Hello trevorstark. Nice video, nice cover. I like the ac30 sound. Very close to the edge. Was it just the guitar signal into a delay pedal and then to the ac30? What kind of settings did you used on the pedal and the amp?

@haraldamsterdam1988 Thanks man! You are right, guitar - delay - ac30. I have no idea what the pedal settings were, it was 4 years ago :) It is a Boss DD3. The old ac30 doesn't have a lot of knobs, it was just really loud! Groeten uit Florida.

Vox Amps are loud, i want a vox amp myself. But they're quite expensive. Haha nice you talk some dutch.

@haraldamsterdam1988 Ik ben inderdaad een Nederlander. De Vox heeft geen topboost (1965). Bas is maximaal en treble halverwege. De Vox klinkt beter als het luid is. Gegroet maar weer :)

@haraldamsterdam1988 Geemigreerd inderdaad. Geen middle tone op de Vox. Er zijn 3 verschillende inputs, clean, normal en tremelo. Nee ik ben er niet doof van geworden, het was "ear candy"!!

What I am asking myself: How do you manage to strike only the 4th and 5th string when playing the main riff? If I try to hit no other but the two strings, I play lame. If I try to play more freely, I end up playing the 3rd and 6th string. Okay, I can mute the 6th with the left hand, but still... Is it just a matter of practice?

Hey man congratulations. It´s the best Pride cover i´ve seen so far. I also recorded one here but I have some limitations since I don´t have a good gear. You could also make a cover of Where the Streets Have no Name. I´m sure it would be perfect. I would like to know where did you get that backing track. as is the case of Bono: the newer versions are in E-flat...but the guitars are de-tuned.

Hi, it really is just a clean guitar, no overdrive. Just the amp and an old Boss delay. I boosted the volume a bit with an eq-pedal. Also no modulation on the delay so everything is pretty basic here. I don't really remember the delay time cause i filmed it a long time ago but i guess it should be around 410 - 420 ms. I'm sorry i can't help you with the Zoom, I never tried it. Thanks man!

an eq pedal's not essential, just a delay, I'm sure your zoom can do that.

the magic number is 45000! For 'the edge' sound, divide 45000 by the bpm (in this case 108 I think) and that gives the delay time in ms (for 108bpm that comes out at 417ms)

Bedankt voor het antwoorden. We hebben gisteren met de hele band jou video bekeken.Onze complimenten !! Die delay tijd hadden we ook al zo ongeveer berekend. omdat mijn drummer zonder clicktrack speelt gebruik ik de tap functie. Hij geeft me vier tellen vooraf zeg maar. De DD5 heeft geen display met het aantal ms vandaar. Laatste vraag. Gebruik je de delay instelling het hele nummer door? Inclusief solo etc? PS: dit is de overtuigenste U2 cover van Pride op youtube !!

De delay instelling gebruik ik het hele nummer door. Ik heb een sticker geplakt op mijn delay (om de knop die de ms aangeven) en streepjes gezet. Het is wat primitief, maar het werkt!

Hello Trevor, I'm Marco from Holland and I want to say you that this sounds awesome. Very authentic The Edge sound !! Very good job. I've a question and maybe you can help me. I'm not actualy searching fot The edge's tone but his delay settings keep me awake for a long time. I set them at dotted eights and tap the tempo what my drummer gives me. I tweak down the feedback knob on my delay pedal ( Boss DD-5) but the notes are bouncing back to me when I do up and down strokes in the rythm part.

He Marco, bedankt voor de complimenten! De delay setting zal rond de 435 ms zijn denk ik. Zelf gebruik ik nooit de taptempo. Als je drummer wat te traag of te snel is, corrigeer het dan door de ms een beetje aan te passen. Werkt voor mij in ieder geval... :) Het aantal repeats zal ongeveer 2,5 zijn. Ik hoop dat dit wat helpt!
