Stille gemischen.
jaja yes this is a slava's snowshow act but its not a plagia, slava poulin adapt part of his show specially for this cirque show MATDBC get information before you speak!!!
From 5: 14 onward you could hear a pin drop. That's how much this skit affected the audience. They were literally driven to silence. Do you know how DIFFICULT that is?
i have bought the soundtrack from itunes, and it seems that there are tracks that are not in the show. i was just going back through the videos to see which ones are extras.
@trozei123 Just watched the 4 minute version of his and there is an incredibly beautiful song that is sung. Even though it's only half of the sketch, it's worth watching.
this reminds me of jewish people and auschwitz. The way he boards a train gets off and he is coold and it is snowing and then theres lots of snow which see as ashes as they burnt the bodies of the victims and the ash looked like snow.
@smelly1345 What an interesting take on this. Usually clowns make us laugh, but this clown awakens all the senses. What an incredible talent. I wish I could have seen this show. I love the way the audience is taken into the sketch.
Amazing! Mainly because of the storytelling and theres so much emotion without talking. You actually feel for the clown and thats incredible! This is my favorite act! Thanks for posting it!
