  • WOW. This sounds so different from the more common version. Pat still belts out the AWESOME vocals. Thank you for sharing Rock history with us.

  • well keep up the great work!

  • Maybe we're a season back in the Nordics (part of Europe), but there was a try out in American Idol who pulled this so good that she got to go to Hollywood. It was not Pat, but the first time I ever heard anybody take Pat on. She was good, but not Pat. But maybe The song got her to Hollywood? Anyway - good luck for her.

  • Just goes to show you that (in this case at least) "professional studio musicians" and record labels, don't know shit when it comes to rock n roll.

......Neil never got half the credit he deserved for everything he did with the PB band.......his guitar playing was every bit as essential as Pat's vocals were.

  • @debgibsonfan True dat! His guitar solos; arrangements, writing, everything coupled with Pat's vocal abilities were a powerful force; Myron's beating the shit out of that drum; the whole package made this band stand the test of time and also be part of Rock N Roll history!

  • I think it's cool to hear this "alternative" version. Thanks for posting. Your archives are amazing.

  • @joelsbebop Thanks! I am always on the hunt for any rare footage I can find and share. Allot of this rare footage was never available which is sad. I try to educate new fans and let old fans see footage they were never privy too; especially footage from other countries and pre MTV.

  • What IS interesting on this vid is: Check who did the keyboards. Paul Shaffer. He ALSO did the keyboards for Scandal's video of Goodbye to you. Had QUITE the music vid career before Letterman.

  • @cageomatic777 I heard he never really wanted to join a band but use his abilities and know how to assist others in bringing out their creative skills. I was told by Roger Capps (Pat's bass player) that he was kind of a go to guy in NY in the music scene back in the day.

  • WOW! Where did you find this? I found your channel recently and subcribed. I love your Patti collection! Thank you so much for the obvious effort you've put into sharing all the rare footage with us! You rock!

  • @TheMyisa I have my ways :) We hard core Pat fans will legally purchase and have everything she has released; things that were never released we find stuff and share our treasures! Message me your email address and I'll send you the mp3

  • How did u come across this vesrsion...??? Amazing. I had heard that an entire albulm was cut and never released.

  • @therunawaysrockme message me your email address and I'll send you the mp3.

  • Thx....! I Love It All But Prefer The One Wit Neil Playing !

  • i heard this a few days ago. i must say i'm happy they didn't use this version. this one is flat. it goes to show you Pat and Neil knew what sounded better. thank god they didn't stay with this sound. of course pat still sounds great, but the band arrangement on this version is terrible. so cool that you uploaded this though. it's nice to see how well they progressed even in those early days. lol oxoxox Joyce you rock.

  • Sounds like a bad cover band.

  • @JBravo2 Pat's vocals and the guitars are great but keyboards don't belong in this song. The melodic music playing toward the end of the song brings it down. With Pat, Neil, Scott, Roger, & Myron it was harder and intense; Neil's solo brought it home, and it rocked to the end; of course Pat Benatar's signature rock star pose at the end of the song sealed the deal; I love using her rock star pose when I edit vids.

  • @ivegottaheadache I love her rock star pose too! My room was covered in posters of her posing when I was a teen, they are all rolled up in tube in storage now. Great editing, again!

  • o wow, i never knew who it was that sang this song. im a idiot to have never known her name lol. such a great singer...addicted now xD

  • @mistaLE4point0 Subscribe to my channel; it's devoted to Pat Benatar and I have allot of rare vids; especially pre MTV days.

  • Let me rephrase that last bit: I don't like the keyboard in this version.

  • Oh...yet another reason to loathe Paul Shaffer. Thank you, Neil, Mike Chapman, Myron, Charlie, and Roger for heading this pathetic bunch off at the pass. And thank you, Pat for pushing back against this garbage. You are way too talented for the group of yahoos Chrysalis set you up with the first time.

  • Wow . . . Pat's vocals are great, but I agree with you, i'vegottaheadache. This does sound more "pop" and I don't like the keyboard in this song.

  • Thanks, Neil, for saving In The Heat Of The Night.

  • Wow. Thank God for Neil Giraldo. Pat Benatar really meant it when she said that Neil was instrumental in her development as an artist.

  • i struck GOLD

  • @movietreasure I like Pat's vocals; but agree with what she said on the fact that the album didn't sound "authenic" so it was scrapped and a whole new crew came in. She said the first group was trying to push her into "pop" but she wanted "rock". The keyboards, ...no.

  • @ivegottaheadache

Pat always sounds great. Like Neil said in an interview he did at AOL with Pat "the talent was there and all I had to do was just steer it in the right direction"
