Kayak over a waterfall New Zealand

I live on the banks of the Rangitaiki, these Aniwhenua falls shots remind me of how magnificent the original falls were, before they built the hydro scheme. Now they just let a bit out now and again for the kayakers, but its never as good as it's former glory.

Why do people have to say this is such a gay drop?... Its a great run, especially if its only your second time on a river.. i finnally got my courage to do it, and i wann go back soon.. got a video and photos of it, looks like im trying to corkscrew/kickflip off the ledge.. haha

Aniwhenua falls you gotta get there when that thing is in flood and the dam is releasing! It goes off.

A mate and I paddled the section below the dam gates and then over the falls in flood and yes it rocks.

Believe it or not this is a beginner waterful at Anewhenua not far from Rotorua North Island NZ. Great spot.

I hope to one day be blessed enough to be Kiwi as a teacher. If there is very in demand job in NZ, I would do it just to be Kiwi. There is no greater land in the whole world. I am Kiwi abroad for now.
