@nanzioboy everything is plugged into a small behringer mixer. kaossilator has no midi port, so unfortunately you can't hook it up to your akai mpk61.
@eStefresco thanks man. I have a really basic set up and this was recorded late at night with headphones on. It's not perfect, but thanks for the constructive criticism.
yes it was, but I can't remember which patch I used... and I'm pretty certain I tweaked it slightly (ie. jacked up the reverb and adjusted cutoff\resonance)
yeah doesn't it?! I recently unboxed my JP-8000 again (after having moved in the summer) and I haven't been able to stop playing with it since... sounds so lush... great synth
hey thanks! the distortion is actually intentional. that's what that particular kaossilator patch sounds like :) i just liked how it sounded juxtaposed to the clean\dreamy piano lead\pad
Very nice piece of work especially considering you played it all live.
Would be interesting to hear it once it was recorded into a DAW like ableton live or cubase etc and carefully edited with drum/percussion changes and a bassline.
Sounds great as is though,I'm thinking you could make a great progressive house tune out of this.
Wow I'm glad you enjoyed it! And fantastic feedback too, thanks so much for your notes. Truly appreciated. I recorded this on iSight on the fly for fun. But now I may consider fleshing it out in Logic. I love a good house tune ;)
Yeah no worries man.I personally think you could defo make a nice chilled out progressive house tune out of it or a really make use of the melody and make a trance track out of it.Very nice melody, just add a four to the floor kick and a simple bass but groovy bassline and build it,maybe put a nice breakdown at around 129 bar for around 32 bars and add more sounds playing the same melody to make it bigger and then lift off with bass and drums. These are just thoughts.I love it as it is though.:-)
You prolly regret selling it and I tell you why.... :) 1. great hands-on controllers that keep you intrested 2. retro wannahave machine used by loads of artists 2. for the amount of cash it isn't just worth selling it. 3. great VA sounds for any type of music. 4. an excellent 4 octave keyboard. 5. collectors item if it is in good shape Really. I sold my JP8080 2 years ago and I'm very .. very glad I bought a cheap mint conditioned JP8000 a week ago again. Anyway keep up the lovely freestyling.
how did you hook all that up. could i hook my koasilator up to my akai mpk61?

cool stuff, do you know if it is possible to run the keyboards through the kaossilator to make different sounds for the keyboard?
charlieguitarman123 2 years ago
Unfortunately, you cannot run anything into or through the Kaossilator. It is a simple stand-alone handheld synthesizer... output only.
