Yes, I agree. Just as was done in the Middle East in the 1950's during the cold war. Protection of American oil investments. A very probable cause and most likely a major one. But you see, the dangerous and evil regime of Saddam Hussien was a threat to that investment as well as to human lives.

I agree with you that weapons are causing a huge problem. The Cold War was a major example of an arms race. But think of Saddam and the poison gas he used on his own people in the 80's. And all the fathers that he made shoot their own families. He was an evil man and sanctions did not work. The problem should have been resolved in 1991 but it was not, and has to be finished now.

Take a look at the relief campaigns UNICEF does for third-world countries. The USA is a major contributer to UNICEF and has drives throughout the country. And the Red Cross donations that the US gives. Or, the Clinton Global Initiative that provides public health benifits and poverty relief. There are a lot of good things that America does for other countries. And the spread of "Democracy" is one of them. Ac ountry does not have to be capatalistic to be democratic.

If you take a close look at what the Islamic facists and what America stands for, you will realize that they are polar opposites. Yes America has corruption, but I do believe that even more exists with them. Taking the religion of Islam, which is meant to be quite peaceful, and becoming extremists. There is a very real reason to put a stop to this. War won't solve this problem. But it is a step in the right direction to improve the governments of countries occupied by these Islamo facists.
