I would have to agree with you that the first 5 seconds do sound like that. The rest of the song sounds nothing like it though. The similarities were an unconscious consequence of being devoted RHCP fans.

Boomtown, Echoes, Swallow, and Fracture were recorded in a professional studio in Ohio. Comitatus was electronically produced, and Untitled was recorded with a few microphones in a basement.
