The police packaged crown vic hits 60 in 6.5-7sec which is not slow, but border line quick. The police packaged charger v8hemi hits 60 in 6 secs. In todays standards that is considered quick, but I think that most of the police chargers only have a v6.

Bullshit, they do 0-60 in 8 seconds or more. I've tested ex-interceptors. With all the equipment loaded in the trunk, metal bars, extra lights, etc, I can only assume its even SLOWER. Any reasonable Turbocharged and lightly tuned car should be able to do it sub 6 seconds, easy. An 80s ST165 Alltrac Celica did it in 7.3 stock, tested and confirmed. 350Zs do 0-60 faster than that, too, in the mid 5 second range. 6.5-7 second 0-60 is NOT fast.

The cars that you socalled tested were used cars with probably high milage. The police cars have the back seats removed and replaced with light weight plastic to make up for the extra weight. I know that this does not fully help make up for the extra weight. They also have the engine tuned for higher output and have the tranny beefed up. If you ask anyone who is a car enthusiast and an ex-cop they should know this.

They were ex-police interceptors, just out of the police auction. Every police car has high mileage. I drove the Vic home after the auction. Dont get me wrong, it does some sweet burnouts, but slow is slow. The only difference between this Vic and the police ones were that the lights were taken off, spotlight too, trunk radio, and the bars and plastic between the seats. Oh, and they hooked up the inside handles again. Rear seats were still plastic. It is still slow.
